A few tips for new players in this smt/persona type games. Stock up on the most cheap healing items. When you are exploring dungeons, you use those items to top up your hps, don't use healing magic(only when is extremely necessary on battle). That way you save your mp for offensive magic/skills, doing so you can explore the dungeons more faster. Buffs and Debuffs only for Bosses and Mid-Bosses or special monsters(there are some in dungeons). They are a waste of mp otherwise. Its not bad to flee from a battle when you started ambushed and the odds are really against you. Is better to flee, restore your hp with items and try to gain the advantage agains that enemy, that way you consumed less resources(mp). MP is the main resource for you to explore the dungeons, and at the beginning and mid game the items that restore mp are rare to get to. Last but not least, it is not suggested that you play this game on Hard, these games start somewhat easy but the difficulty of the fights scalate after the first few hours. In this showcase it seemed easy, but he did not fight even a mid-boss, only a scripted Boss. Good luck to all
Except using Mage on the Protag allows you to have infinite MP. They made MP less of an issue imho. I went into the main dungon on day one (using some basic guide since I hate planning out the days myself) And leaving up the two spawn trance crystals allows you to easily gain full mp with some basic overworld grinding. I'm not sure if the devs did that on purpose. Might be since you only get 1 mp per mob kill so it takes time but still.
Game is woke jokes aside, this is one of the few games that does a "diverse" cast correctly. Every character being from different tribes, all looking different / acting different due to that, and making them flow with the story well. Also they are designed well and not all just ugly for no reason
People who are complaining about it being woke are doing so because of localization changes. Idk how true that is but given what happened for royals western release and the gay guys who flirt with ryuji I would not be surprised but I haven't noticed anything so could be overexagerrated

You got that ass backwards; Altus changed JRPG. Shin Megami wasn’t approachable enough but layed the groundwork’s very well, Persona was niche but already getting truly refined, Metaphor however is a true magnum opus; 35y of experience condensed into an approachable and relatable piece of art, impressive at first glance, and once it successfully has your attention it just can’t stop piling on layers if details, intrigues, and interconnected mechanics. I’m clearly bias, Kabbalah, Jung, Machiavelli, Miura, this blends all my favourite interests carte blanche in a new and unexplored experience; that said, 140h in, this is 10/10 in my book. Easily the best RPG this generation. On a side note, it also highlights Square Enix’s decline by straying away from their roots; this is how you innovate turn based combat and tell a genre defining epoch, FF7’s re~butchery pales in comparison, both mechanically and by virtue that it fails to tell a complete story to date and for years to come..
"Easily the best RPG this generation" until expedition 33 releases next year. Also, would you say its better than SMT V vengeance? I'm still in the beginning of metaphor.
@@bigbosss7911 Definitely, all things considered SMT:V was a bit of a let down; certainly a great game in its own regard but a weaker outing amongst its peers. It being a Switch game was a mayor contributor, the expansion and subsequent widening of system availability rectified a great deal of its inherent shortcomings yet in scope it still pales in comparison to Metaphor. SMT:5V now proudly stands amongst its peers as a great continuation whereas Metaphor stands out on its uniquely own right, by virtue of treading new grounds and paving a familiar yet innovative new path. Not to mention that it single-handedly is the best introduction to Jung’s body of thought barring dedicated educational material. You might genuinely walk away a changed man once the credits roll, if not at least enlightened with new insight and perhaps interests.
Thank you, I keep trumpeting that the FF7 remake is utter dogshit (Nomura is a decent character designer but should have never risen above that), but there are so many people defending it. Square Enix hasn't made a GREAT game since FFX. FFXII was their last chance but they didn't let Matsuno direct it how he wanted it, and as a result the game is half-finished in so many ways. The Octopath games are a step in the right direction, but nothing like the old great RPGs: FF Tactics, FFVII, Xenogears, and so on.
@@CHHaywood Well I’ll be damned, I wholeheartedly agree! I will say tho, I do appreciate 12 and 13-3 in their own regard; both where, subjectively, surprisingly engaging. That said, as a whole, I do question their validity for baring the (once?) honorabel title of Final Fantasy. To his credit, and at the same time dismay, Nomura is one hell of a marketing man as well. Lightning genuinely became somewhat of a fashion icon, spouting multiple magazine spreads and covers with the biggest brands imaginable; sadly this niece positive bleaks in comparison with the negatives it brought about. A remarkable feat which I wish was achieved by someone else or at least more responsibly.. Yoko Taro’s Voice of Cards series, IMO, is also worth mentioning; novel in approach, quite stellar in execution, and with great writing. Very reasonably priced as well, solely wins in my book.
Jokes aside- I’m so glad it doesn’t have the high school setting like in persona. Also happy they ditched the teenage dating system. I like the hit before battle, too. World of Warcraft, Cataclysm remastered Cataclysm was fun the first time around, but if you want me to re-play it core issues has to be addressed. Number one is deathwing nonsense flying in every zone and the random dragon soul raid. Please center the entire expansion around deathwing lair in the blackrock mountain, vastly expand the zones in that area, add new factions and as much content as possible. I am talking about more underground area, dwarven clan conflict, even large scale battles, maybe even make friends with dark iron rebels. Blizzard would then have to redirect the existing leveling zones elsewhere or incorporate them into their late game strategy. I cannot stress how much LFR should only allow you to kill the first boss and it should be more prestige to players that manages to defeat the last boss of raids. Store should be able to offer cosmetic skins to already obtained mounts or items to balance revenue with accomplishment. If you choose to fly instead of using a ground mount there should be a continuous gold cost while in the air making people opt for the much more memorable and visually stunning ground route.
This game is freaking awesome, I wasn't going to get it right away but I'm glad I did as I was immediately addicted. One of the best games Atlus has put out to date in my opinion. The world/universe is super interesting and I've been really interested in the story so far, but Atlus always does some pretty good story work. And the music goes so hard, I could listen to the title screen music on repeat for hours. Fucking love it. And I'm super glad to see Asmon getting into a game style he doesn't play often or hasn't gotten into.
Everybody freaking out about him putting it on hard... like I dunno maybe they know that Asmon sucks at these type of games or something but I've always played other games from Altus such as Persona on hard. On normal you just tend to get so OP that it's more a grind than a challenge. 20:15 okay for the "anime" faces it's whatever but *that is not* the right voice for that face. That should defenitly be like an old lady with baggy face voice, she just sounds 30-50. Not 70-90 with a face that's falling apart. 32:20 I got this impression way earlier from the reaction to the bandits having an igniter. The reaction of "they managed to get ahold of one of those?" combined with the purpose of how it was used in that scene (firing a warning shot) made me think it was meant to be the fantasy equivalent to guns in this universe. Even moreso when they make it clear how ubiquitous it had become with everyone and their dog owning one because you didn't need archmage levels of magic power to use magic anymore thanks to these tools. And based on the execution and the bandit scene reaction, just like real life it sounds like crimes involving these tools are taken VERY seriously and criminals have to go black market routes to get these tools. Wouldn't be surprised if you get your igniters taken from you if you commit the equivalent of a felony in this universe too.
Not planning on buying it, looks interesting but if ear the translation will be so butchered. it most likely strays far from the actual story. ATLUS western staff hate the Japanese dub and refused for years to include it when fans asked for it and even mocked them for it.

Good luck to all
Thanks for the heads up
Except using Mage on the Protag allows you to have infinite MP.
@@DieKao Knight archetype gets a cheap aoe heal in the overworld too. Can heal to full with 2 mana
Nah these are basic RPG strats 😊
@@DieKao This becomes WAY less effective later on. You only get 1MP per enemy stunned/defeated in the overworld.

@@Jarjarfunk You're probably right. This is the goty
Cataclysm was fun the first time around, but if you want me to re-play it core issues has to be addressed.

I need to play persona 3 reload and persona 5 soon. I played persona 4 about a year ago and put 110 hours into it and still haven't made it to the end of that game lol. I had to take a break because it seriously feels like that game is just going to never end😭
Wtf
The last time a game changed my life, I dropped out of school.
Britain and Japan have always had so much in common. Even their histories have many, MANY similarities.
And look at them now. Both societies LOVE to que.
anime game with good storytelling? holy shit, it evolves.
i would LOVE a full playthrough of this. it dropped on Friday and i couldn't let it go until it was time for class on Monday. this game is really fucking good.
I'm gonna say the thing.
I don't care what everyone says. "Anime shit" "weeb trash" "weird" "nerd" yeah whatever. This game right here is my game of the year.
