    Let’s just hope in two years time we can get some clarified answers to what could be happening to Anfield Stadium , after the extra revenue has been generated through the Main Stand sand the New Expanded Anfield Road Stand.

    I think the best move for the Kop would be to completely demolish it and make it steeper. I get that it doesn’t make sense to spend millions on just an additional 3-5K seats, but the Kop is so small that any renovation/expansion will involve dismantling it from the outside anyway. If they make it steeper they may not have to build over the road as much too.

  • @scott3232
    @scott3232 15 часов назад +4

    The big problem with expansion of the kop is the cost it would take to expand it.
    The Kop holds 12,800 the new Anfield road stand 16,000, that's only 3,200 more than the Kop already holds.
    To get the Kop to 16,000 given its footprint would need some major work. It obviously cannot mimic the Anfield road ends footprint because of the road behind it, even if they done a tunnel it's still a lot of work and would simply not be cost effective for an extra 3,000 seats.
    The Sir Kenny is possible with the 1st row of houses no longer there, however it would only be able to be similar to the Anfield road stand as in height and depth, the two sides of the Sir Kenny can possibly be filled in (not corners) which would add around an extra 7k-9k taking Anfield to above 70k capacity.
    This would make more financial sense as they can justify the extra seats and improved hospitality etc.
    It all depends on those who own the home's behind it, the will of our owners and transport.
    Quite a lot of variables which unfortunately will not be resolved anytime in the near future.

    • @greybeardmedia-merseysidebey
      @greybeardmedia-merseysidebey  15 часов назад

      Can be expanded but doubt it would be anything as big as Anfield Road but even smaller expansion like the corners would be very expensive but hopefully in the future the transport is better then planning can begin

    • @justthetruth1
      @justthetruth1 14 часов назад +1

      The kop can go higher and steeper without going further back. It's been done in other stadiums. The external concourse and commercial suites etc can be minimised for just more sear. There is enough boxes etc on the other 3 sides. It can be done

    • @scott3232
      @scott3232 14 часов назад +1

      @justthetruth1 yes it can but it's not cost effective. You can't get anymore than what Anfield road stand holds 16k with the Kop even going steeper. The Anfield road expansion cosy around 80m even say 60m for the kop it doesn't make financial sense for an extra 3k capacity so they won't even entertain that option, certainly FSG won't.

    • @justthetruth1
      @justthetruth1 13 часов назад +1

      @@scott3232yes it may not be enough but would most likely be a single tier stand like Dortmund. If you do the sides well too you might get an extra 5k in. I agree though money wise it doesn't stack up. SKD stand is the most likely next move I would say at least 8 years away from even the planning stage. FSG get knocked a fair bit but 2 new stands in their tenure alone is impressive.

    • @scott3232
      @scott3232 13 часов назад

      @justthetruth1 I get what you are saying mate but to do that to the Kop as in filling corners too, the Sir Kenny would definitely need to be done first. The roof and the current police control centre in the Sir Kenny would completely block any corner seats that side in the Kop and I'm not entirely sure it's possible to do what Dortmund done on the main stand either. That main stand truss is massive mate a lot bigger and heavier than any in the Dortmund stadium so might be wrong but not sure they could suspend that truss end like in Dortmund.
      Even if they could then that's going to be a very expensive option.
      I just think any capacity increase for LFC will need to be through building a new stadium now.
      You add the cost and everything like needing a lot of houses bought up which could easily go on for another 20+ year's then you have transport and congestion of a 75k stadium, it just seems like our options are stay at this capacity for a long long time or starting to make plans of a new stadium elsewhere that can handle transport etc and allow us to go to even 80k or more.
      Realistically we need a new stadium elsewhere to get a much larger stadium so it's whether the fans would prefer to stay put for obvious reasons or move and move with the times.

    I love Anfield but we had planning permission for Stanley Park and I wonder if they seriously looked at a new stadium? I would've been finished years ago and we'd be in a 70k plus stadium. I look at what Real Madrid and Barca are doing and we're being left behind!!!

    There are examples of solutions for all the stumbling blocks around the world and Uk even. Newcastle talk of expanding, and they've a lot less room than Anfield. Problems are there to be solved. Even if they made new roofs for older stands, which match the newer roof profiles, and added a few more boxes above. IDK?? Great video again though ta!!

  • @anthonyburns8768
    @anthonyburns8768 3 часа назад +1

    The easiest solution is for the owners to cough up for people to move , and bring in a rail link , what will that cost £30-£50 mill and then the build costs on top, its a fair bit of money however thats the cost of one player these days,

    I think FSG will be happy with this capacity, especially with further work requiring massive transport investment. They are making money. As long as their model gets to CL most of the time they'll be happy. Overall they underinvested a little in the team when it was needed and even now we're a few injuries away from serious problems as we don't have the top level depth.

    • @greybeardmedia-merseysidebey

      No ways forward now without better transport links even expansion of the kop corners which probably is easier of all options would take Anfield to atleast 65 000 in which a rail link would have to be needed

      I think the car park on stanley park for half the ground and the other half going into the park. Then build a new park and car park where the current stadium is along with other things like shops bars, restaurants. Better bus stops or a coach station and open up that old railway line. Obviously this would be at least 1-2B so we'd definitely need new owners 😂

    great vid gb correct me if im wrong but dont we still hold a lease for 100 years from when hicks and gillette ran the club they signed off with liverpool council for lease so i dont see why they dont re build a new stadium. as iconic as anfield if we has the space of stanley park not only could we replicate it but bring it up to the standard that is gonna be needed for the next 30 years the kop and skd stand are in bad shape and with stanley park we could build a tram line or a hub for getting in and out of ground not to mention if they knocked anfield down the money for the land alone could pay a massive chunk of any new stadium id rather stay at anfield but we have no room
