I watched the JDAM tutorial that Wags has and the guy is brilliant, but he assumes you know what you're doing to begin with and glosses over many of the "nuts and bolts" needed to successfully drop one of these badboys. This isn't a knock on Wags, but his stuff is next level and advanced. Your videos get down and show all the bindings, sequences, and even the "this is what happens when you screw it up" like not having the correct SOI. This is a JDAM for Dummies level and we love it.
@@BogeyDope thank you brother, It kept going back to the flight marker or random spots after I destroyed the first target for some reason. Will give it a shot. Appreciate all your videos.
@@BogeyDope so I tried again and I can get the box back around it but when I try to mark a second target it just reverts the TGP back to a waypoint. The only thing that seems to reset it is cycling air to ground weapons or cycling PRE/VIS. Then it allows me to mark a new target.
I am unaware of any changes to LGB's. Make sure you have master arm on and that you are holding the weapon release button at least 6 seconds before the release cue is ready for drop. The computer will automatically release as soon as the release cue hits your flight path marker. I have a video on this here - ruclips.net/video/ClDkvCMjKxc/видео.html
Another great video! Question: you mention the TMS Down action at 6:32 to reset the pod to look at the current steerpoint. Is this the same as cursor zero so that pushing the CZ button (i.e., PB 9) has the same effect as using TMS Down? Thanks!
@@DLevasseur I think the first TMS Down action puts it into INR mode, and the second resets the SPI to the current steerpoint. But I'm not sure, and I'm confused on the difference with CZ since they seem to accomplish the same thing.
@@Vortex31415 ECHO is 100% correct. I should have said "Twice" cause I did press it twice. TMS down short goes to INR mode and long or two short will take it to the SPI or waypoint you have selected. I'm fairly certain that TMS down is "CZ". Short for INR long or twice short for CZ
@@BogeyDope thanks! That's really helpful. I wasn't aware of the long press for CZ. I've been using the TMS Down twice action to CZ, but I wasn't sure if there was an advantage to using the CZ PB. Thanks again for the awesome videos!
Just a tip increase your IMP VEL higher...like a lot higher. Also IMP ANG to 80 and get your speed up a lot faster like 450-550 depending on the IMP VEL you are aiming for.
I'm learning the Viper right now, and I'm unfamiliar with the weapons too. Can you explain the reasoning for wanting a steeper impact angle? Will that simply allow for a higher impact velocity? Better penetration of the target? Does DCS actually "care" about those factors when processing a hit on a target?
Now I have to ask how you get your voice to sound so good with the cockpit filter. I use the one on voice mod and it's trash. Secondly how did you get your name on the dash 👀 I'm jelly
Depending on your altitude, the margin of error can dynamically change. I have had no issues at 25,000ft even if I'm not right on the asl. Now, I'm fairly certain if you're down at angels 2 and your aren't on too close to the asl line, it may not be able to correct enough before it hits the ground. Higher altitudes are more forgiving in most aspects.
Unfortunately, it looks like they only changed the damage model of the command center so the penetrators behave better with it only. It seems nothing else has been changed yet.
Whats the minimum altitude to drop these i was thinking to fly low towards sa15 then popup quickly to drop it. Reason is that sa15 takes down agm88c and agm65s. Alao its guarded by sa10s haha or rather the sa15 protects the sa10
If you press the highlighted button, you will lose that screen and replace it with whatever you select. This is why I specified "Select a screen you don't need. Press it twice" that way you can use an unused screen to give you what you want, instead of having to go back and switch BACK to the FCR or HSD or whatever was there prior. This way you have both screens you need/want and can easily switch back and forth. If you select the one that is highlighted, you override it with the new screen. IF that's what you want, then yeah. I just usually leave the screens I want/need to have easy access to.
Your tutorials are some of the best I've seen on YT. However, I find it annoying how you call switches by their full name. Explaining it once at the start of the video would be enough - the rest of the video, just saying DMS/TMS would be perfect. No one in DCS ever calls it by its full name in any other video or in-game. It actually confuses me when you call it by its full name because I'm so used to just hearing the 3 letters.
If you are referring to the PWR button on the JDAMs themselves, make sure they are on a powered station on the wing. You can ONLY power JDAMs on stations 3 and 7 in DCS.
Best dcs videos out there! I love how you show every button, and dont take for granted that people know some things already. Thank you!
Its great.
Knowing precisely every button helps when trying to do something while under pressure. i.e. pop-up AA in the woods, making HARMs catch into the trees.
I think you have some of the best tutorials on DCS, thank you, I just dropped my first set of JDAM’s
That's great! Glad it helped!!

another simple straight to the point tutorial! id love a video on AAR

dude your one hell of a pilot on that jet sim wow great workmanship
loving your tutorials and your 1minute series! also: amazing radio effect on your v/o
love your videos mate. Really good for guys who just need a refresher on these things
It’s really amazing how advanced US military technology is, and you can tell just from this sim.
Perfect.
Been holding off on A2G, but now I don't have to.
Thanks for another great video sir !
Great vids bro, explanations make sense and button explanation is key.
Most usefull videos for DCS,...thx again
Crazy how far sims have come. Gg
Excellent videos
Although he’s awesome he over complicated jdams. I needed this!
Glad it helped! I've got a 60 second version of this coming soon that will be less complicated.
Nice little detail there on the UFC with your name on it.
I assert with confidence the radio effect makes it easier to learn.
Perfect 👍
Your the best video guy
Nice video, definitely going to try this later! Thanks :D
How do you reset it for the next target in vis mode/helmet mounted display? I always have to cycle my weapons to reset it. Must be an easier way.
TMS down a couple times and it'll reset to the flight path marker on the HUD in via mode

About alignment on the ground, no weapon should have electric power while aircraft is on the ground, because of the safety.

F18 has an envelope per the hsi screen so there's more room for error. Does f16 have ? If you miss flying the line perfectly will it still hit ?

Can you use a steer point for the jdam target?
Have they fixed the penetrator's lethality?
Unfortunately, it looks like they only changed the damage model of the command center so the penetrators behave better with it only. It seems nothing else has been changed yet.
Wonder if there was a change to the JDAM setup process because I can't program the release for GRD,GRD DLY etc. Its AIR release only on my setup?
Yes. It's a known bug. It was broken a while back. Still waiting on a fix.

Did you notice any changes with fuse delay working in any of them?
?how u put ur name down the hud?
How do you get your name on the ICP
Do these require the targeting pod?
Technically no. You can use vis mode as shown in the video. However, a tho makes this much more effective.
