I moved to Anchorage Alaska 34 years ago from Los Angeles California. Talk about culture shock! But I will never live anywhere else. The beauty up here is just breathtaking, and it still awes me every day. Everyone should visit Alaska at least once in their lifetime
Did an Alaska cruise in June. The cruise actually started in Seward to Vancouver. Many ports. We had an extension at the beginning in Anchorage and at the end rode the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Banff. Was a great trip.
@@Livingtheglobe we were on Viking and only did included excursions at every port. All were worth it. We are not very adventurous at our ages of 66 and 76 due to some walking issues. One excursion at the end of our trip was to a park near Banff where we did walk on a Glacier. That was part of our Rocky Mountaineer Railroad extension. Was worth every penny we paid. The trip had been canceled in 2021. You should take a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer Railroad in Canada. Check it out.
So quick thing about about the Bear spray that plastic cap on top is a reusable safety and you should spray at least once in a quick iteration to make sure the can is functional also it is the best practice do spray and yell and when they turn around and leave stop spraying there might be more than one beer and the same bear might take a hit stagger back and then walk forward again I need a second reminder.😅
Hey folks thank you so much for the video it was a big help I'm starting to get a little bit more understanding what to expect. Talk about a draw I guess you are from Brooklyn or Jersey. Don't worry my mother-in-law's was from up there Brooklyn I think😁
Like comment watch. Gm...let's see what's up in Juneau. 👏. Haha u wrote "pray" but I know u meant. "prey" 😃...That was some huge bear droppings geez.. 👍
@@Livingtheglobe Bear spray is not prohibited in Canada but it must be USEPA certified which apparently many are not. Also, it would be confiscated before any flight. Cheers.
I had a cannery diorama there on exhibit at the Alaska State museum. It was called the Mug-up exhibit. The life and times of a cannery worker at NN cannery of South Naknek. They had all nationalities from all over the world as cannery workers. My Diorama was on a 5 ft x 5 ft space. 54 buildings drom the dock to shops warehouses, messhall, laundry, bunk houses. Everything that entailed a working cannery.

End of August
About how long did you spend at the glacier area?
We had lits of time there. You can take any blue bus back
Nice video. Thank you
Just be with us for more
Good video, but I don’t need any beer spray
Fair enough!
You guys literally scared the crap out of the bears lol
😂😂😂 they knew we had that spary 🐻
Did you return the bear spray?
no! We bought it in Anchorage and sailed to Vancouver
Does it cost to go into Mendenhall ? Is the crab place at the port or somewhere else?
It is a $5 free but not inforced, if you get a tour bus for transportation, it is included. Yes, the crab place is at the port
The local bus will also drop you off about a mile away from the Park if you want a free option.
You should advise people they will not be able to bring their unused or partially used bear spray into Canada at Vancouver.
Did not know that thank you.

Tram is now 50 dollars

Hey, Dan
Unfortunately you didn’t have time to explore new museum and city museum.
We are more interested in nature rather than museums
@@Livingtheglobe That was plan B for rainy day. Native culture is worth exploring, too.

Is bear spray allowed on board cruiser ships?
I think so it was not taken away 🤷♀️
