@@jameswagesi1026what about him🤔as good as Luther is he sounds like a lot of other great smooth soul singers, Justin hayward has a more distinctive vocal style, but to be honest, 2 totally different singers🎶😊
It blows my mind that Justin said he has never considered himself a singer. What a voice! I have adored this band since my brother introduced them to me when I was 12. I’m now 62, and they have been the soundtrack to my life.
Yes....what a voice - what a song - what a group of tremendously talented musicians that no one can come close - the soundtrack to my life as well....😊😇🥰
My 5 older brothers started me on my " Moodies voyage" in 1968 at age 8. I'm still taking that journey until the white eagle of the North flys me to paradise.
I first heard The Moodys in the late 70s with Nights in White Satin Then when I heard Justin on War of the Worlds I was hooked! When I was 16 and had my first job in 1979 I bought a French pressing of Days of Future Passed. Always loved that album. Only got in to them again in the last 5 years and bought In search of the lost chord. What an album! Now have several others too . Absolute genius and so Spiritual.
This is one of the loveliest songs to come out of the late 60s. And the album it came from - In Search of The Lost Chord - is utter poetic beauty. After 55 years it has lost none of its power.
Their songs refresh the spirit when we have strayed too much into the material world to remind us of what is really important ...... Love and Nature. They bring back hope to let us know it's still not too late to change and to have happiness.
I was having a delightful romp through the Flower Child era when this SINGULARLY classy, elegant group released this wonderfully uplifting ode to Spring. I loved it then and still do 5 decades later! No fanfare or posturing ... simply great, original, creative mastery of their own brand of music.
Back in the day, I always had them No. 2 behind Procol Harum. Robin Trower's guitar, Matthew Fisher's adroit Hammond Organ, and Gary Brooker's Baroque piano playing and magnificent baritone voice. But, yeah, the Moody Blues were excellent.
The best thing about the Moody Blues is that they followed their own individual path, never paying much heed to the trends of the day and were incredibly successful in doing it.

After seeing the Moodies "live" over 50 times since 1970, their rare performance of this song always sends chills up my spine. It's probably their simplest yet deepest song...ever! The true genius of Justin Hayward!

I think this song's message is that there is so much beauty to appreciate and so many lessons for all of us to learn everywhere, in every corner of this universe. (From the "bluebird flying high", to the "old man passing by", to the "children with their skipping rope.") It also speaks of a noticeable/profound change occurring deep within the soul/person - this is especially evident with his phrase/line, "Just what is happening to me? This is truly poetry in song. You can visualize everything Justin is singing and it comes across in his beautiful voice and the MB's music. A Timeless piece of great music!!!
Classical Moody Blues sound and timeless. This song greatly impacted me when I first heard it in 1971. Now in 2023, the song still impacts me the same as it did in 1971. I am an American Christian male, retired US Army and retired Boeing. There are lots of good rock and roll bands, but the Moody Blues is one of only very few musical bands I listen to with any regularity. I have all of their albums and special releases. I first saw the Moody Blues in concert at the Baltimore Civic Center in October 1971. I had just returned from a combat tour in Vietnam in July of that year. Me and 3 other soldiers from Ft Meade MD paid $6.50 for each ticket at the door. The next time I was able to again see the Moody’s in concert was at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, WA, October 2013. For my wife and I together, tickets cost $150. I would have paid more. The music of the Moody Blues kept me sane and off drugs and booze when I was a young man. The music helped shape me as a man as I matured.
That's great sir. I discovered them as an aspiring musician in the 90's when I was a teenager. I love how powerful this sound is. Good music is eternal. I remember hearing Days of Future Passed on the radio and was simply blown away.

WOW, I can remember things like that, I turned 21 in 68 and almost every night I would go to sleep with my head between the speakers. Just reading your comments brought back those good old times. Today's so called music can't compare to ours...
So does anyone out there believe young men in their 20’s or early 30’s these days could even dream of producing such amazing progressive lyrics and sound?!?! From all I’ve seen and heard the past 30 years there’s absolutely no way! These guys and many more such as YES, ELP, KING CRIMSON, GENESIS, JETHRO TULL, THE WHO and I could go on and on set the bar so high these spoiled generations these last few decades don’t have the hunger and passion it takes. MB’s… y’all are a true blessing!

I got to have the Moody Blues in my life while I was in Singapore in 1972. What a revelation! Absolutely loved the music. Can remember getting paid in beers to quote their poetry in bars at Sembawang. God they were great times.
Several notches above most any group out there..Man these guys are so smooth. They also have a great range of song types and all are terrific. I love "Voices in the Sky"..
Still listening now... Just a beautiful voice Justin has.. He is such a poet and an artist!!! His voice is angelic and just lovely...I love The Moody Blues!! The best band on the face of the earth!!!!!! Just stunning!!! 💙💙💙💙💙.... ❤❤️❤️❤️❤️.....
In 1981 I travelled as a 26 yo from Oz to Eurpope on the compulsory camping trip. Somehow finished up at 55 High Street, Cobham. Nice lady in the record shop next door took me next door upsatairs to the Moodies headquarters. She gave me copy of lithograph of long distance voyager, tee shirt etc etc. A time I will never forget.
Such beautiful words - This song makes me think of my recently deceased little dog who was my lifelong friend, my fluffster, Phoebe. Miss you every day x
This song is nothing short of magical and Justin's voice is nothing short of magnificent. I want to cry every time I hear this because it is so achingly beautiful.
I just saw Justin last Thursday and he looks good and sounds even better. I never thought I would ever get to see him but I was so excited and still am, God I love these guys
I shared this w/ a friend, and she kept calling it "The Bluebird of Happiness" song-and she's right! Listening to this song (as w/so many of the Moody's songs) makes me hapy!
This is one of my favorite rock and roll groups of all time. They are great. Like someone said earlier, the music of today can't compare with the groups from back then. These guys had talent. They didn't just make a bunch of noise that had a half ass beat to it. They were one of many great groups of artists from those days that were incomparable. It is a shame that such groups don't exist today. They were in it not just for the money, but they loved what they did and they had much talent.
They were pure genius with a poetic vision that touched our existential nature -- luring listeners to seek what we hadn't been taught with conventional academia.
Beautifully put I heard this song back in 1970 I was 10 years old I only heard it once or twice on a College Station in Gainesville Florida in I didn't hear it any longer for long period of time in in the mid eighties when they came out with C d's I saw the album of their greatest hits and I bought it I could never get enough for this song the elegance the beauty simplicity of it it's beautiful not much music today is like that but the thing I love about the sixties most of the artist were not concerned about commercialism in money my brother's friends who are of that age someone to Vietnam some did not but they realize the simplicity and elegance of the music and the artist. Fantastic song fantastic group of always enjoyed The Moody Blues and ELP and many others. Thank you and God bus are you guys.. 🙂😌😽🙋♂️🖖👍✌
The Moody Blues is one of the most underrated musical groups in today 's music world. It is really a shame that they still have not been inducted in R&R Hall of Fames. They are probably the first musical group that employs orchestra assembly with their songs. They are truely the pioneer of a so called "Rock Opera" music.
Absolutely timeless! Just as heavy and thought provoking today as it was the first time I heard it......oh so many years ago. Peace, Best Wishes and Hope
So many beautiful songs to listen to, so many wonderful stories and poems to read, so many delcious things to drink, smell and eat. Hope I never run out of days, thanks for posting this rainbow at the end of a brilliant day!
Back in the day, we used to trip to the Moodies all the time, and this song was a favorite. The good LSD is long gone, but the songs remain. Rather nice.
Jim VanDePutte Very glad to hear it. Last time I encountered some kid who had "acid, JUST LIKE the 60's," (this was in 1980,) all he had was a bit of strychnine. They actually thought a few "body rushes" constituted an LSD trip. Hey, that was the signal that we were about ready to really "get off," and the highly visual stuff was about to begin.
Hubby and I saw The Moody Blues here in Wichita on the Final Tour. 3rd Row Center, right in front of Justin. Ladies, I don't have the words for how wonderful he still is. Voice, bod- the whole package. Twice I have been blessed to see this Fantastic Group, live and in person. I am so Blessed. My All Time Favorite Group. Thanks Moodies for all the years of Beautiful Music!

Several notches above most any group out there..Man these guys are so smooth. They also have a great range of song types and all are terrific. I love "Voices in the Sky"..

One of the few bands whose music can get me so deep into thought and in a totally hypnotic state. 100% Total talent.
THEY INVOKE SUCH BEAUTIFUL MELANCHOLY... PEACEFUL, JOYFUL... THEY SING OF LOVE. YOU'LL RUN WITH YOUR FRIEND FOREVER. :-)
This song is nothing short of magical and Justin's voice is nothing short of magnificent. I want to cry every time I hear this because it is so achingly beautiful.
My favorite band in the early 1970s, and even today I love them!
Beautiful song with great flute accompaniment by Ray Thomas.......
This is one of the best songs of the Moody Blues-one of my favourites.Justin Hayward has got such a divine voice. He is awesome.
I just saw Justin last Thursday and he looks good and sounds even better. I never thought I would ever get to see him but I was so excited and still am, God I love these guys

Beautiful voice and beautiful man gosh 😍🥰💞
YES - so right about that - he is the TOTAL package of a man. THe Moody Blues are ethereal - like no other.......
+8armwrap Cool.....
They did the absolute best job of combining classical music with rock. An amazing accomplishment.
This has always been one of my very favorite songs, they have made some of the most beautiful music.
They are a glimpse of pure HEAVEN!
I second that, beautiful music that will never be composed again.
they are the "Choir of the Angels of Heaven" Angelic Wisdom
I melt when I see and hear this video....oh so beautiful voice and song and oh so handsome of a man
masterpiece!!!
beautiful melody, beautiful lyrics, beautiful voice...beautiful Justin, so cute...;-))
One of my favorite songs ever since I heard it as a child 20yrs ago😊. Never gets old!
Always loved the Moody blues, Justin Hayward has an incredible voice!!
One of thee most lilting, mellow and prettiest songs from that era...
I lay awake with the sound of the sea, calling to me....
+Scott Urquhart I lie awake while I gotta pee, I'm to lazy
Back in the day, we used to trip to the Moodies all the time, and this song was a favorite. The good LSD is long gone, but the songs remain. Rather nice.
Really, good LSD is all around. You need to know peopl. Tripped great last, same feeling and high as 40 some years ago! ;)
After 50 plus years as a fan, I never get tired of listing to them as a band and solo performance's. All ways grateful 😘😘😘
Thanks Moodies for all the years of Beautiful Music!
dislikes are weaknesses displayed by a closed mind. Nothing in the world brings more joy to the masses than the beautiful expressions of such wonderous music!
