Fairly obvious - the house swerved into the path of the fire truck, the result when you don’t yield the way to emergency vehicles
stupid house drivers, the mansion models are the worst.
Dear gods I guess I needed a good laugh. Thank you 🤣
I agree. Owner of the house should've known better.
😂😂😂
Fire crews were able to respond to the scene immediately.
They do things differently these days. I guess they're determined to cut down on emergency response times. 😄
"We are with the patient. They are under the vehicle, but we were able to get to them fairly quickly with this new life hack. You're welcome."
Drinking coffe saves lives!
Imagine hmm coffe ..oh what was that ?
My niece used to go around telling people I drink coffee because "coffee saves lives" thanks kid.
Good thing it didn't crash into the gas station!...😮
Prayers for all injured and hope the home owner has a place to stay for a while.
🙏 for the person in the truck!
Yes, that looks like some pretty flattened pancake damage! 💔💝🙏
Who sadly seems to be the most innocent one in this mess and of course is fighting for their life and probably won't make it judging by the condition of the truck. While dumbass in the red car and the guy driving the fire truck probably walked away from the vehicles.
did anyone one say that's not how you tackle a house fire
I have seen people just keep driving because in this world it's all about them. People do not yield to emergency vehicles.😮
Doesn't the gas station have cameras pointing at the pumps that would have the intersection in their field of view?
Does the firetruck have a dashcam?
When you hear a siren PULL over and stop! Stop texting, stop being distracted and learn the laws!
@@Anomoomin Do you know how many people DON’t pull over, especially for a ambulance! I realize YOU don’t know the law and yet do you have a DL?! Either you are young, naive, or just plain “the lights are on but, nobody’s home”. Or maybe from a different country. By not pulling over ( I also mean stopping in place) someone could be dying and need help but, because of some entailed idiot they could die. I remember watching my husband going in the ambulance, with lights and siren hoping everyone stopped and pulled over. Are you the “one” who didn’t? Karma is alive and well, weather good or bad, it will come back to haunt you.
You pull over if they are on the same road as you. No way driver in red could have know the fire engine was going to plow through the intersection. Probably the fault is on the driver of the fire engine.
@@lostfool How could you not hear the fire engine siren, even not on the same road? Were they not using it? I wear hearing aids and I still hear sirens if they are present. By the way, emergency vehicles, when going to a emergency always have the “right of way”. Lives could be in danger. Word to the wise, be alert when driving.
@@robinjohnston7986easy gun powder!!
if the fire truck wasnt driving so fast people would see and hear it.
most the time i dont hear a siren until its 100-150ft away by then you barely have time to react because of their speed.
So why didn't the car yield to the fire truck? Isn't that the law, if you hear sirens, you look yield, and pull over?
Why didn't the truck slow down for the junction?
That truck must have been going extremely fast for us to do this, probably fast enough that the red car was already in the intersection before you could even hear the truck
@@Alucard-gt1zf Good job. Blame the emergency vehicle on the way to save someone or someone's house not the car who probably was on their phone or something. Good job good job.
"Firetruck in front of the home"... I'd say that firetruck was INSIDE the home. Just say'n.
Could even say the truck is holding it up at this point.
@@BreakfastCroissantsI think it literally was haha
HAHA, yeah, that was my immediate thought as well!!!
And those cars were not "damaged" they were totalled.
The only "Rights" an emergency driver has is to go through a red light after they have made sure the public has seen them and yielded to them.
Depends on if they had a green or red. Clearly they were moving pretty fast to go that far out of control after being hit. They'll fault the red car for failing to yield and the engine drive for the same thing because, as you said, they must allow traffic to clear/stop before proceeding through intersections if they don't have the right of way.
Almost guaranteed the fire engine had a green light and the red car failed to yield in some way. Emergency vehicles simply do not blow thru red lights anymore, at least not here in CA.
@@MrPLC999 That engine was FLYING. It ran something without slowing down.
@@MrPLC999 Your perspective would mean you think firefighters are always in the right and civilians are always the cause of any problems involving them. Take the rose-colored glasses off and dial into reality. Your way would mean that someone was running a red light at the exact moment an emergency vehicle was crossing the intersection. Go but a lottery ticket right now. Based on reality, it is more likely that the emergency vehicle ran a red light and was hit by a person moving forward with the green light and didn't see the engineer driving irresponsibly.
This is true however normal people stop for flashing red lights
Red lights and siren means get the F**K OUT OF THE WAY! Another human needs help from these firemen! Pay attention and show a little respect and nobody else gets hurt. God bless the poor man in the truck and everyone else involved.
It seems the Lord Jesus said go get you some coffee and placed him away from danger.Thank God!
May the baby Jesus shut our mouth and open our eyes
I came to say the same thing! This man is very lucky he wasnt home. That being said i do hope he has somewhere to go
The Fire Engine was IN the home...not "in front"!😮
"In the front of the home", not in front of the home, yup....
RAMMSTEIN: BENZIN
If you’ve seen it, you get it.
Scary. I hope everyone will recover and be ok.
Imagine watching TV in your house and suddenly a fire truck does a "Kool-Aid Man" entrance through the wall.
OH YEAH
GIANT RED TRUCK WITH SIRENS 🚨 AND LIGHTS 🚒, but people don't notice .... PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION
The driver of that truck is still supposed to slow or stop at all intersections and proceed when safe to do so. That driver didn't even slow down and that's obvious from the amount of momentum the truck carried to the house. This is a truck driver error and with 34 years as a truck driver I know facts.
clearly that fire truck was going way to fast. you can’t create a second emergency while responding to the original incident
Blame the emergency responding vehicle instead of the car who was probably on their phone and didn't yield. Good thinking! 🤡
Even just at the speed limit, you are looking at suddenly controlling a LOT of mass and inertia. Plus whatever damage the car did to the truck, if it struck the front end.
Looking forward to updates on this
The driver of the red car has a lot to answer too.
So does the driver of the red fire truck
@@juliogonzo2718 nope. Red car 100%.
@@therealog9430 that depends on which vehicle had a red light
@@juliogonzo2718emergency vehicles with their sirens on can go through red lights
@juliogonzo2718 nope. Doesn't matter. Firetruck had its lights and siren on. The red car was supposed to yield the right of way to all emergency vehicles.
Joke for ya: Why are fire trucks red?
You’d be red too, if someone pulled your hose. 😮
lols
That cup of coffee was a blessing. Praise the Lord, the owner of the house wasn’t in his house! I hope that everyone else will get better soon. Now how will they protect the home from being looted?
Oh, Stockton. Yeah. I am very concerned about the injured. Terrible! 🙏
no way, the rare time we can comment on kcra!
anyhow, i hope everyone recovers and the situation gets resolved
That is scary for sure but where is the footage if any to how it happened
Gotta feel sorry for the drivers.
Professional commentary on Structural issues
Heartbreaking.
Eyes up people
Those cars weren't just "damaged" but destroyed.
Can someone explain how this happened? The intersection seems fairly far away and the fire engine is facing the intersection as well as the red car..so how could the fire engine travel that far down the road and then be facing the direction of the intersection?
Hit the car at the intersection
While turning
Fire truck went up on its side
Skid while turning
It's simple. The fire truck failed to follow protocol and didn't slow down at the intersection and failed to yield to cross traffic before proceeding as the law states.
@@darrenwerner1829
Yup yup yup
The Fire truck was going very fast. Momentum!
@@stevenveilleux4791
Ah huh 👍😉
Until the investigation is complete no one knows who is at fault. So many people on here are quick to blame the engine or the red car. I drive an Engine and it can be a nightmare due to idiot driver's not paying attention. But engine driver's are still required to drive defensively and safely. And a drivers worst fear is crashing his rig and injuring innocent people.
Your statement was my point when I posted....and thank you for your honesty as an engine driver , we ALL need to check our cross traffic....my pops always tried to teach me to drive DEFENSIVELY, not offensively, meaning LOOK before I roll through any intersection....and he helped me to stay alive to be 60 yrs old now with his slight words of OLD MAN wisdom.
@@roadskare63 Yes the only person that cares about you on the road is yourself. So one must watch out for the problem drivers. Thank you for the respectful reply sir
Id love to hear/see the final accident report. This has got to be one of the most complex accidents involving an engine Ive ever seen.
Thank you for what you do in firefighting; it IS appreciated!

Why does everyone make jokes? What if it were you?
I’d probably need a change of underwear
I would probably SLOWLY enter the intersection ONLY after I have verified it safe to do so.
Exactly
did they hire a driver from detroit fd?
It's Stockton so...may as well be Detroit.
“Pull the fire truck out of that home very carefully to minimize any possible further damage.”
That’s like giving someone a band aid after you pull them out of the gears of a combine.
The house is totally destroyed & they’re trying to save it… you know, because safety is their number one priority. It blows my mind how delusional some people can be.
Gotta save what you can and keep damage as minimal as possible, if only so access can be made to shore it up properly.
What a carnage 😮
🙏🙏🙏
🙏
Insurance for them homeowners when you hear them sirens you must get out the way
It is sometimes so hard to see or hear emergency vehicles, with cars so well sound-proofed, larger cars on the road so you can't see. I missed one the other day, luckily not a problem. I wasn't listening to the radio, using my phone, & I drive a small SUV, but he was invisible & unheard until he got just opposite me. I still wonder if it was legit or an imposter.
A crash happens when nobody's paying attention when people have to tell you how a crash happens this world is done for
Wow 😮 glad everyone OK!!
What about the skid marks in the shorts of the Fire truck driver?
I went to school with a guy who became a fireman.I googled his name and was shocked by what I read. He was suspended for a while for smoking stinky stuff while on duty. He left this world prematurely. Sad. Firemen have an awful lot of downtime.
❤
Imagine trying to get your house fixed after that. Who’s paying?
Kinda funny how nobody is talking about the rv that got obliterated
The house owner will get double taxed now for the home renovation done by the firetruck 😂
That homeowner dodged a bullet (or firetruck) by not being at the house. I wonder who’s gonna pay for the damages though. Hopefully not the homeowner.
positions of wrecked vehicles don't add up this needs federal investigation . looks like fire apparatus was rolling way too fast. i called in a ems in my county one of the big monstrosities ems was buying rolling about 75 in 50 with red light against the with traffic turning into there way . at a very dangerious . i told supervisor i want the crew to make it home and sirens they bought were not very loud and hard to pick up direction. i noticed it when first moving her from philly area another bad thing many so marked cars don't have roof beacons when you here sirens in a intersection of 6 lanes to 6 lanes and heavy traffic no one can see the emergency car bad managment in most cases
Hey at least the firetruck stopped. Unlike that cop car that hit the motorcyclist, killing him, and kept going.
Sometimes you got to make your own emergency 🤷
The truck on its side, you can see blood all over the headliner
Is there ANY kind of catastrophe that hasn’t happened in California? If something can possibly happen, it will happen in California, or it already has.
This is true, I live in California, but the same goes for Florida😂
I live in the Sacramento area and drivers here are horrible at ignoring emergency vehicles! They won’t pull over to the right and they don’t care if emergency vehicles are entering an intersection…and let me just say those drivers are predominantly Asian and middle eastern. Here in CA we are taught to move TF over and that’s always in every DMV test.
Strange getting coffee and he lives across the road , doesn't he have a kettle
Funny comments! 😂
Hope everyone fully recovers!
Just came across this story, I am a retired engineer and I don't know the policies of this department but far as I know, all emergency vehicles must adhere to all traffic laws and little known fact is, the only thing lights and sirens are for is to basically clear a safe path to a call and go through red lights once you as the driver make a complete stop to make sure there are no vehicles in your sight of travel and once you've determined that then you may proceed through a red light. It's obvious that for this type of damage and a debris field this large, the engine was traveling way to fast and disregarded the intersection rule I hope everyone has a speedy recovery. Any engineers reading this don't allow the Captain or anyone to tell you how to operate your apparatus as you are in control and always operate safely and within the laws as this engineer is about to have alot of legal issues to deal with plus the conscious of the victims.
Yup, just like a Class A driver. Don't let the boss tell you how to drive or force you to drive a truck needing maintenance or repairs. If you drive it and the truck causes an accident, that's your ssa 👈.
@@xmo552yup! Same thing in the military. They had us sign for million dollar equipment and you were responsible for said equipment
Someone made a big mistake
We do not yet know which vehicle ran the red light. It seems like people want to blame the driver of the fire engine but the reporter clearly said it was not known which vehicle it was. This is a relatively large scene but we need to recognize that a vehicle as large and heavy as a fire truck physically can not stop quickly. This truck could have been traveling at the posted speed limit when the collision occurred and it took this amount of distance to come to a stop.
Hopefully a thorough investigation will clear things up.
Unless the red car ran their red.
its obvious that theres 4 fire fighter in the truck because they where responding to a call
I commend the on-scene reporter for the details of just how much has to happen in this crash investigation and in clearing the scene.
So grateful that no one was in the house at the time of the crash, although he must have been in shock seeing what happened.
Praying for the very best outcomes for those who were injured.
Just cause you're an emergency vehicle doesn't mean you own the road or above the law
It is a law you are to pull to side of road until emergency vehicle has passed. You are to be alert and vigilant. They have the right of way.
@barbrice721 they don't have the right to be unsafe though
They need to be driving at a safe speed and to slow for junctions and check they are safe
No one has the right to be unsafe. It's up to all of us to do our best to actually be alert. This means able to hear sirens. So we can pull over and stop. Not to be looking at phones or putting on make up while driving. But you know. Accidents do happen. These guys put their lives at risk everyday for us. A 50 ton red vehicle 30 feet long with a siren and flashing lights should be easy to spot. And they can't stop on a dime. And if full of water it sloshes causing unstability. But yeah we all need to be vigilant them and us. Take care. Keep your eyes open. Lol.
Poor california. Slowly falling apart
Been falling apart since 2013
If the traffic lights there don't have the little white lights that alert to upcoming emergency vehicles going code 3/sirens, this would be a sad but perfect example to underscore why they are so important. Where i live they shine solid white if the vehicle is parallel to your road and flash if perpendicular. I assume it's the same everywhere but don't know.
That's helped me when I didn't hear the siren yet or at least it always causes me to slow down even when they're not in my area yet
I don't know further information on this yet although I'm going to look it up. Cuz my first reaction is it's going to be the red car's fault and of course they're the ones that have no injuries of note.
That cheap cup of gas station coffee probably saved that homeowner's life. I'm so thankful for that! I feel so awful for the poor truck driver though 😢
I'll update with a reply if i find anything notable as an update though
Um..what little white lights?
It's pretty obvious the firetruck was going way too fast. Emergency vehicles can't just blow through intersections without slowing down and proceeding safely.
Even at the speed limit, thats a LOT of mass.
Mmm - Mr. Fireman... You can't park there!
Engine has the right of way.
Remind me never to hire any of those drivers. Seems that NOBODY was paying attention.
House is totalled
So now we have a fire engine running into someone's house. It sure sounds suspicious to me. Now we have had three semi trucks running into buildings with people in them and a barge running into a bridge. And this morning I saw where another barge has trouble with their engines. A lot of things including cars are all running into buildings and birthday parties where there is always kids that are dying. It looks like a theme to me.
It's obvious the fire engine was speeding and didn't make sure the intersection was safe to enter.
I GUARANTEE if the fire engine was traveling slowly, stopped, and checked for safety before entering the intersection... there would be NO WAY that red car could cause the fire truck to crash as it did.
How are you going to blame a fire engine that is literally loud enough for everybody to hear that is coming through it was the red car for not paying attention and yielding
@@ac61900
Easily.
@@ac61900 It is EASY to miss a fire engine even with all of its signals going. I saw someone almost nail an ambulance crossing an intersection because there was a semi on the side where the ambulance was coming from. I could hear it (which is why I didn't proceed on my green while I tried to figure out where it was) but it sounded far away and I couldn't see any lights reflecting from things. Traffic across the intersection didn't move and the semi didn't either, but the car next to me went and stopped short the moment they cleared the semi. The ambulance was running full signals but didn't blow through at high speed so it was able to navigate around the stopped car - which is about the time the sirens became a LOT louder.
Objects and vehicles block sound and reflect it so it is very, very easy not to realize how close they are until clear of sound damping obstructions.
There's no way? Really? The red car could have been speeding and come out of no where. Plus I have seen infinite times where drivers do not pull to the side when they hear emergency trucks. We do not know exactly what happened! How about we wait for the facts first instead of making irresponsible biased assumptions and accusations.
@@sarahlynn7894
So you believe the red car could have been speeding?
Ok, if the red car was speeding AND the fire engine was driving slowly... the fire engine could not lose control, travel that far, and crash into the house with such force.
Ok, if the red car was speeding AND the fire engine was stopped the fire engine could not lose control, travel that far, and crash into the house with such force.
The physics don't allow it.
Lots of money to the house-owner.
OHH BTW YOU CAN NOT PARK THERE
I guess lesson to the story is that firefighters should wear seatbelts just as the law states.
And slow down.
And make sure its safe to enter intersection.
Seems pretty basic.
The tow job isnt tough at all, the home is toast and ur not knowledgeable about towing n big rigs
😮😮😮
Emergency Responders always have the right of way. You are required to get over or stop. It looks like that city needs to do a month of police escorts and give out tickets to those who don't obey the get out of the way law. It's a fact that if you cause them a delay that cost the life or lives of the victims they are enroute to help, the person responsible for delaying the responders can be charged with murder. They can prove the amount of time the delay caused them was the amount of time they needed to save them .
Just like they can use the Emergency vehicle to shove a vehicle out of their way if the driver won't move . If a vehicle is blocking the fire hydrant they can run the hose through the vehicle. They are not responsible for the damages and the vehicle owner's insurance company will reject the claim.
Not being able to hear emergency sirens is one of the reasons why it's actually against the law to have an automobile radio at high volumes (people tend to forget because cops hardly ticket for them anymore). Cops should really start writing some long overdue tickets. Emergency Responders needs to start taking plate numbers again and having police escorts for a couple of weeks periodically (atleast do it a couple of days a week randomly)
Gotta crack some eggs.......😂
Word salad with big scary words but no idea who did what.
Ok. Who Pays ?
Shouldn't have hired that ex-cop.
California of course...
Well my guess is red car didn’t yield. Don’t blame the fire truck
Structural integrity lol hahahaha not. The owner has an angel looking after him. Beware of fire trucks
Im willing to bet the engineer disregarded safety, felt intitled and blew through the intesection with no concern for the public's Right of Way.
I don't think so.
@@DavidS-iw4ei And you base your thoughts on what?
That's a pretty stupid accusation considering the red car ran into the fire truck! Ur ears clean?
@@ac61900 Do you really believe everything the government and media tell you? Really? Plus, if the red car had the right of way, in other words, the light was green for them and the fire truck didn't yield to them, then the engineer was in the wrong. Emergency vehicles can only go through red lights after the driver has made sure all civilians see them and will yield the way to them. Try Thinking instead of just following.
All vehicles must stop where they at when an emergency vehicle is passing. If your in their path you move to the opposite direction they going. Not hard. @JB91710
Good for small mercies and no kids in that room.
Taxpayers always pick up the tab. Firefighters have Union reps & attorneys that will see to it that nobody is personally held accountable or responsible for any of this.

"We heard there's a fire" 🚒🚒
OK, I know I'm going to take some flakk here, but here it goes...Let me guess...the fire truck BLEW the redlight without slowing down to check CROSS TRAFFIC before going on it's mission....I know all the news is not in, but I don't care, I have seen it time and time again, an emergency vehicle may be blasting it's sirens, and strobe lights if that little device they MAY have to change the lights is slower to react than the emergency vehicle passes through the intersection, THEY NEED to slow down a bit and LOOK before they cross.....I know they are not ALWAYS trained that way....WE as civilian motorists are SUPPOSED to watch each intersection we pass through and see/listen for lights and sirens.....but even governed at 70 mph......sometimes we civi's just cannot react in time...I feel if they (emergency response) just takes that second to slow down and LOOK...IF the light for THEM is red, it could stop a lot of this sadness...that extra second can stop a inadvertent crash/fatality....am I wrong? And like I said before, I was not there, and I know the investigation is still on to determine exactly what transpired in this particular crash. JB91710 is correct!!!
