Man you are lucky, that black mower with the tecumseh formula engine is a lucky find, a common problem on them engines is the ring gear on the flywheel comes off and you are very lucky to have a good one
Oh I was unaware of that! Although I think there was something wrong with it, it always surged, I bought a new carb for it, still surged, I put a known good Kohler carb on it and removed the governor then it ran semi sorta ok but not really usable without the governor. Not to mention it kept popping out of the intake and backfiring l at idle speed

And that engine on that murray tractor in my video was not stock that murray tractor in my video was engine swapped by my dad with a briggs quantum engine from a push mower probly about 4hp however, the factory engines where still different if you're friends tractor came stock with that 12 hp OHV tecumseh engine because that murray tractor in my video came stock with a briggs van guard engine

Yeah man Oddly enough we used to drive the tractors around the yard just for fun. even without the mower deck on so when my dad found one without an engine, he adapted that 4 horse to fit it. Only problem is it needed a blade to act as a flywheel so he had to weld a 10 pound weight to the crank shaft
Yes! I always make sure to check oil In a quantum motor because of how bad they burn/leak it... I'm not sure about mouse nests though I've never really had a problem with them 🤔
It’s custom built by my dad lol. He built it just to ride around when me and my brother were kids and it was never intended to be able to cut grass again so he just slapped a push mower engine on it
Yeah but the red one's wire harness was gone, it was just battery to ignition switch to solenoid. But I did hold the clutch in on the black tractor because it's factory wire harness still works
Well the black tecumseh did have an air filter and the murray tractor did have no air filter and the reason I'm fine with that is because the engine is a quantum Wich is super common to find in the trash and it's also one of the worst lawn mower engines today and also I thought it was normal for tractors to be outside

It was either electric contact cleaner or maf sensor cleaner
Probably not good to put on terminals however it did improve the contact

I runn all my engines with no air filters and they never blow up
