Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

After working this spring at the Co-op in Alvinston Ontario Canada has given me even more hope that Im doing something positive for the world and not dwelling and killing myself in the meantime.
Farming is its own therapy in a way, the stresses and anxiety is actually focused on an positive outcome.

Be careful in those bins. I had an uncle who got sucked into a grain bin in Saskatchewan. His adult son saw what happened and he ran the front end loader into the corner of the granary and tore it open. The uncle's life was saved. The cousin turned out to be a hero who saved a life. Take care. Granaries can be dangerous. We have an acquaintance who saw his two young daughters get sucked into canola as it was being unloaded. They were suffocated and the father was right there. No one needs that kind of grief!

Am prior Air Force and have visited there before Zach. Neat system. Technology has passed it by now this day and age. Pretty old system.

Sounds like that sprayer is basically a really big repurposed electronic fuel injection system. Now, you said that the nozzles had lighting. If each nozzle had a light, and the lights could be strobed in sync with the nozzle pulses, it would freeze frame the spray pattern. That would be really cool at night.

So you never have to do the thing that none of us ever did with a dead end system of backing the boom into the hedge and turning the spray on and waiting for the chem to reach the boom ends….

That missile silo is near Langdon I think. Cut alot of wheat near there. That's actually part of a radar installation I believe that is shut down now

I was surprised to see the Nekoma radar station. I grew up on a farm 5 miles from there when it was being built and during its very short period of operation.

Been an avid fan of your videos for over a year now and have gone back and watched almost all from the beginning. It's fascinating how technology has been integrated into farming.
A couple questions I have I don't recall if you mentioned in previous videos.....How many acres do you farm both owned or leased? How many bushels of corn and beans did you yield last year?

I have never been near a farm before, but I find this content fascinating and kind of wish I worked at a farm. I understand it's stressful, difficult, and expensive, but damn it seems way way better than sitting at a computer 12 hours a day.

That new sprayer and sprayer trailer looks like a slick set up! To bad the chemical trailer wasn't painted green instead of orange.......

Saw someone try to take a tall sprayer through a railroad underpass. Unsuccessfully. Glass flew everywhere 😢

I hope some of that rain followed you back and to South Dakota. They really need it.
