- Where is the love for the 68 Ford Muscle cars? Is it all Camaro/Mustang and Charger? The Tonino GT is a great looking car, great performance... Not sure about the films claim "best looking car"... But it deserves more credit I think. Lets see the dealer training on the 1968 Ford Torino...

Love the 68'+69' Cobra with formal roofline and vinyl top.
The 68 Torino GT fastback was a beautiful automobile. I remember being a 17 year old and just drooling over those.
I ended up getting a 67 R/T with a 440 instead. It was a tough decision.
I would have taken the 67 R/T as well, and I also love the Torinos.
Give me a 427 Fairlane 500 with the 4 speed any day. 425 horse power beats 390 horse power any day.
The 1970 is my FAV Torino.
My mom's first car was a dark green 1970 Ford Torino coupe. Said it was her favorite car. Unfortunately she lived in upstate New York and by the time she had bought it in the mid 80s it had already faced it's fair share of salting. Eventually the floors rusted out and she had to say goodbye :(
A nice coupe is hard to find...
My first car was a 1969 Fairlane tudor hardtop black over Royal Maroon, 302 3 speed Cruise O matic. Also had a Grabber blue 1971 Torino Gt 302 white interior. Of all the cars I've owned, wish I still had my Gt.
I had a 1970 Ford Taunus and the rear treatment of the coupe was near identical to the Torino, especially the lights.
The 1968 Fairlane/Torino was one of the best facelifts of an existing car design. It did indeed look like a completely new car and was much sleeker than the 1966-67 Fairlane upon which it was based.

It's funny that even the sales training videos mentioned the 427. The 427 would have been a game changer. I stuffed a 460 in my '68 Torino and tear up roads every weekend.

Gee, as much as I’m a Ford guy, even I have to admit that the new-for-‘68 General Motors A-bodies were equally good looking, if not better looking from certain angles.
well.... I'm sure GM and Chrysler said the same thing. :) They were good looking cars, you simply just don't see them a lot. I think the emphasis went to the Mustang for the muscle car crowd for Ford.
This was a K L E E N line up - think about everything that came about in 1968…. The 302 simple things we take for granted that were a luxury then - a defroster and dashboard lighting throughout and radios and motors that represent gas mileage and motors that could climb pikes peak or endurance races ect - this all before government intervention.
Why are the 68-69 fastback Torinos so expensive? Seriously some people are charging alot for even for rollers!
