I played with the settings quite a bit this week on my ECHOMAP Ultra with v19.20. My best settings were Gain at 68% (from GG) and a low Color Limit (0-20). I varied the Color Gain to get jig to "pop" depending on the water conditions and depth. We recently had a lot of rain and the north end of the lake (Lavon in DFW Metro) had really muddy water in 10-12'. I never found decent settings that did not have lots noise in this scenario (muddy water at 10-12'). I really appreciate you taking the time to do the research & report. I'm a newbie to LiveScope; your vids have really helped me dial in the settings!
Dialed in! I'm not a fan of color limit for what it does to the presentation im using. Being able to see and track my lure is # 1 priority vs having a clearer screen and not being able to see the lure. 👍
mine is the best its been in a while. yesterday in stained water i was able to run color limit on 45 and gain in the low to mid 70's with zero clutter. in 5 ft of water i turned gain down to 67 with no clutter but i do run noise rej on med to high all the time and tvg low it seemed to be a little clearer of and image too
You came to the same conclusion that I did in my video on 20.00. My exact words I think were '" I honestly don't see much difference with color limit". So I went back to zero. We all know what happens if you jack it up too high. Man I am just happy to have my LS back.
With the new update I found I can see clearly 80ft out. Your depth and forward play a huge part in clarity. In 12 foot of water I would have set my depth to 40 foot and 80 feet out.
If you have watched any of my latest videos I’m big on extending range and depth to get a better pic due to the transducer being a chirp style transducer. Don’t do that near as much when crappie fishing
I fish a lot of deeper water from 20-40ft that would be awesome if you could do one for that range as well. My bait keeps popping in and out. Thanks man great video I'm going to try this out!!
I did the update Friday after watching your video's and I was not happy with it at all I spent all day Saturday trying to dial it in could see some fish but could never see my bait at all I had my gain at 68 and played with color limit between 0 and 40 also color gain between 80 and 100 couldn't pick up my bait at all Sunday I actually cranked up the color limit to 55 and gain down to 62 and finally could see my lure and managed to catch some fish off of trees and brush piles
Thanks for the research, good information on color limit, waiting for color gain video, and another new update from Garmin if there replacing 20.0 for ecomaps, and 27.1 for gpsmaps note: do you mess with the noise reject and tvg settings? stay safe and FISH-ON MICK N FL. Just a question on transducer mounting if you don’t mind. I have a pole mount set up with a 0 degree mount. I’ve read some articles that the tilted mount (8 degree maybe) helps with the picture and more so the ghost tree. Do you have any data on that either way??? Thanks a bunch!!
Great Comparison! I fish for Zander (walleye) and I always have trouble finding my bait close to the bottom. Sometimes you get very strong returns from the bottom (rock) and my jig kind of disappears into that ‘bed of flames 🔥’ if you know what I mean. Can you do a test on getting better seperation between bottom and jig when fishing very close to the bottom? Thx 🙏 Really would help me because I’m constantly changing my settings now.
question. I have a garmin 126sv and i dan”t find the color limit setting in the system. I was wondering if the 126sv has the COLOR LIMIT system/ or is that a livescope setting that comes with certain units.?
Thanks for all the time you spend on the water just to help us out
I enjoy it for sure.

That’s why I tune mine off lately. I don’t mind the small amount of fuzz.

Nicely done, I’ve had to mess with mine several times to get the right setting for the fishing I’m doing. Thank you for sharing

Looks like you got it I’ll have to try it on the water thanks
Brother i work hard to make sure when I put something out that it’s a good adjustment to try

Just came out a few minutes ago
That down load is still 27.10 gpsmaps and 20.00 ecomaps, not anything new, since the shut down of the server,?😕
Good show, ky
Thanks Lonnie
Keep it up Brother!
I will do. Thank you for watching.

I’ve tested it and I can see a little difference but with the new updates I never tilt mine anymore.
Thanks for the great videos. What level of "color gain" do you use/recommend for the latest software?
Check out todays video.

Ok let me figure out how to do the test on that
I'm still wondering if I should update my unit.
Update
Is there any way to connect a portable monitor say a tablet for an additional monitor say on the opposite end of your boat as your main head unit?
There is I have a video on that bud. Pretty cool

Like your videos real informative but you need to work on your audio cannot hear you good
Nobody has complained on this video before. I’ll work on it bud.
What is this with an LVS 34 or 32?
32 brother. Looks
Pretty good don’t you think. Still waiting on my 34
Garmin told me they took the update down because of glitch. Is that true.
I haven’t heard that at all. Ours has been money
Really like this newest update, best target separation I’ve had so far. Crappie glow down in a pile now, where before they had to move to be sure.
