My area doesn't get to many Barrell products mostly Seagrass and Dovetail which I haven't bought. But for this price if I saw it I'd buy one I'm not a big finish guy like the Brazil wood just to sweet I'm more of a little sweet more bold flavors drinker. I do enjoy scotch also and trying to go into the peated bottles slowly though. Nice review. Enjoy!!
I can't say I've tried really anything finished but then again I've only started drinking bourbons/whiskeys for about 8 months and do prefer all of them neat but the main thing is I get almost everything on base because my tax for spirits in wa are like $25 a gallon and then like 9% regular sales. So essentially it's about 33.333% on 750ml bottle. Thanks for the review brotha!
Curious how rabbit hole said with typical profit margin they needed to sell at 1500 but barrell can do it at 85 with a mizunara finish. I know rabbit hole used older whiskey but still that's a large gap. Just curious do you think barrell used a previously used mizunara barrel and the rabbit hole was a fresh unused mizunara barrel (idk if that would make it cheaper barrel to buy)? Or when they make a several batches of finished whiskey can they just keep using the same barrel(s) at barrell to get more uses (not sure if that's even an option in the finish whiskey world), and rabbit hole was a one time use of the barrel with each batch release? BTW enjoy the video and I really do like barrell products.
That is plausible. Also, keep in mind that at $1,500 a bottle that would make Rabbit Hole's cost around $475. This is not impossible considering packaging, cost of 15 year, and all the other factors.
I think this is the 1st time I've visited your channel & i like what I've seen. I primarily wanted to learn about Mizunara, which another reviewer disliked, but i had no idea what it was. Fill me into the randomizer as I'd like to try a sample.
I got screwed on an Eagle Rare. Got home , all excited, and showed my buddies. They said this bottle looks strange, someone had one and brought theirs out. Turns out the bottle was just a tad smaller. Yep, it was a 700 ml.
I think most will change to 700mL bottles while keeping the 750mL price, just because they can make more money. But I hope that small distillers and NDPs like Barrell continue bottling in 750mL.
@@BourbonRealTalk regardless, doesnt really matter what order they came out in. Even if exclude the mizunara, the fact they tried to get that ridiculous price again for the amburana is just insanity, especially with so much amburana on the market for 10 or more x's less
I might have to try this one. I actually love Rabbit Hole. The Dareringer is one my favorite bourbons of all time. I can’t do 1,500 for a bottle tho. Way too much lol

Does 100 point scale make sense when 70 points and under you wouldn’t even drink it or recommend it. How many bourbons would you put above 95. Almost none
I acknowledge your point, but people understand 100 point scale ratings they way they do grades in school. Below 60 is just a fail, 70-79 is a C, 80-89 is a B, and 90-100 is an A. To your point, I have only rated a small number of bottles over 95. If I started using the full 100 point range, it would only serve to confuse people.

I was hoping very much to try it. Wasn’t available in my small town liquor store. Ordered from an online liquor outlet. Bottle arrived with cork topper off, just holding on by the topper label. Contacted the online liquor store. They claimed I opened the bottle, poured it out (into another container), and then took the picture I sent them. Not everyday that I’m called (by implication) a liar and a thief. ☹️. My sixth order from that outlet. So much for acknowledging customer loyalty.
Have you tired the Tokaji? Love Barrell's "experimentals". They didn't hit you in the face. Like with their Amburana, theirs is 🤌, while a Doc Swinsons is full👊💪🔥
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feel’s rabbit hole prices , are a bit much!!!
Saw this on the shelf today. May have to grab it after this review.
I got a bottle of this last weekend before i saw this video pop up. Good timing, and its very good.
Been waiting to try this one. Super excited to see the review and give this one a try!
I've not yet tried a Mizunara finished whiskey. Thanks for the information.
Ordered mine yesterday along with Batch 36. Can't wait to try.
Luv Barrell craft spirits
Another great tasting and review! Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Will do!
I may have to give this a try
Informative video. Thank you for posting
Glad it was helpful!
I have a Taconic Mizunarra Finish at home at 107 proof. It's fantastic is less than 100 dollars.

It's an excellent price for a Mizunara finish... can't wait to buy it once it hits the Northern California markets
Very informative. Good episode.
I love the Vantage and am looking forward to this.
Nice review! Probably my next bottle, maybe I will pick it up tomorrow! I personally enjoy Rabbit Holes core lineup! Cheers
Thank you, cheers!
I've tried 3 different Barrel products and they've all been delicious. I haven't had either of these however, but I've heard great things.
Great show as always! If you woke up this morning and wondered if anyone loved you, just know that we all love you! Cheers!
Thank you, cheers!

Madeira also hides the Dickel funk in High N’ Wicked The Jury 15 Year. Nice to hear Mizunara does the same in this bottle. 🥃
I just bought one. Good vid

Barrell sure did Amburana right I’m sure the miz will be good.
Only had the Barrell vantage. It was alright, not really my thing.

Starlight has released a Mizunara, I picked up a bottle last Friday it is very good, certainly not $1500...at the distillery in Southern Indiana

My Mizunara got lost in a storm somewhere back east and has been pending for a month. Lol so Barrell refunded me purchase
I have no idea what ring the bell means but I’d never pay $1500 for a bottle. Unless it actually had $1500 in it.
The mizunara Yamazaki 18 wasn’t as much as rabbit.
Sounds like a try to me.
