I agree with you that using the trolling motor is the way to go. The trolling motor will be on while you’re using LiveScope,so to me it should be calibrated while it’s on.

When I calibrate my Garmin, I use my Ultrex 80lb thrust on 10 which of course is wide open and I get a 98 on the environment and a 99 on turn, so maybe you should try turning your Force on high and get a better reading….idk 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@The_Garmin_Guru Just an idea, even if you don't do it, it's worth mentioning. I'm building a portable shuttle, not for ice fishing but one I can use on different boats and also use on my dock so doing the hand calibration is how I plan to get started. The turning circumference with the outboard was much large that the trolling motors. Could that make the difference?

I believe so. I turned as sharp as the motor would allow.

Had issues trying to calibrate my livescope yesterday. Tried it with the trolling moto and outboard. Spin was good but the magnetic environment was at %17. Maybe because its mounted on my terranova trolling motor barrel. Never had issues with it before when I had it on the minnkota edge.

With Minn Kota it’s best to turn motor off completely

Yeah I turned it off and unplugged my uhd93 transducer that is also mounted on the trolling motor barrel.

Mr Garmin guy. I was recommended to reach out to you by Chris at a sleep at the real to see if you could help me out. I have a 93 SV UHD Garmin and did the calibration with high percentage. But when all was done the little boat indicator popped up on top right of screen and showed the beam opposite direction of where I was pointing my life scope. So if I was facing true north the beam would be facing true South. Thank you for any help.

Thanks so much loving the channel. Got the force and two 93 sv. Just got the new 34 live scope haven’t even got to go to the lake yet. Got to save a little before I get it off the trolling motor shaft. Thank for all the information save me tons of trouble kept me fishing and not frustrated.

Does the LS calibration have to be redone when changing chart plotters or does it stay with the black box?

I try calibrating my LS today, using the trolley motor and it fail ( magnetic 5% spin 90%) I even try the main motor and still fail, same result, what u think it could be?
