In this video I am checking out this brand new 2022 Jeep Renegade Latitude to see if it is a better SUV than Kia Soul.

To compare these two to one another is like comparing a apple to a orange. The 2023 Jeep Renegade has 4 models all with 4x4 and the Kia Soul doesn't even offer AWD. The only similarity is they both have a boxy appearance. We own a 2018 Renegade Latitude and it has been a very welcome addition to our family it hasn't had any issues whatsoever in the 5 years of ownership, it did have 1 recall for the 2.4l oil consumption issue but ours doesn't seem to be affected by this issue. For the 2023 Model Year all Renegades are standard 1.3l Turbo 177hp/210 lb ft of torque with 4x4 Standard across the Board and it has been narrowed down to just 4 sub models, Latitude,Altitude,Red and the TrailHawk. KIA Soul for 2023 is down to 4 Models LX,S,GT and EX all equipped with a 2.0L 147hp/132 lb ft of Torque even the larger Seltos is equipped with the same powertrain and no AWD for that model either. The KIA's do have a price advantage over the Jeep Renegade. Safety is a wash between the two. Fuel Economy the Soul wins hands down. Best our Jeep has achieved is 29 mpg on a 1500 mile trip from Texas to New Mexico and back. 0-60 times for the Jeep are 8.45 seconds whereas the Kia Soul is 8.0 seconds but then again weight is the major factor where the Jeep Renegade weigh appr. 3200-3500 lbs depending on model. The Kia are 2844 lbs. Towing for both the Renegade and Soul are 2000lbs but with 147hp Soul that would be a really a scary proposition. Plus the Renegade has a 9spd transmission whereas the Soul is CVT only.
Thank you for that info. Yes there are many differences between the two but they are competing in the same market segment. Its unfortunate that Soul is not available with AWD but for many in the south its not an issue. In my opinion it drives better on the road, has as much room inside if not more and it is thousands of dollars less expensive than the Renegade. Btw i did enjoy the Renegade as well.

Renegade way better than the Soul. Review seems a bit biased.
Of course its biased! But its only skewed by my opinion, nothing else. I dont work for either and i font own any of these vehicles. But I do believe that Kia Soul brings more value for the money. Have you driven both?

It's based on a Fiat. Kia Soul is slightly better, but not much.

VW Taos is better.
I liked Taos, i know its close in size, but i was aiming at the shape. Renegade would not be my first choice. For the money i would go with the Soul Turbo.

A poor review. I suggest that you go to a Jeep dealership and get them to show you what a Renegade is designed to do on and off the road....
So its better off road, never said it wasnt but 95% of its buyers will never leave pavement.
