@@JoshtheRVNerd agree, although i would have to get a toy lol, something else you can do with toy haulers noone ever think about, which you did touch on partially, you can put regular house furniture in the back and truely make any kind of living room you like, and if someone who moves often, cargo trailer in general.
could even use furniture to make a seperate room from the kitchen an put a 85 inch tv there, all it takes is running a few extention cables, and making sure it is all secured if going to tow it that way.
i ever do buy a trailer or build one, it will be something like this for sure, also i think a good idea would be to make a class c type that has small toy hauler ability... i have considered buying and converting an ambulance or smaller cargo truck to set up in a similar way.
you could even just use the vehicle fuel for toys right out of the main tank as long as use the same, which if gas, they do most commonly, just dont use it all lol, or set the fuel station to not allow you to use any for any toys if tank is below 1/3 full or something, to make sure you dont accidently run yourself out of gas to get back to more fuel.... i have seen one or two larger such as class a that have this, but a class c that could say fit a single quad or 2 dirt bikes could even be done in a class b or b+ if use the garage for the bedspace also, same as the top one in these (or bottom even)
You know Josh. I think there is a problem forming. I have seen pretty much all your videos. So many in fact that I think it's now getting to a point. A point where I know more about the US RV industry than I do of my ocountry and their RV industry.
I like it! Fridge doesn't matter if you upgrade to solar power solo but I would probably have a generator as backup. You didn't give a price range nor tell is this aluminium construction?
We indicate in the video pricing and availability is found via the links we leave you. Pricing has been changing quite frequently from the MFGs this year (you're welcome to ask around to verify that) A link to something current is the only way I can get you reasonably accurate figures "Stick Built" body. That is one of the things you can fairly assume today when seeing corrugated aluminum skin
It's great you understand your limits though! So many people get in trouble trying to push it like salt n pepa Jayco has since retired this design but it's still available from several builders. None are really light in weight though
Hello! Hope you can answer this for me. I noticed that in this video there are no inner wheel wells sticking up through the floor but in other videos of 2021 255 models they show the wheel wells inside?
I'm not sure what else you've seen. To my knowledge this is the only way they've been produced. It's a new model so there hasn't really been time for other "generations" of this layout to have existed out there. It's *possible* a prototype that had interior wheel wells has existed and been recorded, but I've never seen a full Octane like this any other way Is there a slim chance you've seen a 265TH Jay Flight which does have the wheel wells bumping up into the "body" of the coach?
In the past you could. I would need to verify what’s offered currently Our sales team is always happy to dive into questions like that in return for the fair shake at working with you when you’re ready!
We have a Momentum 21G that is very similar. I completely agree they should offer a 12v fridge option - especially if you get a solar package. We have 300W solar that would run the fridge without depleting the battery....but we have the 2 way 8 cf fridge :( we don’t have toys, but love the flexibility and especially the extra width and height. I do like the storage against the bathroom wall. I also agree a 3/4 ton is a much better option for this trailer. It is taller and wider than a standard trailer. The frontal area is greater than a standard trailer meaning more drag. Most 1/2 manufacturers have frontal area limits for towing...
One suggestion: start putting bungee cords on the ramp door cables. It’s like $1 or less cost for the dealership, but it’ll keep the cables from getting shut in the door and ruining the seals. (Which costs more than a bungee cord) 👍
I agree with you about the 12 volt fridge. The simplest of solar packages can keep it running long term and on the road to and from the camp site. The addition of a generator makes the 12 volt fridge even more acceptable.
Man I love this!!! I prefer Jayco over the competition. I 100% agree about the backsplash wrapping around, but much more A 12 V fridge is a big deal. Also I would of appreciated an area for a larger TV and a fireplace. Other competitors have fireplace and better area for TV entertainment. Besides all of that!! Lol. Jayco build quality, craftsmanship and warranty. Love it!!
I have a 2020 Octane 293 and I have a couple comments/thoughts on the 2021 version. I am very envious of the 100+ gallon water tank, great improvement. I don't care about a 12v fridge, as long as you have propane you are good. I don't understand why they don't have a floorplan option for 2021 with a separated garage. That's why we bought the 293. I also like how the fridge and the bathroom are easily accessible during transit. I don't like how I have to open one door to get to the fridge and then I have to go outside to the second door to get to the bathroom because it isn't accessible with the slide in. Great video btw, you do a great job giving a video tour. Finding a good video walkthrough was nearly impossible for me last year when we bought during covid.
Definitely make the 12v compressor fridge an option. Then again, I’m a huge fan of the Octane 273 and I would totally love one of those with that and those chairs.
My feedback. LOVE the layout. But I would like it 4ft shorter, (lighter) no oven (stove top only) put microwave where stove is, 12 volt fridge, get rid of the 2 jacknife seats. The two recliners with a small portable table is fine.
Everybody copies everybody. There's jaycos in GD's lineup and GD's in keystone's lineup and keystone's in Forest River's lineup and forest rivers in Jayco's lineup and so on lol
I will 10 times out of 10 take the 12v fridge. Most off-grid boondockers have the battery capacity and that 12v compressor fridge its that much of a draw compared to other possible options. That door side front storage area would be perfect for mic and speaker stands for my sound gear. Now you said it was an enclosed underbelly and fuel station. Isn't that unsafe because a fuel tank needs to vent and breathe... or did Jayco add extra vents to the fuel tank to allow both? I really like this toy hauler, I'm not in the market for one though, if I was, this is a great one.
I am looking for a TT where I can add 2 desks so me and wife can work in the road. Looks like this is an option .. but I don't like the rest of the layout.
Not as good as the pre owned 2015 Cougar fifth wheel with patio. This one needs a DC refrigerator & Josh if you would eat spinach you wouldn’t have Chicken arms lol
You're right, a outdoorsman package and add all those little things, wall brackets, that front storage hieght is absolutely insane!
I like this trailer. I like the fact that it has a rectangle shower!

Since this is an older video I wonder if they added a skylight vent in the bathroom. Would like to see that. I'd like a 12v fridge option as well.
This model has since been totally retired. The Octane series as a whole is currently riding the bench
Love this hauler. This is what I have been looking for.
Good to hear! So we'll be seeing you soon, right? lol
Thanks for watching :)
I LOVE that the towel holder is opposite the toilet and not behind it.👍
You mean you DONT like it when your towel dips in the toilet like a tea bag? That’s weird lol

Yep Yep. Common full toy hauler bed-over-sleeper-sofas

Yep. The side stays in place then either push up against the side or out and locks for climbing
Loving it. Sending to friend this could work for him.
Shared with friend. This would work great, if I didn't already have my 2008 pilgrim rear bath that I love.
Ty for sharing!!
I just found a nice Octane 222 that I applied for financing on ! If I get approval for the purchase, I just may pull the trigger on it 👍
Nice find!
Yes please, on the side splash and 12v fridge. Love the deck and the windows in the bedroom.
Ty!!
I think a screen cover over back or camper by patio so no bugs get in
it does have one
The option for a 12 volt fridge to us is huge!
I agree. I like this camper and it’s perfectly fine as is. I do personally feel it could be better with the option of a 12v

12 volt refrigerator? Add solar power or prep for solar power.
12v fridge is NA right now but man I want it.

Is there a screen for the garage door so all the bugs don't get in? Cabinets seem like they should go to the ceiling.

Ive been saying for years, i like Toy Haulers...if only the interior were a bit nicer, cozier.
pretty cool layout, looks like they don't make it anymore.
Sadly no, they don't. The octane series is basically retired for now. Their only travel trailer toy haulers come in the jay flight line
Your hunting and fishing suggestion is a great idea regardless the layout

These were retired several years ago so it'd have to be in the used market which certainly makes budget factors easier
NEEDS A 12V COMPRESSOR FRIDGE OPTION
I agree an option for it would be ideal
Hey Josh, If you get a lightweight teardrop such as a Bushwacker or freesolo Let me know thanks
I think the kitchens need help across the scope.
Looks perfect for a family. Love the idea of something that is functional without needing to bring toys all the time.
It’s nice to see that someone finally thought of putting a couple of nice chairs in a toy hauler instead just a couple of not so comfortable benches!
