You're a good teacher Antonio. I'm a native English speaker taken speaking it for granted. Never heard anyone break things down the way you have. I enjoy it.
As a Native English Speaking Canadian, I think Antonio is amazing! Sometimes, as in Antonio's case, those who have learned a language to proficiency are able to teach others what they learned and how they learned what they learned to get to their levels. As a Native speaker I never even considered those things as deeply, as it is just my native language and I am used to it... even if in the word cu"t"e .. the T is never really said... I guess native speakers just know the word ends with the T and is written with a T so our brain just imagines the "T" as automatically being there..... and when someone uses a different accent or pronunciation we just hear it as being off or different but don't really know why.
@@YanaSarkar so at this point the T sound is pronounced, but stopped this happen when the T sound Is close two vowels especially when the last vowels Is lazy like a schwa or ih sound in "sit" , for a native speaker will be natural doing this .

This is so beautifully explained! I am from California but I have a degree in opera singing, so I’ve had to take a lot of diction classes. It’s interesting to look back and see how studying diction has changed my own accent. For example, I’ve had friends tease me for “over pronouncing” sounds that most people with my dialect would glide over (mostly T’s) and my vowels are more succinct without strong diphthongs. Diction is cool! You’re doing great work :)

I agree with your last message. ESL learners are not obligated to imitate American accent just to become a great English speaker. It's not all about that. Just like my English teacher said before, your grammar, fluency, and articulation is far more important than the accent alone. As long as you're understood by the person you're conversing with, you're good to go. 💗

You're a really great teacher brother. I can learn more easily with you than I do with others whose teaching videos I've beening watching for some months, only because of your amazing capability to make complicated things so nice and lucid and easy to grab. I am from Calcutta in India and I studied in school and college in my vernacular language i.e Bengali. So whatever English I have learned I mostly did on my own efforts. And because there hadn't been any teacher to correct me there remained many lacunas in my learnings . Some are grammatical and other are spoken/colloqualism and phonetics related. The former type of error seemed easier to correct with the help of books but the latter are the things where I seem to be stuck for ever. And because of this I can't understand English movies or songs or complicated discussion on TVs etc. which I so so desire to understand. And this is where you and other teachers are coming to my help a great deal. So thank you so very much ang God bless you.
I love your classes, and I love even more when you make me feel so good in my poor knowledge of speaking English. I'm sure your students love you like I love you right now. Dear teacher ❤️. Greeting 🥰🇵🇪.

My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. @@robertgessner8846 yes, I heard the other video as well. Not sure where you got the idea I am not a native speaker but I am. Just love listening to his videos. He does a wonderful job.
I'm still astonished about your English proficiency, considering you haven't (as far as I know) moved to an English speaking country in your early ages. I have two theories about that: the first one is your toponymic family name (Parlati), [who is eager and pleasant to talk], and the second, your good ear for music. After been an adult person who has been learning English as a second language, I can say that your case is pretty unique.
I think he mentioned in one of his videos that he learned English when he was 11 and he used to watch American TV shows and movies and imitate the sounds of the accent. I know someone who did the same thing when he was 12 but he did it with British accent and now he speaks English like a British person. But as an adult, it’s almost impossible to be able to speak like a native, and there is no need to do that. By the way, I think he is an amazing teacher

I have a New York accent & I personally like hearing English in foreign accents. I know others make fun of our American accent when we learn a different language... but maybe bc we have so many different nationalities in our country, a lot of us like the sounds of their accents more than our own. A lot of Americans feel that way, so don’t be ashamed of your accent & don’t beat yourself up over trying to change it! We love it over here!
@@ladybird1463 > Where’s your accent from? Don’t be embarrassed! I understand your English perfectly, and even if I couldn’t understand it (I know quite a few ppl here who I can barely understand, but bc we all grew up with so many different kinds of ethnicities it’s super normal to us. The term “bad English” isn’t really a “thing” here). I was just swooning over a woman with a THICK Colombian accent at my job. And I remember for the longest time, having a guy with an accent was on my “must-have” list... which resulted in me dating guys from Russia & Guatemala, who could barely speak a LICK of English - but I LOVED it 😂😂😂 Guys here are the same way when foreign women have an accent. So no worries! If you need some inspiration, look up videos of a Japanese baseball player named Munenori Kawasaki speaking. He came over here to play, but couldn’t speak nearly any English. But what ended up making him the fan favorite was how confident he was still. We found it so endearing - everyone wanted to hear him, he was the star of the show. A lot of us honestly didn’t even want him to better his English lol We loved him exactly how he was. So yea, don’t be ashamed! Your accent is simply telling the story of who you are/where you’re from, not how good your English is. It’s what makes you unique & what makes us jealous when you’re stealing up all the men lol

you are such a great teacher! american english is my first language and i still learned so much. and I really appreciate how you said that these linguistic phenomenons are not about being educated or lazy. To be honest, I always beat myself up when I catch myself speaking too "relaxed", and maybe I shouldn't stress about it. Thank you for the great lesson!!
Thank you Antonio for sharing this video. I've understood and practised everything that you said. Greetings from Argentina..
I really appreciate your closing words. I work under a call center and I experience a lot of customers who bashes or mock me when they notice that I'm not a native speaker. And that's one of the main reasons why I started watching videos like this to at least improve my accent. Cause even if I try not to mind it, their words really echoes especially when I'm about to sleep at night :'). Thank you for sharing your knowledge and words of wisdom haha 😉
Lmao I hate that shit when you’re going to bed. My brain becomes a cringe memory generator
You're a great teacher. Thank you.
Omg I LOVE LISTENING TO YOUR VOICE it’s so soothing ❤
What a great vibe with a clear explanation.
Thanks ❤
I loved finding your channel and you are so on point! I grew up with American mid west accent, moved to Boston for 25 yrs, now live in Atlanta. I am now so accent confused, no one understands me. Keep up the great work!😃
That's great. Mixing the accents makes you unique!
I have my native language's accents all mixed up too due to moving
I really enjoyed listening to your video and perhaps learning a lot. I think what you said about that we shouldn't be ashamed of our native accent it's very important for us to know..

Your videos are interestingly informative. Kudos to you!
I love your classes, and I love even more when you make me feel so good in my poor knowledge of speaking English. I'm sure your students love you like I love you right now. Dear teacher ❤️. Greeting 🥰🇵🇪.
Awesome...it is so great to find this kind of videos where the accent is involved
Yo hablo español y atrapar ese acento es mi meta tambien🤩...thank you for everything
Great Job Antonia. Clarity to the core and clears all confusion in the pronounciation of different words. Well explained the subtle differences and a great trainer to learn from.
Get some glasses.
Antonio
Hats off to your final remark! You rock, Antonio, your lessons are amazing, keep at it!
Excellent!! so many tips condensed in a single video. Thank you Antonio.
These are really helpful tips! Thank you ❤️ been trying to find effective ways on how to improve accent (for my French students). Also, love the way you articulate words ❤️
Amazing content! I've been learning and speaking English since I was 4, and now learning with you was so much fun!

Amazing! I loved learning these tips in a easier way. They're very useful... Thanks Antonio! 😀 💗

You are great at explaining, I speak fluent English now but this is a fantastic video for those learning!!
Me encanta tu forma de enseñar. Lo explicas todo despacio, muy claro y conciso.
Realmente estás haciendo un gran trabajo. Muchas gracias
Si yo también pienso lo mismo. En síntesis se puede decir "Italians do it better" 😁🇮🇹
It is always a struggle for me to teach letter R to Koreans. I hope you could post more lessons about teaching R or R blends for Koreans or Japanese. TIA!
Awesome teacher! Thanks 🙏🏻
so beautiful! and the course is excellent, thank you
You have a smart and easy way to teach especially the encouraging conclusion it was really real thank you
My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign
language and wants to realize their full potential!
Sharing your knowledge ,so good & hearty.

Hello. I'm from India 🇮🇳
I follow your sessions and that's very helpful me for understand English.
Can you please make videos on english literature, like some terms or forms.
Hey I’m from the uk and I have a pretty strong British accent and there’s been I few times when I’ve needed to sound more American(mainly in voice acting) and this helps a lot,
Would 100% recommend this video to people who want to sound more American
shurly
I am American and have no problem with English but I love your videos. You are very articulate in your explanations. I am also from the South but most think I have a Midwestern accent like someone from Chicago.
I really loved your pronunciation .it help me to open my mind and be all ears with your explanation.that cheers me up
Your videos are really helpful. I've learned a lot of lessons, basically on correct and proper pronunciation of both unfamiliar & familiar words which I already encountered & used but need to be corrected. I am a Filipino & I do appreciate your work. Thanks. More power!
Antonio, this is my second visit to your great channel. Again, this particular video is excellent for me, you pointed out again the core differences between the British and American accents. Great job. Congrats, I'm beginning to like you and your video tutoring!
I love learning the american native pronounciation although here in most part of the philippines it looks like doing it in a very articulate way..!
The important thing you mentioned at the end made me love you so much. It tears me up. As an Asian, it is challenging to pronounce certain words as we do not have R or L in our native language. I got a lot laughed at when trying to say certain words. Thank you. You are more than an English teacher. You are such a kind human being ❤.
:( I'm sorry that happens to you. People are really mean when it comes to accents or pronunciation for some reason.
I feel embarrassed trying to speak any form of Chinese because i suck at making the tonal inflections correctly and I feel ashamed, lol. It's difficult to speak multiple languages and I hope you're proud of yourself!!
@@aprilmeowmeow Thank you for your kindness. Having no control of some people's negativity, but it motivated me to learn and try harder. That's why we met here:). It means a lot to me. Love!
It's the video I wanted to see. Thank you Antonio. You have given all the tips we need. 🙏🌸❤️
THIS IS SO HARD THANKYOU SO MUCH
I’ve grown up in Australia, but I’m American born, since my mid teens my accent has been quite mixed between the two and been trying to make it more American, this video will definitely help
As an American myself, this was very interesting and informative. Thanks for all the details!! For myself I do usually pronouns my t’s after n’s (like in internet). Sometimes I also pronounce those silent t’s (like in cute). I guess it just depends how fast or informal I’m talking.
Pronounce, not pronouns, but that's fine. Spelling is certainly easier for us Italians.
So as a native does he have an accent or does he sound 100% native
Loved everything about this video! So useful, so many tips, and explanations all included in one video!
Hands down the best pronunciation video❤❤❤
Wow, I did three years of linguistics at uni and I couldn't get my head around phonetics but you make it sound so interesting and fun to learn!
Hi, Antonio! I’m learning English because I’ll begin a degree in two months. Crazy, right? I can’t believe that you are Italian! Your accent in English is like a native! And in Spanish (my language) are great, perfect! Your Mexican accent está muy chido, wey! Anyway you inspired me! Un abbracio!

Porq hay sonidos q ni siquiera existen en español. Muuuuchas gracias porq cada vez q veo tus videos aclaro dudas y refuerzo lo q sé...
Great classes Antonio. Living in the US for over 30 years I learned to love and embrace my latin accent.
I really love your videos. You are such a great teacher!!
You speak very clear and detailed, that's helpful for me. ❤❤
Hi! Could you please make a video of how to have an American intonation? I would really appreciate it! Your videos help me a lot to improve my English. Thank you so much!!
Love your videos. One comoent on this one.. you said cha-RAC-teristic. The stress/emphasis should be on the first sylable..CHA-rac-teristic. Keep up the great work!
Antonio is terrific and so talented. As a native speaker, I picked up the same thing though with your pronunciation of the word characteristic. I heard this mispronunciation on two videos. That being said, I was surprised that you aren't a native speaker of American English.
@@robertgessner8846 yes, I heard the other video as well. Not sure where you got the idea I am not a native speaker but I am. Just love listening to his videos. He does a wonderful job.
Character-IS-tic
@@englishwithmiranda Yeah, that would be pretty weird if someone placed the emphasis on that first syllable. 😁 It's indisputably on the "IS."
Antonio, you’re not just a good English teacher but also have a sense of humor! 💙
You’re the best and you don’t confused your audience❣️You make it very simple. 🙏🏾
@@hellophoenix why is it almost impossible?
@@em4001 it’s really not. Just emulate how they talk , you’ll see the difference:)
"That kiTTen is so cuTe".
I'm saying it incorrectly and I've lived in the USA for my entire life. I do pronounce a soft T.
When I recently saw a couple of shorts you made, I had NO idea you were teaching English. So my comments were quite bizarre. Forgive me.
I truly enjoy your concise warm manner in which you teach.
It's a pleasure watching and listening to you!
Your not pronouncing it wrong, pronunciations vary from place to place. I pronounce t's too
You're the most well detailed english tutor here on youtube.❤
Wow , you're the best English teacher I've ever seen and heard, love your vids a lot .
Antonio can you make episode about how to learn two languages at same time
How you learn french
And thanks for your effort 😊
I have a New York accent & I personally like hearing English in foreign accents. I know others make fun of our American accent when we learn a different language... but maybe bc we have so many different nationalities in our country, a lot of us like the sounds of their accents more than our own. A lot of Americans feel that way, so don’t be ashamed of your accent & don’t beat yourself up over trying to change it! We love it over here!
My God, this is so ispiring and needed, I am very embarassed when I speak English, I am so ashamed of my accent ... thank you for these words
@@hey.its.kenners Thank you so much!!!!!!!! Your words are sun rayes for me!!!Thanks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
