  • Distilled at the new William Grant & Sons built Ailsa Bay lowland distillery, this smooth and mellow then year old is the companion to the Land Cask bottling. In our opinion, unless you are 100% there for the peat, this Sea Cask is the superior of the pair.

I like it, I just picked up a bottle for 20 euros and at that price I thoroughly enjoy it.

You gents have a great way of working with what you have in your area.
This sounds worthy of a try...
Interesting comparison to Clynelish. They both seem like offerings from the big shots for the hell of it..
This new distillery has a lot of potential in the next ten years..getting up to a wider core range if that is in the plans.
I agree...the more whiskies the better....
The world can buy the new releases and I will just keep drinking great old stuff here in Cambodia...
    Cheers

The Land Cask 10 is the least expensive official peated bottling I know of, and the Sea Cask is the least expensive official 10 I know of. Both decent, and both far better than most comparably priced Blends. That being said, for just a few dollars more there are some better options IMHO, like say Loch Lomand 12 or even the Compass Box Artist & Glasgow Blends ✌️

Great review... even better for confirming my love for this particular offering. I think it's exciting enough while being smooth enough while keeping it interesting at the back end. Very happy to recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit of sea spray in the back of their throat.
Lovely stuff. Definitely looking into getting me the Land cask soon.

i bought the two and i agree he's better than the peated version.
although i find it decent, i prefer for the same price range a deveron 10 and classic 12yo like glenfiddich

I really worry about which point the scotch industry will level out. The jump in some bottles is astronomical. I am stocking up on sale-priced whiskies, so I should be shielded for a few years at least!

Not a bottle I would buy again for what it delivers on its own, then I found it rather bland. But then again, for 20 euro's you cant really complain for a single malt with a 10 year age statement. Once I was half way down the bottle it put some Caol Ila cask strength in it and it really worked wonders for it and for that blend alone, I would buy it again. I think you can work with this whisky to create something superior than this pretty easy to create a cheaper solution to high priced single malts.

Agree this one is definitely a 'value first' whisky, but with prices set to go into orbit over the next year we may be more reliant on these releases than we'd like.

Hi guys… as it is a Grants bottling, a budget, a very good one, have you compared it to the Glenfiddich 12 ? Just a thought .

The Glenfiddich 12 is a more elegant, complete and ultimately better whisky. But it's also significantly more expensive.

Personally I love sea cask,Land cask I absolutely don't like at all! it just tastes like bandaids to me.
