It is never easy to make difficult BUT important decisions. Ultimately, veterinarians do this for their love and passion for animals. I can assure you, people don't join SPCA for the money. 😂😂😂
Thank u for the hard work...I'm an independent rescuer in my small hometown, seeing dying animals outside it ia very hard to see and when I'm watching this, about making decision for the sick pets or animals,I,immediately knew the feeling, tough decision,always... For the black cat, I have a black cat but Bengi passed away3 years ago from disease and after that I dun have a black cat but blessed me that GOD gave me two again this year, I adopted em from the market and they now live with me and my other rescued cats... For all Vets, keep on spirit, for all animal lover keep on spirit, for rescuers keep fighting..
I can imagine the pain having to put the animals down 😔 😢😢,as we've no choice to do just that 7 yrs ago when our pet Cocker Spaniel had cancer and was blind 😢 💔.
If you cant help them in a different way they shouldn't be killed... period you don't have that right even if the government said it's ok they are wrong... and you know it.💯
Cancer can be treatable though, doesn’t mean it’s a straight death sentence. So all animals w cancer is immediately put down in spca? So it’s more of a “we’ve no money for cancer treatment so let’s put you down?”
Cancer treatments are very hard on the body and while remission can be possible, it’s not guaranteed, especially when it comes to cats/dogs. You have to consider the age of the animal, what kind of cancer it is, and how far progressed it is (aka has it metastasized). With treating cancer, you have to ask yourself if it’s ethical for the patient or are you just going to put them through unnecessary suffering. Most times when it comes to cats and dogs with cancer it’s the latter unfortunately. You’re not going to put an 11 yr old dog with metastatic tumors in their lungs through rounds of chemo. Euthanasia at least alleviates the suffering they’re already going through. Not to mention chemotherapy and radiation to treat cancer is very expensive and unless the doctor deems it beneficial to the patient(which is a very very slim chance) and others are willing to donate to treatment, a humane society is just not going to or able to pay for that.
It usually is when it gets to a humane society, many community animals and strays that come in are very progressed in their diseases, as there is less close contact to monitor early signs like pooping/eating habits.
@@sierratorres4695 yes yes you went a whole round to answer that question. So ultimately, they’d put down a young animal with curable cancer because of money. They run through donations, I’m sure if needed many would be glad to donate but no, they prefer the easy way out. If we’d do that to humans instead, how unethical and what an uproar it’ll cause
Thank you for saving the animals. May God Bless all of you strength and good faith.. So touching for all your kindness in this animal charity. Cheers..
In Germany vets in general receive pretty poor salaries compared to human doctors... and the vet techs as well. Treatment costs have been on the rise for a while now, in order to raise salaries to a more acceptable standart. It's still pretty cheap compared to the US, though. People still complain we're only after their money and we don't love animals, we only love money and bs like that. They assume we're on the same payroll as staff for human medicine, which is just not true, but it's useless trying to argue. Especially big clinics with emergency care around the clock have a big problem finding staff and paying said staff for their 24h services. The only thing you ever hear from ownres who ended up in the animal ER at 2am is complains that it was so expensive... Like... the staff that's caring for your pet needs to get payed for their work, lady. Why are you complaining? Would you rather not have that service and see your pet die without any help? It's so frustrating...
Yes I believe so too. I think it truly depends on which shelter you run into and what vet you run into. She seems like one of the good ones but some vets give up SO quickly if the case is just the slightest difficult for them, it’s terrible. I’m currently volunteering at an animal shelter, hopefully one day I can become a vet too. 🥰
the way she said "puppies!" I fell in love. Thank you for taking care of every one of these precious souls ❤

love it please make another 500x series on pets and vets can't have enough of it. SO EMOTIONAL!
Salute those who serve at SPCA. Never a glamorous job nor does it pay well. Yet the commitment is ever so present.
Thank you for wearing your heart on your sleeve ❤❤

Yay Vets! Thank you for your compassion! I love animals even though I don't have one...

Thank you for sharing. At least I know SPCA don't give up lives...

They still do it sometimes because she didn't say they never give up lives.
South African SPCA may euthanise dogs if they don't have any space.
spca puts down 1000+ dogs a year. Pretty sure not all of them is terminally ill.
:)
