I’m loving it. The only downside is that the camp budget is going to get stretched even further. Maybe only suitable for small cluttered builds. And the junk items are rather heavy and take up space in the stash box. But otherwise this is fantastic, I have so many ideas already.
another way that I’ve found to merge the chess boards is by simply using the flamethrower trap, set it on top of a floor, put your table on a higher elevated ground and then just raise or lower the floor until the bottom flame is hitting the board, it should destroy it which will then allow you to set another chess board and you can move that one around as you please, move it away or bring it closer or even spin it around. Once you’ve got the second board set, just fix the first one and they’ll merge
I just wanted to thank you. I had a souvenir drinking glass disappear on one of my table merges. When I went to recreate it I couldn't remember how I got the perfectly preserved pie to not sink into the table. Watching your video I remembered I used the fact that when you merge the boards one is slightly higher. It works perfectly for the pie and I don't mind if the souvenir drinking glass sinks a little lower.

It raises items a different amount than the pressure plate lowers them (if that makes sense), so when you merge back down it lines up differently. One or two rounds of this usually works to get the items exactly where you want them.
That’s true, I wasn’t thinking of the merged ones. I’d probably give myself an aneurysm messing around to merge the boards out of alignment to make the item line up the way I want. 😂
Beautiful thanks. My own little displays now make the area look the part. I themed the lead resource extractor with a table with lead based items on. i.e A toy car painting set.
If you merge a chessboard into a table and the item vanishes you do not need to start over. Just put the table on top of your camp module. The camp module will make the chessboard pop out of the table so that you can add items to it again.
Quick tip! If your items go missing/don't feel like displaying, you can raise the chessboard back up by placing your furniture item on your camp widget! You can then merge it back down:D
I also have been testing with the chessboard; in my tests i found that jumping the chessboard merge twice on the camp module then merging down would provide an almost perfect merge. Such that very thin objects like napkins, forks and knifes can be displayed. I hadn't thought about blueprinting the chessboards, but now i will; thank you.
Also you did not need to delete the merged object; using free cam you can fly through objects, with this you can grab the chessboard inside your object.
Nice. Of course the first things I tried to merge were a newspaper and magazine on my coffee table, so I quickly realized I was gonna have to take some other steps. I've been too busy with all the events and grinding the Scoreboard to bother atm, but sounds like you've saved me the random frustration of using sloped terrain.
@@runsolomon yep, I did some testing when I first unlocked it and for a very easy "perfect" merge it took two jumps on the camp module then merged back down. Of course I've still been experimenting with it trying to find all the quirks, but two jumps is all you need.
I was playing with this last night and found that you can place a slice of birthday cake on it(along with some other consumables). It got me thinking about trying to merge a slice of birthday cake onto a plate! Awesome idea about the blueprints!

Building restrictions in shelters are different, although I saw someone on FB say that you can place a second chess board on top of another one if you destroy the first one. I rarely build in shelters I hate them but well done.
@@LucyJanePlays I thought I'd try it in there and see if it could be done. I wish they would just give us looser restrictions in the regular game. I was going to try doing it with the shooting targets...whenever I get around to getting some new camp slots.

Just got the chessboard myself last night, I also am slow at grinding repeatable score lol, I can only handle west-tek for a couple of loops before i give up and go back to tinkering with my camp lol. I'm excited for this board though, going to see if I can make a pile of plushies on my bed with the mr fuzzy, radbear, etc junk item plushies, just too bad theres a 30 display rack limit.
Oh my gosh thank you so much! Can't wait to spend hours decorating lmao... I just returned to 76 after a year with a brand new character and i'll admit, i can't stand the grind either so this morning i just swallowed my shame and bought like 40 lvls on the scoreboard.
@@LucyJanePlays i get it, but since i'm trying to roleplay with this toon i try not to do stuff my character wouldn't do, that means no fast travel and no going to places i haven't discovered organically, so i rarely get to do challenges and i level really slowly, it's been a nice change of pace tbh.

You're a great builder. I enjoy the videos. Just have one question if I may, why do you still use the mannequin on the pressure plate? If you just pick it up and set it back down, it activates and allows you to drop merge like normal. Anyway, gotta jet off to work have a good day
For the same reason I replied in a previous comment and I've said in over a dozen videos. If I just move it, it stays down for about 10 minutes, then if I move it again it won't go down so I have to put it away and get it out again. It frustrates me if I'm in the "zone" so if I put a mannequin on it stays down for the whole session and I don't have to think about it again
This is a site of a current build. I tend to decorate and do all my merging at the end. If I just move the plate, it only stays down for 10 minutes. Moving it again won't make it go down. I have to put it away and start again. Putting a mannequin on it keeps it down for the entire session
Very easy way for me to get items sorted out if I miss merge them is to go into free cam mode and go inside. A bit fiddly but for me it works fast and easy.
It still works, the last time I had a conversation with someone about this, he was standing on the pressure plate, that hasn't worked since they introduced the build camera as your avatar's hit box seems to interfere.
The pressure plate is part of a plan called "advanced power connectors" and is available at train station vendors. The chessboard is on the current scoreboard
Someone said poker chip , you can get the plan from a nuka cola world event. I spent half an hour trawling through the build menu trying to find it the other day as I knew I had it, but not on the character I was looking lol
@@LucyJanePlays Whole camp! Whitespring porch kit, used the rug and and spring switch glitch. Very temporary, just glitched out somehow, fixed in 2 second. Was wounded, all I wanted to do was put an item next to my power armour station.
@@LucyJanePlays it's using a rug to move a switch around under furniture or on top of floor tiles while using a spring switch to alter the height of a placed item on top of it. Also works with posters and walls if you want a hidden door

I can't afford to buy levels but I just do the weekly and daily challenges, I don't grind for repeatable score. You get 100 for so much xp.

What is the advantage of using a mannequin? I learned how to use a pressure plate a few days ago and I don't need a mannequin or power.

It should do. No one else has mentioned it doesn't.
Try it on a single foundation. Do a group select and then click on the foundation to unselect it. You should now just have the chessboards

Can you merge two of them on top of each other so they overlap 100%? I was not able to figure out how.
I haven't tried, maybe with a conduit, it might be difficult to select the bottom one to display an item. I will try
