Walgreens has a set of two wooden boar's hair brushes for $11. They're just the right size for a beard and they're good quality brushes. They don't look girly. They distrubute products like oils, butters and waxes well. They also clean and dry easily. They're also good for head hair and scratching.
Great video man, i dont really have a very patchy beard anymore as i just had to age a little more before i could grow one. I first tried around 20ish but couldn't grow a good one until i was 28. Just takes time sometimes but my question is about the boars hair brush, ive been using one for going on almost 2 years now and though it does give a fuller and more kempt look, it hasnt yet seemed to train my beard hair to grow a certain way. Is that something thats gonna take a while?, or am i doing something wrong?, lol or may it just not work for everyone well? Thanks.
A biotin supplement will work. Even though I shave my head, it grows in faster now than before. I can say the same for my beard...however, due to an untimely trimming accident, I'm back to square 1 on that. But usually after 2-3 weeks, it starts to look fuller and better than it did before I started biotin. And he is right about the multi-vitamin. That's all beard supplements are.
I'm 22 and Im still pretty patchy, I'll give it a few more years and see if it fills in. I'm seeing in the comments a lot of guy's beards started filling in mid 20s
minoxidil definitely works! it gave me a beard in 4 months. I basically have the same beard you do except the connectors. I really really want the connectors but I think I genetically don't have them.. sucks.

I've used biotin most of my life cause it makes the hair on my head grow way faster and my nails. But it does not effect my beard. It's thin around the front of the chin and cheeks, and then long under the chin and and jaw line. I use oils, balms, etc, I brush through it everyday with a boars hair brush and I've been growing it for the past 2 years, I've trimmed it down and made everything even at the same length. Basically everything stated in this video I've tried, but never Rogaine. I always thought it was a regrow or something, but how do you regrow whats already there. Its the only other thing i haven't tried. Any other options. Shaving it completely isn't an option. It took long enough to grow to where its at and that's with the trimming 2 times a year.

Great summary with some actionable details. If trimming a beard short, one should also consider carefully shaping the neckline and cheek lines to best define the pattern with some symmetry and style. A clean trim to a Riker, circle beard, or goatee can play to your beard's strengths to make it look sharp and intentional, not a lazy afterthought. Even so, being patient for length to develop has paid off for many men whose seemingly short patchy beards have filled in nicely to look full and complete. And age can often transform young, patchy, thin coverage into a full, mature forest. Never too old to try for the bearded life. I wouldn't toss out the beard comb, though. Even with a short beard, and definitely with a longer one, a beard comb can do a quick clean up in a jiffy, and it's a lot easier to keep a comb in your back pocket than any beard brush I've seen. But the good quality beard brush is definitely an essential part of every beardsman's kit.
If you are going to take biotine or any vitamins take liquid vitamins because your body will absorb 80%-90% of the vitamin while in pill form only 40% - 50%:
