Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

One day your son is going to realize how special it was to get to work and learn with his Dad AND Granddad. :)
Ujfd
Time to get the girls involved. Easy for them to get left out when the eldest is a boy. Girls make just as good operators as boys ( sometimes better as they tend to do as they are shown and not experiment on their own)
Soak it up and enjoy dad's teaching!
I got to work in the garden as a young kiddo with mine. We just didn't have youtube around to keep the memories alive forever
I am pretty sure he knows. Although, we were both teenagers ourselves and we probably wouldn't admit it to anyone or ourselves. Onyx is a smart young man . To me he is living the dream, cause he has his dad and grandfather. I really miss mine.
Your wife deserves applause for the deadpan jokes about the corn! She managed to just roll with that whole dialogue....she could do stand-up comedy at any club....if farming and youtube fail, that should be her backup plan!
Mrs Becky said she "Like her corn when it's fully e - - - t". I see what she did there. Lol
You gotta be proud of that boy getting in to the swing of things so smoothly. Good job, you and the misses.
Hey Zach,
Thanks for continuing to making videos and bringing a little piece of home to my home office here in New Jersey (Just moved out here a few months ago from Chaska). I smell the fresh corn & dust from here. Have a good rest of harvest.
Stuck nuts are always a pain. Not that this is new to you but sometimes tightening and then loosening a few times can crack em loose. It sounds counterintuitive but sometimes it works. That or heat it a nice cherry red colour. Then put your impact on it.
Onyx sees mom and gets hungry, Pavlov would approve
Crack of 8 a.m. IS early when sunrise is after 7:30 a.m. up here in the north!
Awesome video Zach. Had to laugh when Onyx asked if you had any food. Then denied filling his lunch box full that morning.
Stay safe guys. 🚜🚜🚜
10:50 was wondering if you switched off Busch Light
Get the draper one it will work well for down corn
Time to go pheasant hunting 😊 going to be a tuff season for ya .
Pb blaster and a very big breaker bar.
Makes me appreciate my geringhoff head after watching this
Why do you still have the cords hanging from the sweatshirt?
I think is ottowa or Ontario's but there was a gain bin fire elevator fire and I said to my mom that's a huge loss on the farmer because the owner was saying that there was over 67000 bushels of corned it looked like Andover 27 fire departments responded to that call
Can I buy from FBN if I live in Canada?
Not if you are smart.
So cool to see Onyx stepping into his dads shoes just like zack did with dad. Love the humor that Becky didn’t obviously pick up. Or she was just did but was just putting it right back down. Love it guys!
Oh she started and it was playing him like a fiddle.
they both knew lol@@warrendemars
Zack is growing a beard for a new upcoming role. Glad to see his acting career starting to take off after all these years of playing a farmer
Zach is quite a character isn't he 🤣🤣
Good to see the wife and kids. Thanks for sharing your life with America.
And the rest of the world 😄 greetings from Holland
I like your extra corn storage over the cab. That is standard on all combined, but nobody admits to using it!😊
Seems like they could make a grain hopper extension that goes over the cab to increase the combine capacity, especially since there always seems to be grain up there!
That’s for deer season
Cab Corn
We definitely grow cab corn every year😂
"Deliberately bating deer with corn" is illegal is some states. Not sure about "accidental spillage" along the deer run trail? 🤔
One day Onyx will look back and realize he did something a lot of little boys could only dream of, Farming with his Dad and Grandpa. He’s following in your footsteps and holds himself as a responsible young man. Keep up the good work guys!
I love farming with my grandpa and he also amazes me with new tricks on how to do something
Those were the cutest little chunky kitties i think I've ever seen 😂
Yall are an amazing family, thank you for all the great content. Best of luck the rest of the way
Keep it between the row!! Always appreciate the videos!! Nice cameo by Becky!! Good to see her impart her wisdom!!
When it comes to farming, I've always kept in mind that if it was easy it'd be called "growing"
Just like if fishing was, it'd be called "catching"
Ok
Yes, there's a reason why Horticulture is a science major!
Limp corn is so difficult to harvest. Becky is a hoot.
You should use your finger snap trick to make the corn stand back up, can't believe you didn't think of that. You're welcome
Just a heads up, air hose size has a HUGE effect on your impact power. Use half inch line, and get rid of any restrictions like swivels or joints. Run it at as high a pressure as your compressor will allow.
The extension also affect the power.
1" hose straight off the side of the air tank is what we use for the big gun
I think there is a safety bolt in there looks like it.
Adding some heat to the nut might have helped too.
First thoughts when I heard the impact gun was that it’s short of air. That 1” gun needs at least a 3/4 line and a big compressor otherwise next to useless in my experience.
Amazing how much you are at the mercy of the weather!! It can make, or break, you. I appreciate your resilience of bouncing back and forth between soybeans and corn there. And I ALWAYS marvel at the farmer's ability to diagnose and fix nearly any problem with equipment. Thanks Zack, for taking us all along here and doing all the "doing's" it takes to get Becky enough material to make such wonderful videos. And she does wonders with that material. Thanks Becky. Love all you guys.
Great to see Becky if even for only 10 seconds. Harvest is looking good, keep feeding Onyx he's hungry!
It's great to see 3 generations working together. Onyx really seems to getting a better understanding of the farm. Your wife is funny. I never heard corn terminology like that.
Nice Bloomberg dig!!!
Love your videos, especially the daily or every other day posts, so thanks to Becky, for all your hard work on editing.
Keep it up!
Did I see cab corn in the shop
Bloomberg is a peckerhead
Thank you for your hard work and efforts in helping keep American agriculture alive.
Its great to see three generations out farming together! Praying for a safe and bountiful harvest!
Had to hit pause & admire that 9370 pulling into the shop. Man, that's a beast! Glad the corn conditions are turning around for you. Safe & productive harvest!
Great video as always but I would have to say the highlight was with Mrs. Millennial Farmer and her "pun" joke 😂😂😂😂
Great to see the whole family. You can sure see that Jim is missing, hope he is doing well.
Zack, hopefully we can meet Mom sometime soon. We all know she is the glue of the whole operation.
Can't get enough of Onyx's quiet efficiency! He definitely deserves a pay rise ;-)
A camera can never do justice to picking down corn. I feel for you. Stresses a person out. You rock in order to keep doing it and videotaping also. Most farmers would just go nuts picking down corn. Way to not comment on bushels per acre, every farmer does not miss that number.
Loved seeing all the kids in the video. Continued prayers for a safe and profitable harvest!
Hopefully everything’s going good up there for you guys. It’s going good for us down here in northern Illinois🌽🌽
Where’s Cat Dog ? Or did I miss something
I'm hoping he's with Jim.
Jim's probably cat dogs cat food
I asked that question a week ago - no reply . 😢
Zach~~~ You, your Dad and your son are AMAZING! Onyx is one of most helpful "farmhands" anyone has ever had! I am so happy your corn harvest is going so well! Harvesting downed corn is a pain the butt. Take care now! Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy, warm and happy! 🚜🚜🌽🌽 p.s. your wife is a hoot.... I believe she's glad that most of the corn is erect and not laying flat. 😁😊
You haven't seen a good hand then
New grain dryer for us this year. The Quadra Touch really is a mind calming addition. As you said, I sleep better at night now.
Zach, at 13:00 you were wondering about the impact. Are you running 150 psi or 90? Many years ago when I worked at a heavy duty truck shop, we were using 150 psi for the big impact guns because that was where you got them close to the rated output. We also had a 90 psi, regulated line for smaller guns and for airing up smaller tires, but we always found that the big stuff takes a higher pressure to get the job done. HTH…
All the best to you and thank you for sharing what you share with us! Very educating and good contet, and a big thank you to your editor and Wife Becky for the good work she puts into your videos. Best regards from Norway.
One thing I learned with them big impacts is if you hold the shaft tight in the direction you want to turn and not let it bounce it will hit harder. It's not a massive change, but it can make the difference between hammering endlessly or getting it to break free.
At this rate Jim might make it back in time for harvest lol
The love for family that you can see and feel on your farm is awesome and something I miss since losing my father in law last October. There’s something amazing about farming with family that can’t be explained or replicated.
25:55 Maybe next year you can spray the corn with Mydiksaflopin? Helps get that corn as high as an elephant's eye.
Love these videos, and love this family and the rest of the farmers across the Midwest because they provide the corn that I so dearly love to chow down on!!
We had a Wischek disk just like that where I used to work. There was a wrench with it for the big nuts, We
attached a chain to the wrench and pulled on it with a pick up to break them loose. OSHA approved. Becky cracked me up. I guess there's a blue pill that helps things stand up.
New Holland? 👀😵💫👍🤣🙃😆🙂🙃🙂🙃🚜🌽🌽🌽👏👏👏👏🍦
You are such a lucky man. You have your family to help with harvest, especially your son helping out. And watching you and your Father work together is always cool, hug him every day.
Maybe FBN has that blue supplement to make cornstalks stand up……
Does it need a bigger air hose to reach max torq?
Glad your harvest is working out. Keeping it between the rows, always.
Once had conditions like that. Cut across behind the down corn, make two fields, pick the gòod stand, you won't have as far to go on the one direction corn.
That one inch air impact you were using with that three inch socket. You need to use at least 170 psi of air with at least 3/4 air line. It sounds way underpowered.
Just love your videos! Grew up on a very, very small farm in South Carolina and I have thoroughly enjoyed you videos ever since I found you. I've had two back surgeries so I've had time to watch at least all up to last year's videos and enjoyed them all!! I'm 55 and your videos sure bring back memories!
Love the new kitties! And where has "cat dog" been lately?
I've been wondering the same thing.
Cutting season, he/she is probably hunting rats😂
15:55 Will the New war (Israel - Gaza) affect prices like happened with Ukraine war 🤔🤔
Well time will tell ...
Hi from a Norwegian farmer. 😀 Being a farmer is a life style, and you either born or married into it.
You’re married to it either way
Lots of new farmers that buy farms.
I thought it was really cool seeing Anna following the girls across the yard while they were playing. I'm glad to see that you're finally getting that corn situation under control. As always thanks for sharing the videos with us all Zach and blessings to you and your family brother.
That dog sticks to the girls like she's supposed to!
When I was a kid our German shepherd followed me everywhere to keep an eye when I'd go to the neighbour farm to work he'd be there haha. Loyal protectors
Onyx is precious. Teens are ALWAYS hungry.
Love the content! Great to see the whole family helping with harvest. Downed corn isn't just in Minnesota, here in IL too. Fight the good fight my friend.
You need a 3/4 air hose to flow enough air for a 1 inch gun.
Their developing a shorter corn that won’t blow over as much
Joe Rogan TRIES To Sound Smart... Fails
I didn't see a they/them latrine sign, kudos.
Boy it must get boring with such flat fields. Just finished beans here in Ontario Canada. Last field has a big nasty hill in it. Gotta be close to 40 degree slope going across it sideways. Only taking 1/2 a head width at the start to the hill and missing 2 feet on the far end because the combines sliding down the hill and cant hold it.
@ millennialfarmer I can now cross off my bucket list, watching your show while playing farming, simulator 22 while learning how to farm in collage
Wow 28 minutes of zach hating his occupation
They always look better the night before when its dark.......
12:50 I think you guys just need a buffer tank. thats a lot of hose to try and get full volume/pressure through, sure its big, but its long. a couple gallons a few feet away with a nice fat hose will make a difference.
Does anyone else see the corn on top of the carbine at the beginning
This weather is happening all over the world, same here in Tasmania and you couldn’t get further away from you than that.
It is raining 3 to 4 days a week just can’t get a run on.
Keep it between the rows 👨🌾
At least you're making progress despite harvest conditions. Nothing worse than down corn, mud, and rocks!!! Nice to see the family in the video.
Good to see your family outdoors and i love the humor you put into the video Zack, keep it going for us in Australia.
You don't have to drink coffee, because the AG1 has caffeine in it, via the highly concentrated green tea and cocoa lol
Thus why it gives you "energy"!
Great video your grain cart is the coolest
Long, frustrating harvest = some pretty solid content!
Sorry, I know that had to be frustrating, but we all appreciate you continuing to hold up the camera (and Mrs. Editor doing her magic!)
Disliked for the ag1 product content
You should buy Onyx his own combine
I don't think you would enjoy doing anything but farming. I used to sit in front of a machine 40 plus hrs. a week. To regain some sanity i switched to outdoor work for the rest of my working career. A bad week of outside work is much better than a day of inside work. Keep the faith, keep your smile.J.Au-en
Well I’d like to thank you for taking the time to show us your day to day work it’s much appreciated 👍🏻
Ohh that erect joke had me giggling 😂😅
How is Jim doing really miss him and I know you guys are good to see Onyx helping out when he can. I really enjoy watching your videos. May God bless you and your family and farm.
I don't think I should have been privy to Becky and your conversation about the corn stand. I felt it was one of those private conversation, 🤠🌽
Probably need bigger hose and fittings to move more air for the impact, it sounds like it's starving for air, check the CFM and PSI requirements. Also a special type of ratchet called a torque multiplier will triple the torque you apply, works with cheater bars or impacts.
Who's this guy Bloomberg 🤔....put some WD-40 On it overnight and the heat....hint for that down corner....use blue fertilizer next year....😮
We use the loader bucket to break loose our disc nuts. It's a Summer's and you get 2 big wrenches that are roughly 3 feet long. I add on a 4' heavy walled tubing over the 3' wrench bar, set the disc on the ground, one wrench goes on the opposite end nut resting on the ground and the loader bucket on the other end wrench.
Wrap Turf on the combine steps and teaching Didge to climb 🪜 steps. 11:00 or - Catdog can try. 11:27
IMPACT GUN 2000PSI ? I wonder if you could have broke loose that 3 INCH NUT if you did not have a 12 inch extension on the gun.
I know you lose some torque but do not have the math numbers.
TRY WITH NO EXTENSIONS NEXT TIME ZACH. or ?
Add 3 more extensions so you have a GOOD EXCUSE to have the dealer fix for you so you don't have to work on it in the shop lol 😆 😂
Arkansas officials took steps Tuesday to force a Chinese government-owned agricultural company to divest itself of 160 acres of Craighead County farmland and pay a $280,000 fine for failing to file timely disclosures to the state.
“The land in question is owned by Northrup King Seed Co., a subsidiary of Syngenta Seeds LLC, which is ultimately owned by China National Chemical Co. (ChemChina), a state-owned enterprise,” according to Attorney General Tim Griffin.
You know it's a serious operation when Zach busts out the safety glasses.
Hey Zack glad to see harvest is going good for you guys appreciate you sponsoring AG1 May have to get me some I appreciate the content you put out mean a lot because I am stuck in the city so I don’t get to see this every day anyways hope you have a great rest of your harvest and once again I appreciate what you do thanks.
I just found your channel, my first segment EVAH! Liked and Subscribed.
Good morning America, how are ya!!!! Say don'tcha know me...I'm yer native son....
I can tell you tales of harvesting by-hand in Poland for hay with a 1-horse wagon in a Communist version of a Co-OP...but that would make you laugh. I used to work on a dairy farm during my last 2 years of High School, 400 cows, twice a day and then bailing or other things during the day that needed attention; that is why i laughed at you shoveling out under the dryer and spreading out the residue. Daily maintenance of you facility never gets old.
Hauling out product, moving cows from one location to another, driving Deere 4240's around and going to sleep at night knowing you're putting milk on the table for kids to have in the morning or adding it to someones coffee!
---You guys should consider a Farmers-LAB sponsored by your local community college, attend it for 1 or 2 weeks and get 3 credit hours for agricultural studies or something. Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key, FL, does the same thing for their Dolphin-LAB study programs for a wide variety of topics. I used to work there too.
I would sign up to be your first student!
Mrs. Millennial did a great job of not laughing out loud!
Hi. I am a 75yr old that farmed in England up until our landlord sold the farm to a national park that reduced the usage by opening the land to the public and made the farm uneconomical so l have worked at several jobs as contract managers until l started my own company the sold up and retired.
I have only been watching you tube for three months while being hospitalised with damaged spinal nerve.
Anyway just wanted to tell you I love your channel. Still haven’t found out to watch your old posts in order but l will keep trying.
I will admit following Welker Farms as well but at least I admit it.
Keep going to feed old farts of ex farmers like me.
I will in future comment on content not my life history.
KEEP IT BETWEEN THE ROWS. ALAN P. Cornwall UK.
