Very useful video for us “city EV” owners. My Mazda Presents similar challenges. I like your Mini more than the new longer range one. I think it’s better looking and nicer inside.

@@simplygregsterev I should clarify that I haven’t seen one yet either. My opinion comes from RUclips content which shows what it looks like inside and out. To me the interior of the new one looks cheap and has less switches and relies on the touch screen too much. There’s no instrument panel either which is a negative to me. Outside looks is purely subjective and your car is better looking to me. My Mazda dealer showed me a lightly used 23 Mini EV identical to yours. It was priced higher than the new Mazda. I was close buying the Mini.

@@deanbaggs the quality on my car is spectacular. From the touch and feel to thr
Materials used. The new gas model and new EV are similar for interior. I dont mind the large screen but still prefer physical buttons or knobs for HVAC etc. More intuitive

Sigh. Drove Model Y LR over 1000km over last weekend, went from Ottawa to Syracuse and Ithaca and back. A week ago went to Toronto and back on the same day.

@@simplygregsterev It's definitely better than in Ontario but not perfect. For example I've been dealing with limited charging options in some parts of QC like Chertsey where the cottage we rented only had 120v plug and it's not doing much when you need to charge at -25C. Even those old 50kW CE chargers are not really everywhere.

I have an Ioniq 28, the efficiency is alot better can get up to 200kms on the country roads, but I share your frustration with the small battery, going to upgrade to a MG4 77 early next year.

The battery does not bother me it was more the lack of charging in the area. Going 15-20 mins out of your way is annoying . If MG4 was sold here Id have one!

After watching "What a car" comparison of the new petrol Mini vs EV Mini you channel came up. Nice drive, very annoying charging, in ICE fan and can't understan all the hassle people put with EV's. For city driving and if tou can charge at home is no brainer, but dude, my previous car Honda Jazz managed 500km+ per fuel tank. Its painful to watxh/listen how on your Saturday journey you have to hop from one dealer to another for searching of a charge.
P.S. now i drive diesel estate with 1000km+ per fuel tank and it feels amazing.
The new EV mini here in the UK is made in Chin by Great Wall, rebagged as Mini and cost £40 000, thats insane. Skoda Octavia VRS e £35K
Plus from next year EV will start paying taxes, all vehicles over £40K pay luxury tax for the first 5 years Adding depreciation, expensive public charging and higher insurance makes EV's very unattractive. Cheers for the nice video.

@@Dolph681 Thanks for the watch. Where I live charging isnt a problem you can charge anywhere and everywhere. 220km away in another provincial and the Capital of Canada its a nightmare. @@simplygregsterev enjoy your trip mate here(UK) mate, public charging is very very expensive in the UK and prices keep going up. If you watch the video of the Mini review you will see that the host charged at £0.85 per KW, that's idiotic, it's the equivalent of $1.54 CAD per kilowatt. If the EV suits you better for your needs go for it, in Canada anything different than Tesla seems pain in the butt for longer trips.

@@simplygregsterev the most expensive is Instavolt, crazy prices. My closest charger if I had an EV would be BP Pulse, standard price is £0.80 per KW, with membership card £0.65. I live in a flat, so EV is out of the question for now. At the moment diesel is £1,37 per litre where I live, £75-£80 for full tank, which is minimum 1000km. I usually get 1100km.
