Great video, I like your analysis.
Personally, I been using the NG+ to do the alternative quest lines that would normally cause issues playing both sides. Example, 1 playthrough I was in the UC and another I was in the Crimson Fleet.

I’d have 2 main game saves. The 1st one if the base game (no NG+) where I try and max my level and skills that I want:
e.g. piloting, astrophysics, wellness, fitness, etc maxed.
Basically this is the ultimate “hero build” that you’d expect from a Starborn to have. The rest of the skills will be unlocked at level 1 to make progression optional/easier.
The 2nd base save is exclusively a NG+ save with everything above carried over. But it will be set for NG+8 as I think the space suit you get there looks the best

Also FYI: you get to keep your research and research progress with NG+. Meaning if you only needed 1 item to complete a research and then did NG+ when you check your research you will see you still only need that 1 item like before NG+.
As to is NG+ right or not. That is like asking what flavor of ice cream do you like. It isn't the same for everyone, but there are some trends. As Lt Eggnog said do what is right for you. For ME I'm on my 4th NG+ each iteration I don't do the main quest BUT I do all of the faction quests, and putter around the universe some before I make the run to the next iteration. I find rebuilding wealth isn't that hard so that I can make my own ship. I have enough perks that it makes fights fairly easy with conventional weapons, and my powers are just starting to get to the powerful side. Really they would need to be a few more ranks higher, and well that will take time the way I play. (FYI I'm not in a rush)
One bug I've had that was REALLY annoying, was I started 1 NG+ and ended up with kids at the lodge.. /sigh my game bugged out and wouldn't let me save. I sooo wish I could have kept that world. It would have been interesting, and would have definetly done whatever quest was there to do.

I did about 30 hours of content and before I finished the game the first time, then I saw the powers level up with every universe and cap at 10 so I spent another 25 hours or so running through all 10 universes and hitting all the temples. Now I am thoroughly pleased with all the powers I have and I feel I can slow down and play the game.
If you are going to play like I did I highly recommend spamming Grav Dash with a quantum essence to get too every temple faster and speed up the process :)

Ive got almost 400 hours in SF now, I can safely say that I would NOT rush NG+. Take your time with the first universe and experience everything the game has to offer.
THEN back up your save files or make a new profile in your mod manager and continue to NG+.
This way you can always go back to your original universe but you can also see what the continued story offers.
I plan on making a new game soon and creating a new profile in MO2 for each NG+ mode. I am doing this so I can create content for each NG+ mode but for normal players this is still a great way to progress in Starfield. It leaves all your options open to return to your earlier universes.

I loved NG+, but mostly because I knew how it worked beforehand.
Basically finished what I have started but saved enough content for my not so friendly alter ego to keep it interesting.
And the ball is still rolling, "rebuilding" becomes quite easy with skills and you know a few level scaled weapon spots.
I wonder if the armor "name" you get is based on your previous games focus point, once I saw the great serpent.
Take note of the shape right before the credits roll.

Sadly it does change how you play, you don't "loot" things unless it necessary. I am on NG+5 now and the powers, wow. You as a character are very different. Its a different game all together. If I go back to replaying many of my Original universe quest It would not be the same. lvl 62 now. with maxed out sneak and void cloak you cant be seen and if you are seen they wont live long enough to do anything about it.

I just launched NG1 yesterday, didn’t really want to, was planning on fully leveling up before I did but I’m my first world I had at least ten missions I couldn’t complete due to glitches. Even after the patch my Neon ship tech was still in ocean, mystery ships weren’t interacting properly among, temples not showing up, other things. So I decided to pass through the gate. Unfortunately, I sort of rushed through the main questline and I just mostly did the Freestar main faction questline. It was too sudden. So, I made new character andt this time I am starting it slow. At first, I thought the ending to this game was stupid. Like, you spent all the time getting resources, building ships, outposts, and getting into romances only to have them gone, even Sarah if you romanced her is gone, which is also contradicting, becuase the multiverse guy tells you that Sarah goes along with you to become starborn and that you will start a family together, apparently this doesn't happen and you are left with romancing her again from the beginning if you choose to do so, but aside from all that nonsense, it's one of the coolest new game plus mechanics I have ever seen in game and that fits into the story so immersively. That and having different dialogues each time you are in a new game plus and the ability to do all the questlines differently and choose different outcomes. Also, that you can choose to romance someone else if you into having a multiversal affair, lol. I am also very curious if say one were to find some secret feature or hidden secret in the game depending on how many times you go into a new game plus. Like 27 times since the game has been in development or any other number that has meaning pertaining to this game.

Late to the video I see. I knew sbout the NG+ ramifications early on so I had decided to play as much of everything there is first play-thru so I can appreciate whatever lies ahead there & all the work the devs did to create this game. I've skipped back & forth through the quest lines & haven't felt any need for an outpost or bespoke ship, though I'll probably attempt both eventually.
At the moment I'm a Captain Ranger Operative Pirate working for Constellation and aspiring to be Starborn. My girlfriends (yes I have two) & I with our trusty crew Barrett & Amelia visit planets helping where we can & kicking ass as necessary to bring justice to the universe. 🙂
As of this post 171.5 hrs in, I am feeling like there is still more to draw out of the game. I guess there are still several temples to find because I haven't got all my powers yet. The NG+ feels like a typical prestige system only with the twist of it being in an RPG. I find the concept behind it fascinating & am really looking forward to it, when I get there, when I feel finished with this life.

I haven't rushed. First playthrough is always the best if u explore and take everything in as much as u can, don't watch how to play videos and create your own journey.
And I like natural progression in games, I like challenge and that combats are challenging and not easy walkthroughs and I want upgrade my own ships which I either have got from side missions, stole or bought or build. Thats why I dont think "being all powerfull from start" adds anything to the game. Its like u playing the game in beginner easiest level. Where is the fun?
I will play NG+ after I have done everything I want in my first play through and when I feel like I wanna play the main mission again.

I just started NG +, I was getting frustrated that I couldn't find the last temples but realized that is because I sided with one or the other. I was level 90 when I started the final mission. I did all of the factions, but Ryujin was glitched and I could never fix it. I sided with the UC over Crimson Fleet, but I realized I missed so much evidence that I could not go back and get because they were locked behind the actual mission parts. Plus my New Atlantis spaceport was a disaster, the ground was glitched out and it was getting annoying. I can confirm that starting NG + fixed that. I haven't decided fully what I am going to do, play fast or take my time, probably I will go halfway on things. I won't waste time on outposts and I probably won't try to build a ship, but I will replay Ryujin for sure to try and finish that, and go through the faction stuff again, maybe this time I will side with the Crimson Fleet, haven't decided on that one yet.

One thing that is annoying is when you start new game plus and lose all your inventory. I would understand losing homes or chest items you left in your homes as when you move over you are starting in a new universe. But they could have least allowed you to keep everything thats in your personal inventory, credits, ship cargo and your ships, since your ships are in your inventory as you can see them in your main menu.
It feels like to me it either never play new game plus so you dont lose anything or just do your constellation quests to unlock new game plus and spam that 10 times until you get to new game plus 11 and then put the effort in as you get to keep your stuff. With my first character im not going to play new game plus cause im not losing all my stuff that i work hard for. Im planning on making a 2nd character just do the constellation quests only to unlock new game plus and only do that until i get to new game plus 11.

One thing to note, especially if you are on normal difficulty or above, do not stick to your starborn spacesuit & your Guardian ship. The superior Tracker's, Explorer's & Bounty Hunter spacesuits are far superior to any starborn spacesuit. A well built Class C custom ship will outdo the maxed out starborn guardian starship.

    • @LTEggnog
      @LTEggnog  8 месяцев назад

Very true! The only benefit I see to sticking to the suit is that it’s an all in one helmet/suit/pack so you can save a ton of weight but that’s not really necessary if you have good stuff. Good points though!

    • @ozymandiastotb8925
      @ozymandiastotb8925 8 месяцев назад

Yup... weight is perhaps the main advantage of sticking to the starborn spacesuit.
Sooo... for all those who rush through 9, 10 NG+ for spacesuits, it's a real kick in the nuts. Not everything in life is about going fast.
More cons than pros for NG+. Only real pro thing is upgrading powers.

I find it very interesting , no one apart from Bethesda knows the full run down for NG+, given all those who have done it 10 times, many, if not all. Have yet to see anyone do a exact same run and have exact same things happen, more so the game took 27 years in development, I strongly believe rushing NG+ is the biggest mistake anyone can do in terms of immersiveness and what the game has to offer, History of Bethesda and the future, I can't believe they'd take so long ina games development only to have players rush through NG+ or atleast 10 times literally rendering you unable to have a full experience of the game . A bit more to it but hats off to all those who have grinded this game harder than any coffee grinder ever grinded anything.

  • @khele2k

I think new game plus is worth it overall, you get improved powers, a really cool looking suit (I still think the first one is the best), a ship that's really cool but not good overall (you can build a ship 100 times better, mostly due to the poor solar weapon on the Guardian ship), the Trader and new dialogue options. BUT if you've already built a ton of outposts or built some cool ships I'd definitely hesitate. The powers are already pretty good even on the first level and the ship and suit you get, especially at NG+1, aren't that strong. The suit gets pretty OP the further you go (and the powers get crazy strong), but the ship will never be that good despite how cool it looks (plus it goes invisible when you boost and the torpedoes slow down enemy ships so it has some cool perks, but the weapon damage is horrible).
Weapons get better the higher you level up so they're good right away in NG+, plus you keep all your skills, levels and research and you remember the planets you've been to (so you can go to Cydonia, Akila and Neon right away). You make money fast selling stuff you pick up (especially weapons), so just go to Neon and sell everything after each mission. At first I thought the new dialogue was lame, but there's one really big moment that made it worth it. I won't say more, just always pick the Starborn dialogue options whenever they're available.
I redid the Constellations storyline in my first NG+ and then speedran NG+2 and NG+3 before settling on NG+4 to really take my time with it (always get all the Powers every NG+ btw). I picked 4 because I think the Starborn suits that have the cloaks are ugly and NG+4 has a really cool suit. If you don't care about the suits consider settling on NG+6 for the fully ramped up Guardian if you like that ship because that's its top level. NG+8 has the last non-cloaked Guardian suit so if you are willing to grind that long that's not a bad one either.
My only last thought is that you have to play the God awful Entangled mission again if you don't skip the main missions and that's one of the worst designed missions in the history of gaming in spite of the cool premise.

the hell with all this...why lose everything for a crappy ship and crappy armor, ya no way !! I build the best ship you can build have some best legendary armor i dont understand why anyone would reset and lose everything just for a few dialog changes LOL

I will say the armor is statistically some of the best armor in the game and it also is an all in one so it’s a suit/helmet/and back which cuts your weight down a ton. Also you gain your money and loot back much faster as you go and level and it all scales with you.
Not trying to persuade you, you should play how you want! But it’s not as bad as it sounds. You can always make a new character to try it or a second save too.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts though!

To me it feels lazy and pointless. If I want to do it all over again, I would make a new character. And in a game about exploration if feels weird to use your knowledge and power to go into a new reality that is essentially the same as the old one, rather than exploring rest of the galaxy you are already in.

You definitely raise some good points there. I think it’s just about becoming as powerful as you possibly can be it but idk how necessary that is

    • @ertymexx

@@LTEggnog sure, but since those powers are barely useful at all, what's the point? The gadget you get from Ryujin is far more useful than all powers save one (the oxygen one is extremely useful what with all the overloading).

Since you can beat the game on very hard with a common beowulf , not even a blue one. The powers seem irrelevant to me.
Although fun to use they have little to no combat necessity to beat the game on very hard.
Find a common beowulf , put some particle weapons on your ship. Beat very hard 1000 times , rinse repeat.
Game is made for brain dead morons like myself.

Lol I turned into the hunter on my first playthrough! Started off eager, making ships, exploring, enjoyed it at first, then got a bit bored, tried quests, got even more bored, then frustrated, then completely impatient, then absolutely annoyed and blasted my way to the end in god mode, skipping all dialog and combat.
I did 140+ hours, main quest, crimson fleet, vanguard, a bit of freestar and plenty of radiant quests.
This game is not my thing, it's not really an rpg like people say. You're very much stuck on the path of the quest most of the time, and the choices are very limited and often idiotic. The main story is unbearable. I miss the ability to take matters into your own hands like in fallout 4, where you can just kill father, or the Railroad, or Nukaworld. Here I cannot just show up at the Key, or the lodge, and go in guns blazing... doesn't work. Not that I want to just murder everyone but you cannot betray them, or refuse them outright... which is super frustrating imo.
I'm kinda sad about it, it's a very beautiful game but the quests make no sense, the dialog is torture, and it's just unsatisfying in the end, for me. I'd have to role play a completely gullable fool for the game to make any sense 🤣. The only quest that I did kinda like was the Terramorphs quest... but even there i just skipped ALL the dialog. Yet I somehow knew exactly what was going on as if I hadn't skipped a thing 🤣
As for ng+, I spent so much time making awesome ships there's no way I'm leaving that behind lol. And those powers are really not worth the hassle. I mean if I want space magic I'll play Star Wars Fallen Order.
I'm waiting for mods to see if they can fix the game. I do wanna retry the game, but not in this state.
I know for a fact that the instant the Creation Kit comes out, I'm making a mod where I can stop the main quest and tell constellation to shove it, or just hand over the artefacts to the star born... and have the ability to betray Delgado and give Kryx legacy to Ikande when doing the pirate quest (After having refused deep cover initially)... or just make Delgado killable... etc...

Pro : you can skip stuff
Con : you are playing Starfield
I am at whatever 7d16h is... 24 x 7 +16 = 184 hours? The game is breaking more and more often in ore and more hilariously rage inducing ways. Current huge bug = Permenant Slow motion that only allows you to shoot your gun 1 time and then you need to swap guns. Also if you jump, you are now floating in air. Would not allow me to fast travel since you cannot fast travel while falling 😮
Luckily once I entered my ship and landed again, slow motion became low frame rate. I am talking 6-12 FPS. Turning the game of and restarting the XBSX fixed it. Only took 30 minutes. Awesome game Todd you loser

@@LTEggnog I have had a TON of issues. Ship took off and took the city with it, when the city disappeared in space, it must have left the trade Authority kiosk in space because it was missing for the next 130+ hours. NG+ it came back. My city developed a fissure in the ground where I could jump down beneath the city. Luckily it happened AFTER they patched looting NPC chests from under the ground HAHAHA. I had all of the sound playing like 1000 samples at once so every word sounded like a demonic modulated voice from Cyber Hell. I have a clip but need to learn how to put it on RUclips. I have had all the UC security guards walking around without clothing on in their underwear for a week. NG+ seems to have fixed that. Lots of other stuff. this is just the stuff I can remember off the top of my head. Oh I was one of the lucky folks who had all of their ships cargo disappear from their ship as well. 2080kg of cargo gone, including all of my Legendary armor and weapons. turns out not a big deal as NG+ deletes all that anyways. sadly it happened when I only had 2 powers so about 22 powers before NG+

Your greed for being relevant before the hype leaves and giving out wrong information is why you have 18k views and only 300 likes. Your video hurts starfield. Every time you beat a universe and move to the next it's a complete new story, new interactions, same areas but it's a new universe. Let that sink in for a min. Your rush through a game made you miss the diamond of story and interactions. 😂😂😂😂

The biggest con is losing your sanity playing through this game over and over again without mods. Give it a year for quest mods to really kick off and save your sanity, the vanilla game is borderline garbage

So basically the whole game is pointless because everything you build up gets wiped.....over and over.
Had I known this before I bought it I would NOT HAVE.
