    The molecule of adapalene is more "rigid". It has less flexibility to adapt and bind to the receptors. Tretinoin has lots of bounds that gives flexibility. It binds to more receptors, it is less selective. It has more side effects probably due this lower selectivity but science still doesn't know well the mechanism of action of tretinoin

    Vit a derivatives are great! I have been using lrp rendermic r cream and avene physiolift night balm for acne and they work well especially lrp rendermic but both also helped a lot with my neck wrinkles/fold traces significantly which was a pleasant surprise 🥰😎👌👏

      @@dreamie9868 you probably have a weak form like retinal palmitate or something . And even then i will find it slightly concerning because drying has been seen . So if you have been using it for a long time may be try to minimise it and just do the maintenance. And even then know that there are risks especially for those who already suffer a dry eye problem .

      Thanks for this question! I remember hearing that retinoids may cause some kind of eye damage. I just found this study which seems to link the damage you're referring to to *oral* retinoids, and also found it reversible. But I'd love to hear what you have to say on the subject dr idriss! www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10287853/

      If you've sensitive skin then first go with adapelene.

    • @joeleesam4062
      @joeleesam4062 2 месяца назад

      personally, I found tretinoin better on both counts. The main benefit of adapaline is that it’s less irritating so unless you have sensitive skin you may as well use tret since there’s more evidence supporting the anti-ageing effects. Just start slowly and build it up. If you’ve never used retinoids it could be worth using adapeline first, especially as it’s easier to get hold of, and if that gives you desired results just stick with it, if after the purging period you are still not seeing desired results, graduate to tretinoin.
      Products work differently for different people but the biggest pitfalls I think skincare enthusiasts are falling into rn is overdoing it. As soon as I pared everything back my skin was much happier. Don’t use a million products at once, especially when you are starting out with retinoids.
      If you start retinoids be especially careful to protect your skin from the sun!!

    Thanks for sharing such amazing tips with us. Now, I know what to use for my skin. I need adalapene for my closed comedones. but, my dermat put me on adapalene only for 1 month then switched it to tretinoin. Didn't mention proper precautions for that. My skin got burned.

    • @rejectsagainstreality1335

      The only effective ones will be what's derived from beef liver and the retinol within them. Look up videos on people taking beef liver supplements for examples but to battle serious acne you'll have to get a serious amount of vitamin a on par with ultra low dose accutane to be effective. Most vitamin a supps are complete bs because accutane/beef liver are some of the only bioavailable forms of vit a. If it comes from a vegetable you'll get next to nothing from it when it comes to vitamin a.

      @@rejectsagainstreality1335 vitamin a is lipid soluble and builds over time, imo id stay away from supplements with vitamin a, or avoid taking multiple supps with vitamin a and keep track of how much your taking. Overdosing on vitamin A can negatively impact your health.

      @@rejectsagainstreality1335 if beef was one of the only rare sources of vitamin A then all vegans and vegetarians would be deficient, which obviously just isn't true. Sounds like you made that entire comment up. 1cup of sweet potatoes, winter squash, or kale will easily provide 100% or more of your daily value of vitamin A from the sources I've looked up. Idk why everyone wants to desperately believe that beef is magically healthy when the obvious answer has always been to simply eat your veggies

      @@tyronepapas6243 great points definitely and always talk with a doctor cause dependent upon genetics you could get hypervitaminosis. But from the studies I've read you'd need to generally get about 25000 ius of retinol for I think it was a year and a half to start showing symptoms in most people. My memory is fuzzy tho from years of research so talk with the doc lol
