  • This video describes replacing the spark plugs on a 2011 Lincoln MKX. This includes removing the throttle body and upper intake manifold. I'd like you to please see my other video on troubleshooting a check engine light and cylinder misfire on a 2011 Lincoln MKX. The service manual recommends replacing the throttle body gasket. I did not replace the throttle body gasket. The gasket looked new, and it was easy to get to.

    Here I am the day before New Years watching and working and you say Happy New Year. Although I'm dressed a lot warmer. You're a life saver. I have to replace the oxygen sensor behind there and got stuck. There's one video that's close but not exact. Dawned on me there might be a spark plug video which is essentially the same job. So thanks so much!. Like to give one than one thumbs up.

    Thank you for sharing this video. The fronts plugs were a breeze and I was dreading the rear. Your video relived my reluctance and although the rear plugs look like somewhat of a hassle to get to, it looks doable. I did not see how the intake gasket pops in but I suppose i will figure it out.

      You're very welcome! The intake gasket can only go one way. It fits in a groove on the intake manifold.

    Must watch for ford Lincoln MKX edge spark plug removal replace and snapped bolt advice if you ask plus he will give u the steps in pdf which with the video will make it very easy even for the common man and women!!! First off this out of all vids I watched on this service tune up his was the best as far as taking the time to include little stuff that in the end makes a lot of sense when doing the work. My experience with this channel owner was awesome, he emailed me everything I needed to perform task correctly like they would do at the dealer, I had a few hiccups on my part by over tightening and snapped a intake bolt, I contacted him he sent me a pic and part number which made it easy to get from the dealer and he sent pics of what I need to buy to extract broken piece still in the intake and walked me threw step by step, he basically had on hand every thing I needed when I ran into a snag and immediately sent steps and pictures of product and parts. I felt so bad because I was literally contacting him alot cause I wanted to do it right, he was responding almost immediately with said pictures and part number and the fix procedure.
    I know there are alot of guys that do these channels but they are no help if you run into a issue and your not a mechanic like me. After all said and done 2012 Lincoln MKX runs like new because of this channel video and his attention to detail by checking up making sure he replies back or connects with you on a different communication path.
    As a favor for me if you watch and use this video to do your tune up please subscribe cause he deserves it man, a really stand up fellow in my eyes.
    Your vehicle will be so happy and the wife to because you will save alot of money the Lincoln dealer by me wanted close too 1,000 dollars. I got it done for about 75 but I bought couple extra goodies and cleaners. A must to clean that throttle body especially if it’s being held open just a tad from carbon, he taught me that lol
    If your reading this to tackle your job this is where you want to subscribe and get it done correctly. Trust me, I’m pretty good with just about everything but tips and knowledge that I don’t have he has it all. Don’t waste time looking up parts he will get you going in the pro direction, I promise.
    Thank you to this guy from me and the wife. I hope you have a great experience and outcome as I did. Thanks letgovideo

    Its horrific these newer cars, you have to almost do a complete overhaul just to change 3 spark plugs. For this very reason I continue to drive my 1980 VW rabbit diesel with 1.8 million miles and 50 mpg, plus no car payment.....

      The engineers should be mechanics for a few years before designing vehicles.

      @@LetGoVideo I think the problem is from every car manufacturer, the engine is built out in the open, then dropped into the car, and you end up with a real challenge. Then with government regulations, the engine bay is polluted with nonsense epa garbage, pumps, hoses, sensors, electrical connectors, etc. My old VW shakes and vibrates the windows at idle, a little diesel smoke on acceleration, but it has cost me nothing to maintain in the last 37 years. Believe it or not, still on the original fuel injectors and Bosch fuel pump. In 1989 I bought a spare fuel pump and 4 injectors from a wreck because everyone said how expensive those parts are. I still have them in the box. BTW, I really enjoyed your video, it was the best I found on RUclips. I'm replacing the coils on my wifes 2013 Lincoln MKX. What a job!

    I have a 2010 MKX are you able to access the shop manual? If so, can you tell me if mine should have the rubber heat shield between the rear heads and the firewall or was that only on later models? BTW your video is amongst the very best I have seen on RUclips. Thank you.

    Really shouldn't use antisieze on spark plugs. Esp with the new aluminum heads.

    • @LetGoVideo
      @LetGoVideo  Год назад

      I've never heard of that. The anti-seize keeps the plug from seizing in the head. You don't ever want to use too much. Some new plugs have an anti-seized compound on the threads when you buy them.
