Your doing exactly what all car guys love. Just putting money in your car with what you can afford, you wrenching on it in your garage, your hands on, your enjoying it and the reward is to drive it and go faster. Your not focused on being fasted and your just living happy. These electric car guys don’t understand this lifestyle.
GREAT job.... those TBS SC's not only look good, not only sound good, but i'm seeing people getting real power results too i'm envious and thinking about swapping to that.... i like the low profile and sound, not to mention they seem to be making power too great job, keep it up put in a Roletk T10 and really enjoy that car.....
I really enjoyed your video. Sometimes going with a bigger engine doesn’t mean that you will get outrun. In high school I had a 69 vette with a 327 small journal bored 60 10:1 cut the deck 20 Holley 650 double pumper 4 speed 3:73 gears. I raced a friend of mine that had a 68 Camaro 383 stroker powerglide with 5:14 gears. He beat me by a half of a car length. He beat me but my clutch was hot and this was he’s first race of the night. Not making any excuses but I wished I could’ve raced him earlier that night. This was in the 80’s and we were just talking about this race 6 months ago. Keep the videos coming!!
Keep going …… great car look forward to more videos. Nice tech info .maybe keep your videos short like just on your diff upgrade where when how much who adjustments made etc etc.

The cam isn’t very aggressive and is an off the shelf Comp Cam. It was recommended for my set up but I didn’t have clearing the rods in mind at all actually!
Absolutely! I’m totally transparent. After machining and then assembling the motor myself I’m into the motor around $10K including the blower. The transmission and converter was about $4,500 to build though a shop!
@@PLANBRACING how much boost are you running on the motor? Do you know the jetting on your carburetor and if you are running any power valves in the front?
No vacuum advance, we’re using mechanical advance. Running about 6psi of boost we have the initial timing set at 12 degrees and it advances to 30 degrees.
@@PLANBRACING I have nearly the same set up. All forged, same blower cam.Only my heads are old. My initial is 26 degrees, my total is 34 degrees.. Very good car and very nice video..
I just started following your videos. Good job! My question is what gear ratio did you go to? I see that your transmission is super clean. Do you know what gasket you're running on the pan?
not sure how many have even any funds for a low budget build I'm old and and no debts and can only squeeze out about $100 a month. it would take me 50.years to build that same setup
Understood for sure. All depends on how badly you want it. I certainly don’t have endless funds and had to buckle down and budget, sell some things, and even pick up any side work I could to have some extra cash. Finding a smoking deal on the Nova itself when it was a roller definitely helped.
That's the sad reality of this shit. You better be pretty well off to get into hotrods. There's really no such thing as "low buck" race cars anymore. Just expensive ones and more expensive ones. This shit keeps me broke. If I hadn't collected a shitload of engines, cars and parts over the past 40yrs, I wouldn't even try to get into this shit these days.
VERY VERY nice car but with all the mods you have on it we figured it would have a 5:88 gear ratio or something of the sort not 4:11's. With all due respect I know its your car & maybe you got your reasons. Take care and thanks for sharing the video with us.
Thanks man! I was mistaken in the video. It actually has a 4:30 gear ratio because everywhere I run is 1/4 mile, not 1/8th. That was a ratio that was spec’d with Strange when I gave them my setup

Will do, thank you sir!
Very nice car! Put you a big block 454 in it with a turbo and you will go down into the 9s! Good luck brother!
I’d love too one day! Thanks man.
Put a 427 and then you have the best engine Chevy ever made!
Turbocharged bigblock only running 9s would suck. 8s would be more realistic goal. I've ran low 9s with a NA 509ci BB Chevy 30yrs ago.
NHRA legal "Stock" Eliminator class 68 Camaros run mid to low 10s with Q-jets on 350 SBCs.

You got that right 😂

Went to a 4.30 gear ratio! I could double check with my transmission guy but I believe it’s a stock felpro gasket!
Nice build!
Thank you!
What engine block did you use, stock or aftermarket?
Stock 010 block!
Sounds great. Any chance that car could be made street legal?
Definitely! I have the vin number registered. Would need some DOT tires and a horn basically!
Hey Brandon, what gear do you run? What size are your tires? I'm still waiting to see a huge burn out! Ha
31x14-15 tires with 4.30 gears!
What throttle cable bracket is that?
I don’t have that same one on it now but I believe this was a Summit brand bracket. Part number SUM-210235
What transmission are you using?
Turbo 400!

At the time of this video the car was probably making around 500hp. I’ve recently switched to E85 and am probably making around 600ish now!
