I know people who’ve spent a decade trying to make it work in the city, only to realize that the “higher pay” or “title” brought them no joy, no ease, no slower life. And they left it to live a simpler life in the country side far away from the city. They got jobs that are far less glamorous, with far less pay but they also aren’t struggling to keep up with the rent / mortgages there or cost of living.
