I'm moving to Juneau this winter. I'm a former Marine in search of peace. I think I'll find it there.

Hello! Does the trail warn you of any bear encounters? I saw one video here on YT where he hiked Mt. Roberts and he encountered a bear so it was smart of him to bring a bear spray. Very nice perspective of the hike btw. Thanks!

Hi. The parking area has warnings. It's kind of a given to always be aware that there might be bears anywhere in Alaska.
      Thanks for watching. Happy hiking!

You walk through town and start up the hill through the neighborhoods and you can find signange to the trailhead. Thanks for watching. Happy hiking!

Can I walk from my cruise ship to this trail?

You definitely can. It's not close, but an avid hiker can do it easily.

If we were to take the team to the top, is this the trail we would take back down into town?
If so, it doesn't appear to be dangerous. Is that a fair assumption? (Looks fun but don't want to die. Lol.)

Indeed, this is the trail. You can hike up, tram down -- or vice versa, as you mention.

No, it isn’t dangerous, just moderately steep for a fair amount of it, and a couple rooty areas. The trail continues much further to the ridges above the tram & Roberts peak, which can be a different story, but mostly still safe. Highly recommend hiking at least a little bit above the tram if you ride it to the top - not very far for great views!
