Just a tip for people who want to make Wildrider's transformation more bearable: Do the legs first. That way there will be enough clearance to fit everything together. Thanks to this, I no longer have to worry about breaking it.
I find it's just about as easy going either direction.
@@PerspectiveEnd Eh, to each their own.
For the large square holes in terrorsaurs wings, it’s not supposed to be like that. That’s a manufacturing error. It’s easy to fix, just pop out that section of the wing from its friction hinges, and put it back in the other way around (there is sculpting to match the surrounding wing).
That wasn't want I was Referring to when I said that. I was talking about the area between his tail and his wings where it completely smooths out.
@@PerspectiveEnd Ah, I see.
Believe it or not, there’s a way to make Soundwave’s alt mode somewhat more bearable. Keep the back of the chest flipped up, and there’s a port with just enough room to fit the gun into, and make him look like a tank
It's funny how in order to make these figures actually bearable, we have to fan mode them and manually come up with fixes on our own, when that's Hasbro's job.
I disagree the ship mode actually looks like something
I think there’s like 3 different upgrade kits that if you put em together it can make a convincing tank. But it shouldn’t take all that
Yeah, that's SLIGHTLY more bearable, but it's still unbearable.
All Hasbro had to do was keep Skullgrin at the core class scale. If they did that, not only would it allow you to better display him with the rest of the pretenders, it would also make the alt mode more excusable do to the size it is at.
Yeah and we could have gotten a better deluxe
Yeah, his issues would be forgivable at that scale and price.
And that would give bludgeon 3 gremlins to command rather than 2 gremlins and an alternate universe doom slayer
“Wild rider, an amazing car wreck of a figure.”
Just as he would’ve wanted.
Too bad what he'd want to be doesn't make him worth our money.
The ROTB crew must’ve had a BB movie soundwave on set in his alt mode and used that as inspiration for the new designs
I kind of feel that.
2022 was the year of extremes. Almost everything that came out was either stellar or sinful. Thank Primus for video reviews to help navigate the mine field.
Happy to be of service saving you from those landmines.
I will never stop collecting Transformers even when I become an adult, but the fact that some of these recent Transformers figures usually are not designed as we wish they could have been, but also with awful QC. Seriously when I buy a Transformer figure I am fearful that it's going to have a loose joint, the roots Hasbro is taking hurts me.
I hope even as an adult like me these toys can continue to bring you joy.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, let's hope
For Skullgrin i came up with my own name, A water crawler. It's kinda something from star wars where it sorta drives across water with the back treads while the front sorta cuts Through the water.
I mean I can kind of see that working but at the same time not great.
@@PerspectiveEnd but for soundwave i have No ideas. I sorta just fan mode him into a Lamp post whenever i transform him. Or a cybertronian Boom box. And with ravage well.. i just chucked him into
Ironically, Skullgrin besides the alt mode is not bad. Only thing is the rubber parts and a massive paint misapplication that someone did at the factory.
Absolutely. His robot mode is fine, but that altmode is so lame.
@@PerspectiveEnd True
SkullGrin should’ve been a leader then maybe he’d look like SkullGrin in both modes
Thanks for all the effort you put in making content and Happy New Year!
I'm happy to do it. Thank's for sticking with me so long, and happy to see you when ever you pop in.
I got Soundwave (plus ravage) off of a friend after he got a Prime soundwave
Honestly aside from how his arms and shoulders are made I think he’s a decent figure, even with his nothing of an alt mode
See my problem is that he doesn't pose well, doesn't Transform well, and doesn't have a good altmode, which means that he only has "Looks like the character" going for it.
At least Deadend isn't high on the list because i like him alot homie
Yes. He's mostly there for one serious flaw. But he doesn't deserve to be one of the worst of the worst.
Epic list of the worst figures PerspectiveEnd!!! Now I know why SS Bumblebee movie Soundwave shelf warmed for such a long time at my local Target store. lol Keep on being amazing.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed this one as much as you did, and yeah I bet that thing Shelf Warmed to hell.
@@PerspectiveEnd You're welcome. There were two copies of that figure shelf warming for around 2 months. It was too many soundwaves for my ears to handle. lol
I never thought I'd hear “Mid” in a PerspectiveEnd video
I'm a man of contradictions, and unpredictabilities.
Hey PE! A little note for when you get your hands on Needlenose - he looks WAY better if you take his tailfin off and stick it on an arm or something, then flip the jet nose straight up instead of giving it the official Z bend and hanging down to his knees. This was true of the G1 figure as well IIRC, though his tail fin was on a hinge so you could just fold it out to one side or the other. Assuming it didn't fall off or break entirely, which it was very prone to do. Honestly, making it an accessory for the new version is better... and he feels bigger to my adult hands than the original felt to my child hands, though it's been so long I can't say if that impression was accurate. He looks really great teamed up with Spinister too, though I don't have a Thunderwing or the rest of the Mayhem Attack Squad.
As for this video, I can agree with all of your picks pretty much, though Dauros/Skullgrin I like too much as his merged shell/robot mode to count so low myself. I don't think he ever transformed in Masterforce anyway :D
It's sad that two (and in effect three, given Breakdown is just a Wildrider recolor but even worse because the vehicle mode is completely inaccurate and the spoiler is SO ridiculously lame, but didn't make it out the door in 2022) of the Stunticons belong here, when Motormaster and Dragstrip were so good on their own.
I mean how can a toy only character look off? I'll try what you are telling me to do though, and see how I feel when I get it.
That may be true, but part of the reason I buy Transformers is to have a figure that Transforms so even if they don't do that in the media they are from I find it lame.
And yes it's tragic.
New subscriber here. As much as I disagree with some of your thoughts on certain figures (not necessarily on this list) I absolutely love your style and how hard you rag on some of these! Now I gotta go back and watch the others to see if I agree or disagree with any more 🤣
Welcome new friend. I'm thrilled to hear that even if you don't agree with all the stuff or any of the stuff I say, you can enjoy my videos anyways.
So Skullgrin’s alt mode is a Bob Semple Tank. That explains so much!
Great list and excellent energy!
The Fuck is that thing!
And thank you!
@@PerspectiveEnd A tractor with armour welded onto it with 6 Bren guns placed on it. It was a tank that Bob Semple made for New Zealand in WW2. Check it out; it’s as bad as it sounds.
I find it funny that almost all the figures on the list were from Legacy, goes to show how bad the latter half of Legacy was
Yeah it was unfortunate.
So deadends rear...that tab that you clipped off has a lil hook on it and if you hook it in instead of trying to tab it in, it stays together...I had the same issue at first but I noticed this and now I have zero gap issues with my copy....though you cut yours off so I don't think me saying this will help at all. Nice list I get your complaints though I've got a different viewpoint on several of these figures. Hope you are able to keep growing this year too.
I know what it was for and if mine wasn't misshapen then it would have worked well.
Me: “Studio series 86 starscream”
There, video over.
Yeah, he is pretty sukk.
Blitzwing was really disappointing for me my qc is Terrible the leg tabs won’t tab and I had to leave it hanging out cause it started to break Also just a heads up hasbro wants to make a somewhat accurate figure like Legacy:Blitzwing,ER:Ironhide, etc characters that appeared in the 86 movie claiming there accurate than once you buy it 1 year later they release something like 86 ironhide so then you have to buy the new best wasting the money on what you thought is the best the problem I have with this is the fact that they don’t do it like every 4-5 years they do it like every 2
I was just recently gifted Blitzwing and noticed small stress marks on the legs/wings and where the chest plate connects to the head. I don’t detest the alt modes quite as much as most, but these QC issues make me afraid to even transform the thing. Real bummer..
Yeah, it's both kind of Scummy, and I also welcome the superior 86 Figures.
What the hell happened to Legacy?
Also, that Soundwave got me completely off guard, I gotta watch your full review on that now!
Yeah, that's one most peopel forgot.
BB Soundwave is what got me into collecting Transformers. He looks pretty good on my desk, next to my other Decepticons, but as a stand-alone figure he sucks. The Triggerhappy shoulders and the weird up-skirt blocking the waist swivel are abysmal. I seriously don’t get why so many people praise it lol
Well this was very entertaining, I thought it was hilarious that Sludge ended up on the list despite being on the best of year list, it is also very sad. I fan mode Skullgrin's alt mode to rap his legs around the tank making him look more like a hover tank and then his belt buckle skull sits in the front like it should. Also Hasbro needs to fix their qc issues because even now when the pandemic is basically over, it's only gotten worse, they just have no excuse and because of the blatant fact that they don't care about how it effects the figures and ruins them, it makes me want to just stop collecting all together.
Yeah I don't believe for even a second that the Pandemic ever had a Real Effect on Hasbro. They were crying about how it was impacting them the second the Lockdowns happened, despite the fact that the toys were already on shelves by that point, so unless the lockdowns traveled back through time it couldn't have impacted that First Wave of ER.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah I agree.
Gonna be honest- i love this soundwave. But at the same time i hate it. I agree with everything you said about it, but most of these things don't matter to me much since i always dispaly my figures in static poses, so the shoulder posebility ain't a big issue to me. And his riffle is propably my favourite looking accesory we've got out of the whole bumblebee movi
I'm glad you enjoy it more than I do at least.
The bumblebee movie soundwave has gotta be on of the few worst faces on a transformer I’ve seen. It puts movie starscreams face to shame
I mean it looks like him... It's just weirdly sad and ugly.
Hey PE, long time no see, i was away from the community for a while and missed your videos. So... can you give me your thoughts on something? I used to have tons of Transformers figures and during the last year i sold most of them (only keeping my Siege Optimus and the Studio Series Doritoscream because of emotional value) but for some reason, each time i sold one of the figures i looked at them i started to saw little mistakes and nitpicks like "This design kinda sucks" or "this doesn't look like the character at all" or "This proportions suck"..
Anyway i was wondering if this kinda situation happens to you, what are your thoughts on in it and how often do you keep a figure around? (this is kinda me asking also how big is your collection, just out of curiosity) Love your videos, man, glad your channel is getting bigger and bigger everyday, can't thank you enough for making me buy the Siege Optimus, figure is build different 😬
Has it been, it feels like it's been only a week or two, normally I notice these things.
I'm sorry to hear that, one of my Greatest regrets is getting rid of my old collection.
As for the question, once a get a figure is VERY VERY rare for me to get rid of something. There are a small few figures I really want to offload, and there are a few that I've given away. But of all the figures you've ever seen me cover I'd say there's probably like a 97% chance I've kept them.
And the only reason it's that low is because some of the figures I've bought, I only bought to do my show, and didn't really want in the first place.
A figure doesn't need to be perfect or even close to me, to be fun, or to fit into a display.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah... there were some regrets when i sold some figures, but i think i have kept the ones i really cared. Anyway, thanks for anwsering.
Also, what figures are you looking foward to picking up this year?
I mean Tarn for one, but there's that MP Terrorsaur, and God just so much. So many figures.
Petition to make him destroy the figures knock-off beat-down style next year
Not Happening.
@@PerspectiveEnd damn.
Hi Perspective End.
I bet in hindsight, the 200 bucks you spent on Dai Atlas seems worth it now, since it gave you such great roast material lol.
Indeed it was, it was a great joke so funny. Worth the laugh and the Growth it brought me. Though it still took a LONG time to pay off how much it cost with the revenue from my show, and that video did not pay for it self in a vacuum.
Perspective, I’ve just realize that all of the ROTB characters have 86 syndrome, because when you look at all of their heads, they all look off. For example, when you look at Mirage, his head isn’t the right shape, whee jack doesn’t have his mouth plate or ears, bumblebee looks off, Arcee looks off and last, but not least Optimus’ mouth is at the bottom of his chin. Prove me wrong you can’t.
Well the 80Sickness isn't so much that the heads don't look right, as they look like a Celebrity.
You have no idea what a breath of fresh air is a top 10 worst Transformers of 2022 without Legacy Arcee in it.
She's not that bad! People really need to get over it. She's fine. Not great for the character but fine.
I think your placement of sludge is incredibly fair. You could get one of the best figures of the year but you could also get one of the worst ones. It’s a flip of a coin, that’s why I haven’t bought one yet.
Yeah, it's sad because people deserve a good version of him, but the QC is such a traitor here.
Kinda surprised Rog wasn't here despite the review you have it.
He's a figure from 2019 and there for doesn't qualify.
I LITERALLY threw away my Hot Rod. He was terrible and has still scared me off the entire size class. Definitely the worst toy I've personally bought in years.
Totally understandable. Mines in som drawer somewhere, and for the life of me, I can't remember which one.
The worst of the year being one of the first to be released this year and the best being one of the last figures released. Ironic...
Indeed it is.
"Skullgrin turns into nothing" this is also the guy who loved siege
Yes? Are you saying that the Siege Characters turned into nothing?
@@PerspectiveEnd Not all of them but look at siege soundwave and like half of the other decepticons
I completely relate to what you said at the start of the video: I flat out CAN'T make one of these lists without sounding like I'm bored to tears with the video I'm making. I've just ended up saying "f**k it," and making two top 25s of my favorite figures.
I find making both interesting. I don't feel the temptation to make more Positive than Negative, it's really just what strikes me with inspiration in the moment.
I would like to thank you, I was very tempted to go get a studio scrapwave (character name idea?) because it looked “so good!” So if it wasn’t for you, I would be stuck with that trash.
I'm happy to have saved you from that thing. And yes Scrap wave is a good name for that thing.
Wooo, what we’ve all been waiting for
Did it live up to your expectations.
@@PerspectiveEnd it did, even though the figures didn’t
I'm gonna be honest, I have had BB Soundwave since last December, and I still really like him lol. I see his flaws, but I still think it's a lot of fun
I'm glad you enjoy him more than I do.
The fact that so many chug figures are this bad is the reason I am slowing down my collecting. There’s a lot to look forward to and a good bit of legacy has been nice but honestly after wave 3 im a bit exhausted of this. Right now I’ve got my eyes on the rise of the beasts characters, which I’m already only buying selectively. bumblebee looks icky and that studio series Airazor is an eyesore but Rotb Airazor and battletrap are the reason I’m still thinking about collecting because education is expensive 😦
The thing is that most of the Chug Figures this year were really good. It's mostly just Hasbro's crashing and burning QC that's causing this mess.
I just got Sludge and while the legs are not loose in the slightest mine has that Ultra Magnus leg defect where the ratchets in the hips aren't aligned so he can't stand up straight
That's a new one I hadn't heard.
Number 7 has an good robot mode and an incredibly lazy tank mode
Indeed it does.
I was expecting Soundwave to be on the list
I wasn’t expecting him to be number 1
You had better foresight than most people then, because a lot of them were blindsided by him showing up at all.
I'd almost accuse year of having karmic justice behind it, but that implies we deserved it.
There does have to balance though.
SS BB soundwave is one of those figures that I love and hate at the same time. The robot mode looks great but the posing is weird as hell and I just do not like the alt mode at all. I somehow lucked out on the QC with that and ravage, but GOD I honestly hate the ravage.
Ravage sucks. I think a working pair is more common than not, but I am one of the people who lost that lottery.
People needa understand! The TR blitzwing gets a pass on being the wrong tank but understand this, the TR isn’t trying to be G1 accurate, it’s supposed to be Cool on its own and it’s also a good figure! Meanwhile the legacy is trying to be G1 accurate
It isn’t correct! It’s like if hasbro was trying to make another G1 styled Optimus that was accurate in robot mode but in vehicle mode, it’s the wrong type of truck and has blue at the front with some red highlights. It would bother you because it’s the wrong truck and has features that shouldn’t be there!
Exactly! I can respect it doing it's own thing. But the legacy isn't, instead it's trying and FAILING BADLY to be G1.
@@PerspectiveEnd EXACTLY
To be fair, Deadend failing to deliver us from darkness is kind of meta. While I've yet to experience the mold, I feel that the best way for it to have "integrated" better with Menasor would have been to make his chest flatter. I know it would probably make him look more "boring", but hey, it would not have been the worst compromise. Besides, I think his figure went too far in the opposite direction where he looks too visually busy
Absolutely, a flatter chest would have projected him up off the arm less, it would have also helped if the front end didn't curve in but met flatly with the arm.
Okay, can I just say that thumnail is already representing how bad the figures are
Thank you! I was super proud of this one.
man, sound wave could’ve been so good but they scuffed it up
You aren't wrong.
The Soundwave alt mode is SO bad I don’t even aim for it. I fanmode it into a tank or a crawler depending on how I feel that day.
Which helps but it still means the figure isn't doing as well as it should be.
With the Wild Rider kibble, I tend to have it extended when I have him connected to menasor since it looks cooler.
Like the Backpack? You open that up on his leg?
@@PerspectiveEnd I do
Terrorsaur was my #1 worst figure of 2022, like many i pre ordered him, waited 6-7 months, only to be let down by how bad the qc was on him, only to realize months after he isnt all that accurate
Bumblebee soundwave, actually made it only my best figures list
That's an interesting little difference between the two of us. I feel for sure like Terrorsaur should be on this list but not deep into it, and I wouldn't put anything as my number 1 except for maybe the fallen if I got it save fore Soundwave.
I agree with all of your picks except dead-end and skull grin
I get why you'd disagree on those two.
I agree with some of your choices.
Bu I also think the day you will understand that Legacy is not supposed to be G1 accurate in every single thing the sun will explode.
Not counting that some of the vehicles have copyright. Tanks too.
Blitzwing is 100% pretending to be accurate. There is no reason for the Tank Dick otherwise.
@@PerspectiveEnd Exluding the tank dick (which I agree, it's ugly but not terrible) the tank itself is great. Being not accurate doesn't mean bad. You are the one who always brags about how recent figures try so bad at being accurate that it compromises the final product. So why does it matter now? This is not SS. It's Generations.
Yeah, I was definitely expecting most of these to make the list, with the exception of Terrorsaur (retool of 2021) and Sludge (#10 best), though I do get why they're here.
What I will also say is I finally understand why you've been criticizing Legacy Blitzwing so heavily, even if they are things that I don't really mind all that much.
Terrorsaur I have no excuse for. I just didn't think properly for that one, though I will defend that As Airazor it was fine, so it did change enough to utterly alter it's value.
Thank you! I'm glad to have finally been able to convey that. I've been loosing my mind trying to get people to get what I mean.
Not gonna do my own list since I don't have ten that I think would fit the list.
My predictions for the list in no specific order are: Pointblank, Skullgrin, Wildrider, Blitzwing, and SS Bumblebee Soundwave. Off the top of my head I cant think of any 3rd party figures that you reviewed that would make it on the list.
Also I feel like it should be acknowledged that despite this list being all chug figures, chug still had a great year.
Probably not as good as 2021 but still a great year for chug.
Damn! Accurate Predictions my guy. And yes I did acknowledge that.
Idk why but I thought that at least 3 if these came out in 2021 not 2022. I'm just stupid
The definitely came out on the border of the year to the point where it kind of qualified for either.
These are all pretty tolerable in my book. (For reference, Armada Sideswipe represents the absolute worst type of Transformer I’d buy to complete my collection of a particular line, while Double Clutch belongs to that one subset of trash that not even I would touch. I know they’re both old, but I think you get my point.)
And that may be true where they are tolerable, but does that not make them still the worst of year?
Damn, last year was amazing for Transformers toys, got some amazing finds.
Indeed it was, the Highs were High, but the Lows were LOOOOW.
@@PerspectiveEnd Though the distribution still sucks. WHAT THE HELL I CAN'T FIND WILDRIDER, ARMADA STARSCREAM, SKULLGRIN, HELL EVEN THE CORE CLASS BOTS I CAN'T FIND!
I was honestly expecting to see Rog mostly because Hasbro had up charged him.
Rog was a Rerelease of a figure from Siege, and was therefor disqualified. Despite how much I wish I could have put him on this list.
Yeah. The moment I saw the reviews come out for Wildrider and Dead End, I just sorta gave up on the Stunticons. I only have Dragstrip at the time of writing this and I didn't even like him all that much because he's so damn plain looking.
My friend bought me Motormaster but has been hogging it because he's enjoying it so much and I'm inclined to let him keep it. Hell, I might just give him my Dragstrip so that completing the Stunticons will be HIS problem.
Sorry to hear that you don't even care about Dragstrip, and it's just too bad because Motormaster is really fun. It's such a crime they put the two good ones out first, and then Phoned in the rest.
I didn’t have that problem with the ravage and soundwaves back not tabbing in. I just keep him in robot mode and use his 2015 rid toy if I want a vehicle mode that at least turns into this cybertronion car(if that’s what you can call the 2015 toy). I did like soundwave from bumblebee movie but it just didn’t set in as the best soundwave.
Yeah, a lot of people didn't have the problem with the particular combination of QC to have that happen.
I actually love bumblebee Soundwave but I understand the hate
Better than you enjoy your stuff, than feel like you wasted money on it.
I feel like Point Blank should've gotten the top spot. He has worse poseability, worse proportions, and worse accessories. Whereas Soundwave may have a bad alternate mode and transformation, he still looks good in robot mode and has better accessories.
Yes but at least Pointblank's Altmode is good, and his Transformation is more fun.
It's hilarious that you have to spend an extra 20 bucks on a DNA upgrade kit just to have Sludge work the way he should have out of the packaging. Great figure though!
like having the toes flip up into the chest? Yeah kind of.
2022 had more good than bad I feel, there’s still been a few I didn’t like though. Those ones being Legacy Wildrider, DK-2 Guard, SS 2007 Bumblebee (rerelease), SS 2007 Optimus Prime (rerelease) and SG Starscream. All of these are from what I’ve bought in the year but I agree on saying that Pointblank is bad.
Yeah most of those didn't qualify for this list though being Retools and Rereleases.
Ashame none of the new RED figures got shat on. Besides the RED Shockwave, I like how he looks.
It's a Shame I didn't shit on the figure that you liked?
@@PerspectiveEnd No, I’m saying that it’s a ashame you didn’t shit on any of the RED figures
The only one I didn’t want you to shit on was RED Shockwave, because he looks decent
Lol loved it I agree with everything u said there and I never released how blessed I was with both ss ravage and ss sw
Well then you didn't agree with everything, and I'm glad you didn't, better that you got a version of that that didn't suck.
@@PerspectiveEnd I probably should’ve worded it different but I understood everything you’re saying they’re definitely funny listening to the Rosts though
Ok Mr. Pend so I noticed how you complained about blitzwing being the wrong tank. This just feels like a stupid hill to die on, there’s PLENTY of toys with the wrong alt modes. ER cliff isn’t a 924, ER runamuck is hai brothers lotus esprit turbo Instead if his firebird trans am sport, the ER Datsuns are an amalgamation of cars instead if the fair lady. And I noticed how you had figured on this list for being inaccurate, faux forming, and bad alt modes. Legacy dragstrip ticks every one of those boxes. He’s horribly inaccurate, has horrible proportions, visible hollowness on the front of his arms and the top of his torso, unpainted pegged wheels in alt mode, a visible head in alt mode that does not at all resemble the seat of the Tyrell-p34, and a visible faux engine that get this… LEAVES THE CAR WITH 2 ENGINES! You shit on wildrider for having his backpack, despite notoishing it down as far as it can go, yet ignore that dragstrips backpack being on his shoulders leaves him with no back at all. I’ve even shown you in DMs how he poses better, is more acurate, and that the backpack splits have a necessary purpose. They were added so that you don’t have to stress the plastic in transformation. Just un clip, move back pack, and re clip. Gets kinda annoying to see you so picky and choosy with these, like universe hound wasn’t even on the best of year!!! As always take care.
Yes, and I'd be fine with that. I'm not worried about it being the wrong one.
What's PISSING me off is that it is SOOO horribly wrong, and yet I'm being told it's the right one. To the point where they stuck the Ugliest thing I've ever seen on it, with a gap where you can see the robot face in altmode on it just to claim "See it's the original one".
Ok I now a way to fix the big as holes in pterosaurs simply pop out the peace with the hole and invert it I think it was more or lass a manufacturing issue as I looks a bit batter with the wings holes being covered
Those weren't the holes I was talking about, they are bad but I've figured that out, I wish I had filmed a new segment for that at least.
Gonna comment on every figure that I own, BECAUSE WHY NOT?
Sludge: Yeah, he deserves to be here. The QC issues just make him a paradox to both sides. I got the bad side of it but I mostly fixed it.
Dead End: I actually prefer him over every other Combaticon. He poses decently enough, looks pretty nice, has a better conversion than Dragstrip, and the car mode looks sweet. And there are even tutorials on RUclips on how to fix the gap issues WITHOUT having to fix anything. Doesn't make it better in that regard, but still.
Skullgrin: This is gonna be weird, but I genuinely love this figure. A absolutely fantastic robot mode with decent articulation and weaponry. As for the alt mode? I just imagine it as a space battleship. Kinda like one of Dr Robotniks from Sonic? Really stretching it there, but it works for me.
Blitzwing: To me, he's meh. Decent robot mode, decent jet mode, decent tank mode. I'm not a G1-ist, nor do I care about the character either, I just got him for cheap so there's nothing bothering me about him.
Ravage: I'll be honest, I forgot I owned him. MOVING ON.
Wildrider: Breakdown but worse in my opinion. Breakdown just has that sort of presence that he doesn't.
Soundwave: This used to be my favourite SS figure. Now he sits on my shelf collecting dust, because I can't be bothered to mess around with him. He's just boring. Looks fantastic, just really boring.
I knew number 10 could go no other way with both lists.
The Combaticons?
I do understand why people like this figure, it's really just the Altmode that kills it for me.
Man there is nothing Decent about those altmodes.
As you should.
Break down has partsforming and the wrong altmode though.
Indeed he is. There's really nothing he's got going for him except for the look.
I feel like Terrorsaur should be lower. Not because I think Skullgrin should be higher, but because my terrorsaur has terrible Q.C. where the wings pop off if you so much BREATHE on it. It's a nightmare.
I did kind of forget that I had to touch up mines QC.
I still prefer SS’s Bumblebee movie’s soundwave’s hunk of junk over the trying to be a modern update while using a figure that was never meant to turn into a cassette player while also keeping the random crap used from the previous mold and calling it tabs for transformation while still looking bad and clearly changing a key aspect to the original G1 transformation while throwing in 2 tapes where one excels at being good by making a better color scheme and an accurate head sculpt while the other just goes below ground zero and changes nothing but the head by opening its mouth barely and still having the most God awful horrendous abomination of turning a literal flat box into an animal and failing at both (but at least it has the tape designs)
Edit: I forgot the stupid faux forming in Netflix Soundwave
Oh, to be clear I really don't like the Netflix one, it was never a good idea, and it never looked right. They should have just done it from the ground up.
@@PerspectiveEnd I just mixed the better pieces from Netflix (like the red visor head, simpler Cassette like legs, and better shoulders) and put them on my legacy figure. Removing the back pillars of the Legacy, while also cutting off the space craft kibble off his for arms and sanding them down. It’s simple, effective, doesn’t transform, and gets rid of the Chunky Chest, massive kibble for the wrong vehicle mode, and Faux parts that served no purpose but executives wanting to cash out on an easier remold. Do I recommend? Absolutely not, just wait for a better 86 soon.
Dead end was the chosen one, he was supposed to destroy the sith not join them
Wasn't it "Bring the Force into the Light, not Cast it in Darkness"?
Are you planning to take a look at the metagate terrorsaur?
What do you think my friend?
Man seeing that people have very shit copies of sludge makes me grateful that mine came without any
Yeah that's a Tragedy. People deserve better with this figure.
The Stunticons did suffer, again, I just completed my Mensor the other day with the last one arriving, the last two, I just transformed and stuck onto Mensor and haven't done anything with them since, but standards are slipping, but then, I think Hasbro needs to regin in the amount they produce as some figures are suffering, thou I kind of wish, they were on Bayverse figures than ones based upon G1
I mean I don't know if they are producing enough already for them to tone it back, I still haven't seen a Dragon Megatron yet.
Yesterday I actually found sludge at a Walmart with a box so broken that you could just grab the figure, the guy who broke it clearly left it because of that fucking QC, it has the loose legs
So did you grab it? If you did I'm so sorry to hear that. The person who broke into the box probably wanted to know if the legs were damaged, and if they weren't they might have just bought it like normal.
@@PerspectiveEnd never bought it because of the QC
WILDRIDER SWEEP
also weird if you included "legacy" hot rod in the wrost why didnt you choose legacy blaster as the best I think it has more ups and captrured the g1 design more than any chug figured could wish to, sure it doesnt have genuis designs of legacy bw or the genuis of jhiaxus but i genuienly thought he'd be as honorable mention
Legacy Blast is Great, but there just wasn't space for it on the Best of Year list. Too much was too good.
I'm relieved to see I'm not the only one putting Sludge on the disappointment list. He is the most frustrating figure for me. If mine didn't have the loose hips, he would have easily been in my Top 5 or even my #1 favorite figure of 2022. I didn't buy as many TFs last year as I did in 2021 so I just did a top 3. Sludge is my #3 most disappointing figure. My #2 is kind of stupid. Legacy Blitzwing. I didn't even buy him. That does make it unfair for me to judge it, but he looked so awful that I didn't want to get him. Especially for the Leader Class price point. I really wanted a new Blitzwing for the longest time and they BIGTIME dropped the ball. My #1 is Bumblebee Movie Soundwave. Nothing really to say there that you didn't mention.
Yeah it's super sad that his QC is just so ruinous.
And I don't think it's unfair to put that on your disappointing list. It would be kind of unfair to put it on the others, but not picking it up because it's disappointing makes sense.
Soundwaves alt mode is trying to be a concept for what his alt mode would look like in the movie so technically it is trying to do something unlike the other third party soundwave figure and also i dont see how if the alt mode isn't good the figure is terrible, me preferably i would rather the alt modes suffer instead of the robot mode.
Well, the altmode is terrible, but so is the Transformation, and so is the posing. So right off the bat 2/3rds of the whole point of the figure are bad, and with the posing having weird shoulders, a near useless waist, and 90 bends it's got nothing but looking Ok in robot mode.
Justice is served!
Remarkable list of 'unremarkables'! 😀
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed so much.
@@PerspectiveEnd 😀 My pleasure.
Stay awesome, bro!
Ill be honest, I still like number 1, but the others I do understand the probl3ms with them. Hope legacy can do better in the future.
Glad you enjoy that even if I don't. Funny how two of the worst figures were ones I was given because you and udon just didn't like them.
@@PerspectiveEnd Fair. Also on another note, that new rotb airazor could work as a cool new terrorsaur with enough retooling.
The TRT blitzwing is not an abrams but just a modern main battle tank, they all have the slopped frunt, long amo rack, and side skirts
I mean it looks more like an Abrams tank than most of them with the harsher Turret Angles.
@@PerspectiveEnd Well the abrams (My favorite modern tank) has a wider turret, but I see the resemblance.
I don't really have a problem with wild rider I just passed the kibble off As a cool Cape. But This is my 1st combiner. I can't really say anything
I can not see it as a Cape my self.
Hopefully your next one will be at least as good as this one.
Top video!
I have no issues with this list being majority CHUG figures.
Legacy, Core, Bumblebee Movie, Studio Series, etc, etc...All have mass produced figures that are easily and readily available in shops to Joe Public; some of whom are kids who can't afford, or aren't aware of 3rd Party figures.
It is not unreasonable, therefore, to expect a high standard of Quality Control on figures that make Hasbro the majority of their profits, and for a large amount of these figures, we're just not getting that.
It's understandable that it's this way, I just feel like I'm beating up on a weaker opponent when I do only chug.
Your reasons to hate Menasor limbbots is the reason I hate the whole package!!
I mean I do kind of hate the whole thing too. It's just just the limbs I don't like. Though I will say the Legacy Motormaster at least tried to make a case for it.
Dead end was my biggest disappointment.
I understand why.
Glad to say I only own a few of these molds. That being Terrorsaur in toy colors and the required motormaster limbs. Hard pass.
Yeah, you lucked out with not getting a lot of these.
The Terrorsaur should be higer (lower?) because it's an exclusive. Also, the wings are clearly missing pieces to lock them into place so they don't fall out. The buzzworthy version suffers greatly from this problem.
I don't think rarity should have any bearing.
I forgot about some of these figures, I guess they just weren’t worth the space in my mind
You didn't forget, you blocked the memories of them.
I actually think the 3rd party BBM Soundwave is worse, but that wasn't a 2022 figure as I recall. It's worse in that it doesn't look 100% screen accurate while transforming into literally nothing. Like you can't even make excuses about the robot mode because they have to make compromises for the alt-mode. This has no official alt-mode so you can make it into whatever you want without sacrificing the robot mode, but the figure transforms into a pile of crap and doesn't look accurate.
This also turns into nothing, and at least that thing posed well. Unless you are talking about a different one?
I think Titans return Blitzwing is closer to a Churchill tank than an Abrams in tank mode
Man I don't know what you are on about. The Legacy looks more like a Churchill.
Despite how SS BB Soundwave only has his robot mode going for him, I still like the figure.
With that said, the designer team at Hasbro was really trying too hard to reach with the alt mode design they came up with for BB Soundwave. They wanted a blocky character to transform into a sleek hover craft. It would have been easier to have him with an alt mode similar to what Soundwave had in WFC/FOC. I’m not saying the hover craft mode is impossible, but this figure should have had more budget put into its transformation if this is what Hasbro decided to go with.
But with that said, now that Hasbro has given BB Soundwave an official alt mode, do you think Takara or a 3rd party company can make an MP BB Soundwave with a better transformation for the hover craft alt mode, and perhaps make the alt mode more close to the concept art for it?
Honestly I don’t know why they didn’t just make him turn into some kind of van, similar to what Ratchet and Ironhide did. The design lends itself to that a lot more, and it would at least be something, even if it was just a block on wheels. Regardless of that though, I do like it, and it’s not bad enough to be on my top 10 worst pf year.
@@windowbewbs9064 Funnily enough there is an earlier concept art for BB Soundwave where he has a chest similar to BB Ratchet and Ironhide’s chests. That concept art also had Soundwave with a more Decepticon insignia-shaped head. So if that concept art was used in the final product, we definitely would have gotten a Soundwave that transformed more like Ratchet and Ironhide.
There were a lot of ways to make it so the figure didn't end up on this list. Like even if they didn't fix the Altmode or transformation they could have at least had it pose well, Which this thing is below average on at best.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, some of the posing joints are pretty weird. The shoulder joints are awkward in the way they move and the waist swivel isn’t even at the proper waist, it’s right under it and the crotch flap. It really wouldn’t have been that hard to have the crotch flap connected to the waist swivel, and yet Hasbro didn’t do that for some odd reason.
It has to make you wonder if Hasbro was just really lazy on this Soundwave figure, or if they ran out of budget for the posability and transformation. Especially when compared to almost every other SS BB movie Transformers figure; excluding Cliffjumper, Cybertron Bumblebee, VW Bumblebee, and Plymouth Shatter, and maybe the helicopter Dropkick but that figure actually had a pretty good transformation and look to it, it’s just slightly smaller and skinnier than most other SS deluxe figures.
I got ravage forget Christmas so I’m still gonna get sound wave to display but I probably won’t like it
I hope you are wrong about that, I hope you get it and question why I was so negative about the whole set.
Thankfully I skipped most of the terrible figures this year, but I did get a few stinkers. My worst three would have to be Wreck ‘N Rule Spindle and Masterdominus, and Legacy Prime Arcee. They all had terrible QC, and Arcee is just bad in so many ways on top of that.
Edit: Add Hot Rod to my list, I totally forgot I had that piece of garbage until he showed up on your list😂
Spindle is so Awful, he just has a complete Lack of QC.
And yes you should forget him.
I already have 5 of the current studio series core class so now I feel obligated to get bumblebee ravage (and all of the other ss cores), even though I know he’s not that good
Don't man, you can just skip one. It's not even in scale to the other cores.
I am genuinely suprised that Legacy Wildrider wasn't #1.
He's bad, Loathsome even, but man this was a Year with some BOOOOMBS.
