December 1940. The Italian army in North Africa is about to receive an unwelcome Christmas present in the form of Operation Compass!
The British and Commonwealth forces are on the move, and they are set to reclaim Sidi Barrani!
What follows is a shocking display of outrageous dicerolling by one of the Commanders...
Also seen in this video is more of the Italian national special rules.

Anders... man... I've been there. The dice just turn against you and next thing you know it's all over. My poor Ultramarines know that pain all to well. One thing I'd suggest however, some trucks might have helped get your troops closer and in one piece. Of course it's easy to say what someone should have done after the battle. Still, there's always next game.
Glad to see you remembered your MMGS on your tank this time, you had a nasty habit of forgetting a couple shots.
Another awesome battle report guys, really enjoy seeing your updates in my u tube list. Now, onto the next!

I can tell you, he was really down after those two artillery strikes, it really lost the game for him.. But he still soldiered on, untill i took out his only real threat to my troops.
And it is US that should thank you for being supportive and posting great comments - this is what keeps us going, so a big thank you :)

Another great vid guys, thanks for sharing. The artillery rolls of Anders was well worth it.
I did notice you made an error when you rolled for the prepatory bombardments made by the English. The british have special rule that allows them to roll 2 dice and pick the best one, and not just roll 1 die as other nations do.

Oh, that would have been a real gamechanger (dont tell Anders)! Thanks for pointing that out, now we'll just have to remember that for the future ;)

Jason Brown, unable to reply to your post directly.
There are a total of 3 videos for 1940, but we will go all the way to 1943 with at least 3 videos for each year :)

One advice for Anders: When you get hit by a HE-weapon you can go down (if you haven't done any order yet), which halves the number of hits. Would have helped with the artillery strike on his own units :)

I'll be sure to tell Anders today, when we are shooting (or rather, when I am shooting Anders) the next video in the Battle for North Africa :)

Against all odds, if I remember correctly, most of the Artillery attack dice in the past games showed a 1. This is also some kind of vodoo. ;-) Are you performing back witchery up in Norway?
    Great Vdeo as always!

you`d think that right.. black magic witchery and all with Anders horrible dice luck..
personally i can`t remember a time during the past 12 years that i have know him where he did not roll like this ..
Sometimes i do feel bad for him..... unless i am the one playing him ofc :)
Thanks for commenting :) and keep an eye out on the next video^^ , the master of voodoo makes a comeback

I'm beginning to think artillery observers are not worth their points :P
I don't think I have ever seen an arty observer do anything useful, especially not amounting to 100 points :D
fun game though guys! looking forward to the next one

poor Anders... he's not having a lot of luck with the british is he? ._.

    • @Tabletopbattle

I have stopped using them, and fearing them. Max they can inflict is 3 pins but usually cuse 1-2 and rarely an actual damage...
When we shift to 1941, Anders has chosen to play Germany for the remainder of the war :):)

    Hullo again (sorry!).
Did I miss it, or did you overlook the British special rule which allows (if I remember correctly) them to roll TWO dice for each unit in the preparatory bombardment?

    • @Tabletopbattle
      @Tabletopbattle  9 лет назад

Honestly, i was not aware of that rule so you may be absolutely correct!
Thanks for commenting, need to check out that rule before Tobruk :)
