Ideal Logic F1 Fault How To Repair your combi boiler

Today I'm just at an Ideal Logic with low water pressure. So if you get an F1 fault on an Ideal Logic, I'm just going to show you how to top it up, how to fill it up, or how to re-pressurize it.
So if we have a look at the front there, it's showing F1 as a boiler fault. Now I've taken the case off from this boiler, just because it makes it easier for me to show you the pressure gauge. So pressure gauge is there, so if you see on there, it's on zero, all the way down there at zero, and it wants to be up that black line there.
So what you've got bear in mind is, when you fill this up, is not to put too much pressure in. And you see all these valves, this one, there's the yellow one for gas, and then these ones at the back here, don't touch them, leave them alone. So these here are the only ones that you need to touch, so I'm going to explain what happens. So your system is sealed, and every now and again they'll need topping up and more water putting in.
So what we've got here, this pipe here is the cold water mains, so that's your cold pipe coming in. And then when you open this pipe here, this one, it'll allow water into there and round this flexible pipe here, and to there. So now that's still turned off. And as we open this here, as I turn this now in a minute, this pressure gauge will start to go up, and then that F1 fault will go off.
But as I say, you need to be very careful, and do this slowly, because you don't want to put too much pressure in. So I'm going to do it slowly, and I don't know if you can hear that, but water's now going into the system. And as were doing that, that pressure gauge there is going up. So I've only opened it a little bit, just for a demonstration on this video.
So it's saying FL, or F1 sorry, and the gauge is going up, so I'm just going to open this a bit more, and then the boiler's actually fired up. So that means the fault code's gone off, because the boiler's fired up. So I'm going to just switch the boiler off now, just so we can do it without the power on.
So we're just above now, where we're going to be, this will drop down a little bit as we use it. So turn that off fully, and then turn this one off fully. So that is how you filled up your heating, and there you go. So when I turn the power back on again, you see your fault codes have gone off, and then the boiler will just work now, as normal.
So we're just here today, I'm just going to do a service on this. So that's how you top up, fill up, and re-pressurize your Ideal Logic Combi boiler. Hope that was useful, thanks for watching. cchleeds.co.uk/...

Subscribed, is it dangerous if the pressure keeps rising? Because no matter how slow I open the valve it continues rising after I've closed it, any tips?

A week before christmas and the water is cold, an F1 is flashing, green neon is bold. I've no clue what happened I just know it's cold.
An hour after tweaking I find Allen Hart, and two minutes later my boiler does start. A bath is run and the radiators are steaming, you saved me a callout and a bad xmas feeling. Thank you Allen, may your dreams all come true, my Yuletide is saved and it's all down to you.

I have f1 fault. Yet my pressure is fine. What else could be causing this fault?
I tried topping up pressure a little more and settled boiler and still f1.

Workmen are halfway thru installation of a new bathroom,mains water had been off earlier in the day and bathroom radiator removed temporarily, I went to switch my heat on the same evening and after 5 mins I noticed the quietness so knew the boiler wasn't doing its thing,checked the panel and it flashed up F 1 so youtubed on my fone,within 5 mins of watching ur video,problem was solved and heating back on,I'm a council tenant so it saved me numerous fone calls and hrs,even days of waiting on an engineer,thanks again Allen,ur instructions were clear and simple to follow 👍

My boiler had this problem 18 mo ago; the plumber came out and did what you have just shown us. This morning I have the same fault with no pressure on the gauge again. I couldn't remember which valves to open. Thanks to your clear instructions I've saved myself the need to call him out again. Cheers mate; top man!

Came down this morning and realised my
Boiler wasn’t working. My little 2 year old asking me while it was so cold.
Noticed the error message on the boiler and googled the issue. Your video came up and I followed the instructions and boom the heater is back up and running. Your a life saver

Just went 3 years turning the boiler on and off to reset this fault (briefly) as i was too worried about the charge from the plumber! Fixed in 2 mins, god bless you sir

Just got my boy in from football training and the boiler was on F1 like this. I gently released the water valve and repressurised the boiler. You absolute legend, thank you for sharing.

If you're still active on here then thank you. My service was done 2 days ago and he clearly didn't check the pressure as F1 has just come up. I've got a slightly newer version but it's the same process essentially. I've now got hot water again! Thank you! 😃
Thank you for this video! I had to bleed my radiators today as they were whistling whenever the heating was on. This lead to a loss of pressure and F1 error on my boiler. I couldn't understand the instructions in the boiler manual for repressurising the system, but your video explained it so clearly - thank you very much. Brilliant video 👍

Start looking for plumbers who can fix it on a Sunday but then consult the interweb and there you are, showing me very quickly precisely what to do.
