- 6 ways to tell if your Airpods Pro are fake:
1. Box & packaging differences
2. Font on the packet of stickers & user manual
3. Weight of the case and Airpods Pro earbuds
4. Battery life of the Airpods Pro earbuds on a single charge (without putting them back in the case)
5. Battery display on the popup menu window on your iOS devices (I show an iPad but the same issues will pop up on your iPhone)
6. Sound quality overall, ringing noises, and how good the noise cancellation works
4 things that may seem suspicious but are not clear indicators of your Airpods Pros being fake:
1. If you check the serial number on Apple's website and it's not valid, then it's fake. But if you check the serial number it's valid, it does NOT mean it's always real. The good fake pairs also have real serial numbers
2. Having the popup menu on your iOS devices and the ability to turn on noise cancellation does NOT mean its for sure real, the fake pairs also are able to trigger the iOS popup menu and settings menu
3. The CE logo and FC logo are different depending on what country you're in, the CE is used in Europe and FC is used in the US. That doesn't mean anything
4. The "Assembled in China" or "Assembled in Vietnam" text can be different depending on what country it was made it, that isn't a clear sign it's fake either
There are a lot of these fake Airpods Pros for sale around the internet so just be careful. While they still work as headphones, it would be pretty unfortunate to get scammed by someone selling them saying they are real and trying to charge full price
Even though these Airpods Pro retail for $250, I wouldn't ever pay $250 for a real pair. They are almost always on sale, as you can see I was able to get them from Target for $175 but depending on when you check on Amazon or another retailer they are usually "on sale" between $170 - $200

I hate doing this because it will be corrected by manufacturers :
On the sealed box
- Look at the fonts of any real apple product.. they don’t change NEVER .. It’s a proprietary font of Apple.
-The Barcode Numbers on the real box are wider and thinner and the seal line sits though evenly.
- Serial numbers ending with 1059 (MagSafe) are made in Vietnam. 1NRC (MagSafe)made in China.. if you have these numbers and it says “wireless charging case” it’s FAKE
- European models Usually have the “Apple distribution International..Ireland ..etc” But never have Foxconn (FCC) on the same box .
On an opened box:
-Try wiping the AirPods logo on the box with a wet white cloth. It should NOT stain the cloth or fade the logo nor creases
On the AirPods
- CE (European certification) is always on the left side and Serial number on the right.
-FCC certification (USA, Canada ) meanwhile is on the Right and Serial number on the Left
- The FCC or CE should be on the Airpods themselves .
- Only on First time pairing out the box should NEVER !!!! Say “NOT YOUR AIRPODS (Pro or Max)” . It should read “ AirPods (Pro or Max) “ and a Big connect button (NOT A blue text)
- Reset the AirPods after first pairing and see if all the features are available
- Try replacing one side with a proven genuine AirPods or it’s Case from Apple and reset the AirPods with them together .. they should sync perfectly.

I have heard that the real one and fast way to check AirPods is to do it having 2 iOS devices connected to one Apple ID. You connect to first device (iPhone) and then if you could use it with another device with the same Apple ID without reconnecting - that means AirPods is original.

How to check serial number?
Put your phone flash light on the inside of the flip cover and you will see 2 objects in the cover one on the left and one on the right of the real Airpods Pro and only one object in the fake. I'm not sure what it is but it's another way to tell between the real and fake. Shows eazy in low light but can be seen in normal daylight conditions.

might be because you have the wireless charging version that doesnt have magsafe, doesnt have to be fake
So guys one way to check if the airpods are real or fake..is to connect them with two devices..let's say..iphone and iPad (you have to be on both the devices with same Apple ID). And now try to switch between the two. The real ones will switch seamlessly. The fake ones won't because not connected to cloud.
This is one way which I checked one piece which I came across. Apart from that, everything was cloned in fake one. Also with regards to Automatic noise cancellation and transparency mode, in fake ones, there is no difference in between the two modes. But then I read some users who didn't face any issue with the fake ones as well. So I guess some premier clones have ANC working well. Therefore my opinion is to check the device, try connecting with two devices and then switching them. Hope that helps !
First point about cloud is great! The second point about ANC may vary, mine have a different sound between settings even though the noise cancellation isn’t as good

check if they're fake by shining a light under the lid of
the AirPods case. If they have a number printed onto
them or one black square on one side, then they're fake. If there are two
black squares on each side of the lid, then they are

I think mine are real but I'm still skeptical due to the poor construction quality of the case. I'm not sure if this is standard for apple as this is my first product from them, but its frankly very disappointing
For $35 though i definitely don't feel scammed lol. I knew going in they were probably fake. But i use on Samsung so i wasn't worried about any features working. & They sound great. That's all that matters to me
i found one major difference that you can tell even in case when the fake are in real box, and this is very hard to fabricate on fake one, never seen it on youtube or personal on fake ones, just take out the ear bumps, there should be two rectangular CUTED holes that you can see thru, on fake ones it never entierly cut jut has same shape graved from inside of ear bumps to hold on airpods

Yes the transparency mode is pretty bad (has a low buzzing sound) on the fake ones, but it still works as opposed to not working, would give it a 5.5/10

That is a hard to tell sign unfortunately, if you don’t buy it from Apples website they don’t know your purchase date validity so it could be real (but fake ones can show the same thing)

The back of the real box on the last line of the writing on the left side it says MagSafe and the fake doesn’t. Also on the side of the box that had the serial number there are two labels on the real ones and only one tag on the fakes.
Good eye but the MagSafe text is just a slightly newer version of the Airpods that support MagSafe charging, so that’s not a good way to check

I had fakes of those already. Sound is very good on the fakes but noise canceling is very bad. The easiest way to tell is wether the case makes a sound when first connecting. Case speaker doesn’t work at all on the clone.

If your expecting these to sound like the real ones you will be disappointed, bass is terrible and music doesn’t sound great. If your taking them for what they are a £20 pair of earbuds you’ll be happy enough there just as good as most in that price bracket.
I’d strongly recommend these for more podcasts/RUclips content consumers because you can’t tell much difference big saving for you guys. For music lovers not great, then again the real ones are not the most amazing for music either I found Beats studio buds much better but stick out my little head to much.
I bought these as a spare pair of earbuds that I don’t have to worry about. Use them for short journey to work and leave them in my bag, wet rainy days or when the battery is low on my beats. I’m happy with them especially for the money.
If there going to be your main pair don’t do it. If you don’t have much money go with JLab or Sonys c500 are fairly cheap now.

on the wireless charging variant the trash can is last not first, on the mag safe the trash can is first, so it's not a proper way to tell them apart

Noticed you peeled off plastic wrap from the real ones at the beginning. Can you or anyone comment, isn't Apple doing away with shrinkwrap on new products? Is it not all across the board? Or is that on some products and not others?
Didn’t know that was a new thing - I bought those at Target in person so maybe the Target employees put the shrink wrap on to put them on the shelves, not entirely sure
There’s still plastic wrap. Some of the fakes are even copying the plastic tab.

It depends both could be real , MagSafe is new option shipped with newly manufactured AirPods while wireless is older , although still could be real , so don’t rule them out

One more thing to know if its fake or real:
(Just by opening the AirPods Case)
Real: When opening the case it flashes WHITE Light and also when you return the AirPods in the Case it does the same thing
Fake: When opening the case you can only see Green Light turns on same if you retuen the AirPods inside, the WHITE light only turns on if you LONG PRESS the Button on the Fake AirPods

I bought mine from Amazon and they pass the test. But the only thing that upset me sometimes when I’m laying down and I get up the left one drops on the floor and I got concrete floors where I live now I don’t want to break them I just got them.

They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.
Don’t have a problem with replicas of items.What I have a problem with is duping people into believing they are real.Thats wrong on so many levels.

I’ve noticed that the fake AirPods don’t have the “connect to iPad or iPhone” setting whereas the real ones do.
Where do you see that? I think both the fake and real give a pop up menu asking if you want to connect when you use it for the first time

with the new IOS version 15.4.1 you can by clicking on the serial number in the Bluetooth menu see the serial number of each pair. L and R which is not the case in the fake ones.
Also in the real ones the serial numbers are matching for every pair R and L of the airpods on the Bluetooth menu and also the serial number of the charging case matches in the Bluetooth menu while they are different in the fake ones from the BT menu compared to the one present in the case. Hope it will help.

Lmaoo. My coworker just tried selling me some for 100 dollars too. Real serial number and everything. Almost perfect but when I opened them there was definitely little differences I could see having them side by side to my real ones
the first, the space where the charging case comes in, on the real ones is like a cardboard texture, while fakes is plastic. Second difference is on the eartips, real ones come attached to a gap in the paper, fakes just fall or are inside a sponge. Finally, when paired, go to find my, and try to make them sound, if they dont, it’s fake.

I recently bought AirPod Pros for $60 off of FaceBook Marketplace. When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had the pull tab, all documents, and everything was packaged neatly. (I previously had a pair of authentic AP Pros, so not hard to tell when the packaging is off).
Here are a couple things I’ve noticed, after watching your video:
- Doing a drop box test is a really good way to tell if the box is real or not. Apple has the dramatic, slow drop, while fake boxes will not. The boxes were specifically designed to create tension and a classy feel when revealing your new Apple product. ($60 box passed the drop test)
- Testing the “Spatial Audio” feature on AP Pros can help figure out if they are real or not- most manufacturers will either have a crappy version of it or not include it in the headphones at all. (FB Airpods also passed this test)
- The font that Apple uses is “San Francisco.” It is pretty classic, and is easy to tell when a factory just uses Sans Serif or another font instead.
- The physical earbuds included with authentic Airpods are very soft; knock offs will use thicker, harder and stiffer buds.
- Airpods have a “soft” click when closing the case. Knock offs usually are very clicky and don’t have the same hinge that makes the satisfying sound.
- The real manual, safety guide, warranty and compliance info all have a glossy finish with gray text. As reflected in your video, most manufacturers have sloppy, darker font- this includes everything to the box, case, airpods, etc. Some fakes don’t even include a manual or bother spoofing the other three documents.
- From what I’ve noticed, all fakes have the exact same serial number- the one on the fakes in your video. My mom bought my brother and I fake Airpods for Christmas a couple years ago and they both had the same serial number.
That’s pretty much all I can think of, after comparing my recent purchase to your video Im 99% confident they’re real. Awesome work!
I’d also check the appearance of the screen when it’s connecting, if the tray is plastic in the box it’s fake, and if the light is white or green when first connecting. Also the battery indicator jumping around is a dead giveaway.
