His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

So cool to see Onyx stepping into his dads shoes just like zack did with dad. Love the humor that Becky didn’t obviously pick up. Or she was just did but was just putting it right back down. Love it guys!
Oh she started and it was playing him like a fiddle.
they both knew lol@@warrendemars
Good to see the wife and kids. Thanks for sharing your life with America.
And the rest of the world 😄 greetings from Holland
One day your son is going to realize how special it was to get to work and learn with his Dad AND Granddad. :)
Ujfd
Time to get the girls involved. Easy for them to get left out when the eldest is a boy. Girls make just as good operators as boys ( sometimes better as they tend to do as they are shown and not experiment on their own)
Soak it up and enjoy dad's teaching!
I got to work in the garden as a young kiddo with mine. We just didn't have youtube around to keep the memories alive forever
I am pretty sure he knows. Although, we were both teenagers ourselves and we probably wouldn't admit it to anyone or ourselves. Onyx is a smart young man . To me he is living the dream, cause he has his dad and grandfather. I really miss mine.
One day Onyx will look back and realize he did something a lot of little boys could only dream of, Farming with his Dad and Grandpa. He’s following in your footsteps and holds himself as a responsible young man. Keep up the good work guys!
I love farming with my grandpa and he also amazes me with new tricks on how to do something
Its great to see three generations out farming together! Praying for a safe and bountiful harvest!
It's great to see 3 generations working together. Onyx really seems to getting a better understanding of the farm. Your wife is funny. I never heard corn terminology like that.
I like your extra corn storage over the cab. That is standard on all combined, but nobody admits to using it!😊
Seems like they could make a grain hopper extension that goes over the cab to increase the combine capacity, especially since there always seems to be grain up there!
That’s for deer season
Cab Corn
We definitely grow cab corn every year😂
"Deliberately bating deer with corn" is illegal is some states. Not sure about "accidental spillage" along the deer run trail? 🤔
Thank you for your hard work and efforts in helping keep American agriculture alive.
Limp corn is so difficult to harvest. Becky is a hoot.
Loved seeing all the kids in the video. Continued prayers for a safe and profitable harvest!
Those were the cutest little chunky kitties i think I've ever seen 😂
Yall are an amazing family, thank you for all the great content. Best of luck the rest of the way
The love for family that you can see and feel on your farm is awesome and something I miss since losing my father in law last October. There’s something amazing about farming with family that can’t be explained or replicated.
Amazing how much you are at the mercy of the weather!! It can make, or break, you. I appreciate your resilience of bouncing back and forth between soybeans and corn there. And I ALWAYS marvel at the farmer's ability to diagnose and fix nearly any problem with equipment. Thanks Zack, for taking us all along here and doing all the "doing's" it takes to get Becky enough material to make such wonderful videos. And she does wonders with that material. Thanks Becky. Love all you guys.
Just a heads up, air hose size has a HUGE effect on your impact power. Use half inch line, and get rid of any restrictions like swivels or joints. Run it at as high a pressure as your compressor will allow.
The extension also affect the power.
1" hose straight off the side of the air tank is what we use for the big gun
I think there is a safety bolt in there looks like it.
Adding some heat to the nut might have helped too.
First thoughts when I heard the impact gun was that it’s short of air. That 1” gun needs at least a 3/4 line and a big compressor otherwise next to useless in my experience.
Zack, hopefully we can meet Mom sometime soon. We all know she is the glue of the whole operation.
Had to hit pause & admire that 9370 pulling into the shop. Man, that's a beast! Glad the corn conditions are turning around for you. Safe & productive harvest!
Zack is growing a beard for a new upcoming role. Glad to see his acting career starting to take off after all these years of playing a farmer
Zach is quite a character isn't he 🤣🤣
Keep it between the row!! Always appreciate the videos!! Nice cameo by Becky!! Good to see her impart her wisdom!!
You are such a lucky man. You have your family to help with harvest, especially your son helping out. And watching you and your Father work together is always cool, hug him every day.
Great to see Becky if even for only 10 seconds. Harvest is looking good, keep feeding Onyx he's hungry!
Great to see the whole family. You can sure see that Jim is missing, hope he is doing well.
Zach~~~ You, your Dad and your son are AMAZING! Onyx is one of most helpful "farmhands" anyone has ever had! I am so happy your corn harvest is going so well! Harvesting downed corn is a pain the butt. Take care now! Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy, warm and happy! 🚜🚜🌽🌽 p.s. your wife is a hoot.... I believe she's glad that most of the corn is erect and not laying flat. 😁😊
You haven't seen a good hand then
Love these videos, and love this family and the rest of the farmers across the Midwest because they provide the corn that I so dearly love to chow down on!!
What a privilege it is for me to see another man love and care for his son just like mine … my dad & I were very good friends all our lives … we never had a fall out … loved him til …. Still love him ….thanks Zach
Just love your videos! Grew up on a very, very small farm in South Carolina and I have thoroughly enjoyed you videos ever since I found you. I've had two back surgeries so I've had time to watch at least all up to last year's videos and enjoyed them all!! I'm 55 and your videos sure bring back memories!
We use the loader bucket to break loose our disc nuts. It's a Summer's and you get 2 big wrenches that are roughly 3 feet long. I add on a 4' heavy walled tubing over the 3' wrench bar, set the disc on the ground, one wrench goes on the opposite end nut resting on the ground and the loader bucket on the other end wrench.
Nice Bloomberg dig!!!
Love your videos, especially the daily or every other day posts, so thanks to Becky, for all your hard work on editing.
Keep it up!
Did I see cab corn in the shop
Bloomberg is a peckerhead
Another good one, Zack. It amazes me how much you farmers need to know, just to get by every day. Best wishes, stay safe.
Zach, at 13:00 you were wondering about the impact. Are you running 150 psi or 90? Many years ago when I worked at a heavy duty truck shop, we were using 150 psi for the big impact guns because that was where you got them close to the rated output. We also had a 90 psi, regulated line for smaller guns and for airing up smaller tires, but we always found that the big stuff takes a higher pressure to get the job done. HTH…
That is a big "WOW",3 generations working in the field !
Your wife deserves applause for the deadpan jokes about the corn! She managed to just roll with that whole dialogue....she could do stand-up comedy at any club....if farming and youtube fail, that should be her backup plan!
All the best to you and thank you for sharing what you share with us! Very educating and good contet, and a big thank you to your editor and Wife Becky for the good work she puts into your videos. Best regards from Norway.
One thing I learned with them big impacts is if you hold the shaft tight in the direction you want to turn and not let it bounce it will hit harder. It's not a massive change, but it can make the difference between hammering endlessly or getting it to break free.
Can't get enough of Onyx's quiet efficiency! He definitely deserves a pay rise ;-)
Glad your harvest is working out. Keeping it between the rows, always.
New grain dryer for us this year. The Quadra Touch really is a mind calming addition. As you said, I sleep better at night now.
When it comes to farming, I've always kept in mind that if it was easy it'd be called "growing"
Just like if fishing was, it'd be called "catching"
Ok
Yes, there's a reason why Horticulture is a science major!
At least you're making progress despite harvest conditions. Nothing worse than down corn, mud, and rocks!!! Nice to see the family in the video.
I thought it was really cool seeing Anna following the girls across the yard while they were playing. I'm glad to see that you're finally getting that corn situation under control. As always thanks for sharing the videos with us all Zach and blessings to you and your family brother.
That dog sticks to the girls like she's supposed to!
When I was a kid our German shepherd followed me everywhere to keep an eye when I'd go to the neighbour farm to work he'd be there haha. Loyal protectors
Good for Becky! Love that exchange!
Hopefully everything’s going good up there for you guys. It’s going good for us down here in northern Illinois🌽🌽
Well I’d like to thank you for taking the time to show us your day to day work it’s much appreciated 👍🏻
Once had conditions like that. Cut across behind the down corn, make two fields, pick the gòod stand, you won't have as far to go on the one direction corn.
Good to see your family outdoors and i love the humor you put into the video Zack, keep it going for us in Australia.
Hi from a Norwegian farmer. 😀 Being a farmer is a life style, and you either born or married into it.
You’re married to it either way
Lots of new farmers that buy farms.
You gotta be proud of that boy getting in to the swing of things so smoothly. Good job, you and the misses.
25:55 Maybe next year you can spray the corn with Mydiksaflopin? Helps get that corn as high as an elephant's eye.
Love the content! Great to see the whole family helping with harvest. Downed corn isn't just in Minnesota, here in IL too. Fight the good fight my friend.
You should use your finger snap trick to make the corn stand back up, can't believe you didn't think of that. You're welcome
Long, frustrating harvest = some pretty solid content!
Sorry, I know that had to be frustrating, but we all appreciate you continuing to hold up the camera (and Mrs. Editor doing her magic!)
We had a Wischek disk just like that where I used to work. There was a wrench with it for the big nuts, We
attached a chain to the wrench and pulled on it with a pick up to break them loose. OSHA approved. Becky cracked me up. I guess there's a blue pill that helps things stand up.
New Holland? 👀😵💫👍🤣🙃😆🙂🙃🙂🙃🚜🌽🌽🌽👏👏👏👏🍦
How is Jim doing really miss him and I know you guys are good to see Onyx helping out when he can. I really enjoy watching your videos. May God bless you and your family and farm.
Does it need a bigger air hose to reach max torq?
Thanks Zac just did my first AG1 order !!
why dont he use a corn reel
Mrs Becky said she "Like her corn when it's fully e - - - t". I see what she did there. Lol
I love this, makes me farm sick. Makes me miss my dad like crazy (he grew up on a farm and hated it lol) very educating and inspiring.
Hey Zach,
Thanks for continuing to making videos and bringing a little piece of home to my home office here in New Jersey (Just moved out here a few months ago from Chaska). I smell the fresh corn & dust from here. Have a good rest of harvest.
Good luck with harvest
Great video as always but I would have to say the highlight was with Mrs. Millennial Farmer and her "pun" joke 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for all the hard work.
At this rate Jim might make it back in time for harvest lol
Omg girl you impress me with your abilities and desire to farm. Keep up the good work. I was raised on a small farm and cherish every memory I have including when I pulled the toung out of The wagon same as you did.
Love the new kitties! And where has "cat dog" been lately?
I've been wondering the same thing.
Cutting season, he/she is probably hunting rats😂
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting.
Lots of farm areas are like you, rain on and off and muddy conditions. Makes for a long day in the mud. Larsons had a combine stuck but got it out.
Blown over corn is hard to deal with. Takes a lot more time to combine.
Onyx is hungry. Poor kid. Fix him up some chow mom and dad. Growing young boy-ha!!!!
Always maintenance repairs on combines and tillage equipment. You have had your fair share on the corn header operation. You and dad get it fixed and rolling again in good time.
Hopefully you can continue corn harvest and move right along. Doing good so far.
About it for now I guess. Thanks for everything Zach and Dad and onyx and editor Becky.
Thanks.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
Maybe FBN has that blue supplement to make cornstalks stand up……
Where’s Cat Dog ? Or did I miss something
I'm hoping he's with Jim.
Jim's probably cat dogs cat food
I asked that question a week ago - no reply . 😢
Man, onyx is livin the dream, getting to work on a successful farm with not only his dad, but his grandad, i have never even seen mine as my last remaining grandparent died the year I was born, but I’m very grateful that I get to live and work on a first gen farm with my dad. It’s an amazing experience as we both learn something everyday, there is definitely a ton of knowledge to learn, and we are just getting the hand of it(our 3rd year) but after a few long and hard seasons, things are starting to look like they have a bright side, so maybe one day my son will be working with me and my dad. Hopefully that day comes.
Onyx is precious. Teens are ALWAYS hungry.
Thanks
12:50 I think you guys just need a buffer tank. thats a lot of hose to try and get full volume/pressure through, sure its big, but its long. a couple gallons a few feet away with a nice fat hose will make a difference.
A little secret about your impact gun that you might try that has worked for me. use a portable 5-10 gal. air tank where you are working with your 1/4'' or 3/8'' inch hose input, and use a 3/4'' or 1'' hose about 8' or less out of the portable tank. It really makes a huge difference in the volume of air and pressure to the gun. Also run the max pressure you can to the gun within specs. lastly use air tool oil or hydraulic oil in your gun every time you use it. Try it you will be amazed!
One Horney Farmer has a tool to quicky change gathering chains by compressing the spring. I recall that he bought his thru New Holland (Case-IH)
Great video your grain cart is the coolest
When I farmed in 1975 we had a 4400 John Deere combine the last 300 acres of corn the stalks were wet and fell down the only thing we had to get the corn up was a small grain head it was slow but we didn't lose much corn another good show if it wasn't so far from south Georgia to Minnesota I would enjoy helping with corn harvest with a little experience farming by planting 1000 acres of corn and after farming I drove a truck over the road for 37 years
Just a little tip. The 1” gun needs a 3/4 or 1” inch hose line. Won’t run at spec on a “normal” air hose
Feeling your pain....we Beta-tested one of the first FMC sweet corn harvesters back in 1970 and elevator chain disconnects drove us crazy until we solved the cause of the problem where the head was depositing the ears which occasionally got trapped and unlinked the chain leaving it 30 feet behind the machine. A simple flap and never happened again but you're dealing with Nature's fury and that can be more frustrating.
For that mess under the dryer, you could put some tin sitting up at an angle underneath it to get that mess to slide in one direction for easier cleanup. You could also put something on skids at the bottom to catch it all so that you could just grab in with the skid steer to dump occasionally.
Thanks for showing us how it's going. Hope the weather gets better for you. All the best 🇬🇧.
It’s always an awesome day when millennial farmer posts a video
Ag1 tried getting in the UK 🇬🇧 ... like watching you're farming family life when I can
When using the impact put a big pipe wrench to help loosen and tighten the nut
All socket extensions are torsional springs and therefore soften the impact torque to the nut.
My son is 10 and wants to be a farmer he got to ride in a combine last week and was in heaven. He watches your channel all the time,
I used to work at Great Plains building gangs and the jig that they're put together in is crazy! The air gun is stationary to the jig because of the amount of torque to tighten that gang nut. Every once in awhile we had to remove one by hand and it's not easy. Loving the videos 📹
I rememer last years harvest was super easy and you kept telling us how everything was going so smooth... You jinxed yourself.
You need a bigger hose for your big impact that can feed it, 3/4 inch inside diameter would be about the minimum. 1 inch guns tend to be a bit hungry for air. You may also need to upgrade your air storage and add in a big air tank so your compressor won’t run all the time when using things like that impact.
great video Zach. Thank you and your family
Probably need bigger hose and fittings to move more air for the impact, it sounds like it's starving for air, check the CFM and PSI requirements. Also a special type of ratchet called a torque multiplier will triple the torque you apply, works with cheater bars or impacts.
What size air hose was that on the big impact? 3/8”? To get all the power out of those impacts, they need all the air you can possibly feed them. 1/2” hose minimum and if you run a regulator, turn it all the way up as high as it will go. 3/4” to 1” feed line really helps too. You can also put a T in before the regulator with a high volume quick connect for a dedicated impact hose.
Nice to see the wife, I know she is extremely busy also but glad to see her in the field… thx for the video !!!
Check all the fittings for your airline. For your big impact gun, you may have a restriction with a small fitting. Or you have Weak pressure PSI 170 preferred. Cheap air fittings tend to have low flow
Thank you Becky, Zack and Nate 1.0!
Always at the Mercy of the weather that's farming. Take care
@ millennialfarmer I can now cross off my bucket list, watching your show while playing farming, simulator 22 while learning how to farm in collage
Thanks for keeping us up to date on what's happening out there.
You need a 3/4 air hose to flow enough air for a 1 inch gun.
Would love to hear some more explanation as to why you use certain tractors with certain implements for newbies like me who don’t know but just like watching and learning about what you do!
Hey Zack glad to see harvest is going good for you guys appreciate you sponsoring AG1 May have to get me some I appreciate the content you put out mean a lot because I am stuck in the city so I don’t get to see this every day anyways hope you have a great rest of your harvest and once again I appreciate what you do thanks.
Great shot back at Bloomberg.
Great video Zach, thanks for sharing
