Garmin Livescope Color Limit Update! I Gotta Eat Some Crow For Sure. It Looks Pretty Good After All

- Part 1 Settings. part 2 is what I’ve learned from Garmin concerning some problems with the update. I cannot take all the credit for these settings. I took a little from a lot of peoples advice and come up with what I believe is the best place to start.
Thanks for taking the time digging into the new update. I’ve got the 1222, I’ll be interested to see how it looks on the water.
I hope it works for you bud.
This helps a bunch man. My settings are close to yours but running color gain higher. Got to do some more tweaking. If I can get my picture like yours, I'll be happy. Looks good, thanks for the great info!
Thank you for watching bud.
Will have to try that. The settings I am running are pretty much the same as yours that you just mentioned with the exception of the color limit. “The Void” is still my major issue.
I found out that when you noise control completely off I didn’t have any voids. I’m using the color limit to control noise instead of noise control. It’s not perfect but better
Not to be negative but that structure and the fish in it is my biggest issue now and I still say there's No Target Separation..... Before the update I could see the individual limbs and the fish popped and I could target the fish I want......I couldn't do that with the the way your screen shows...... There's ZERO target separation on structure on the bottom...... My opinion.....
I understand they are saying that not everyone is getting affected the same. And in they brush pile on my video you won’t see many limbs it’s as thick as hair on a dogs back. I put that nasty joker out. Lol. It’s definitely not perfect but it’s all we got until they give us the short update.
@@The_Garmin_Guru Me being a guide I've had to put several hours into getting the best that I can put off this unit..... This update has definitely made job harder as I have to pass over several fish that I would be able to see and catch pre-update.....I look for the revised update daily sometimes twice a day.....LOL
I pretty much did what you did on my unit. I turned everything off and started adjusting one setting at a time then readjusting settings as I added other settings. (Ghost tree off/Color limit off/noise reject low) Gain 65-70 Color gain 40-45 (Really muddy water)
Still having trouble seeing a 1/16 jig at 40-50ft out
The best way I’ve found to make adjustments is with a bobber and suspend the bait below it and start making adjustments until
You can see it like you want it.
Another great video brother! Keep them coming
Tomorrows video is gonna show how to force update your unit to ensure your update is the best quality it can be
I told you buddy you just might turn around your opinion might just change back to really liking it. The guys at bass tank really love it.
Yea I talk to them a lot. They gave me some insight. But just for you I said I would eat a big bowl of crow. Lol. Thanks for watching bud.
@Garmin Guru lol... no need to we are all learning. I wish I knew half as much as you do. The fishing I got down 100% the catching I got down 50% the electronics I got down 10%
Lol... but your first gut instinct was that you loved the update so I went with that one
Great info thank you
Thanks for putting the video out. I have one question since you seem to be the only one on top of this new update. What happened to the boat icon that showed the beam of your transducer in relation to the boat. I tried every way you can to get it back now it's wack.
That got changed a few updates ago. It was never accurate with me. Now it’s based on a compass rose
Maybe when you're in contact with Garmin you can ask them about that issue also. Let us have the old boat icon back period at present it is 180° off from where the transducer is pointing.
One thing you can change that might be affecting it. There are two settings. One where the compass rose and beam are set on north up and the other where the heading is up. Does that help you bud.
Not really. In both modes no matter how many times I calibrate the compass , the transducer beam is facing 180゚ off.. For example if I point my transducer to the right side of my boat it shows it on the left side of my boat . If I point my transducer straight forward, The icon shows it facing towards the back of the boat. I've tried recalibrating the compass several times with the same results.
Thanks for the video. Looks like a great vertical jigging update. How does the update affect 35 feet out? I see most larger fish like to hold out from the boat and I pitch to them. Do you have any video of the update at a distance?
Yes I do bud. Still working on that video. But I still thinks it’s pretty good.
I’m still running the 15.10v on my 93sv uhd unit. I don’t like fixing what’s already working good lol
That’s my advice every single update
I do all my settings in simulation mode, works 95% of the time. Kentucky
Good idea.
Thanks for all your input on livescope. I tried your settings on my 1022 and they did real good, much better than before. I have one question, after I did my update a month or so ago, I no longer can overlay my speed on my screen. Have you heard of anyone else having this problem.
From what I was hearing there were some bugs in the new update. Watch the video I put out on a force update and reinstall the new update again from a card and that should do the trick
@@The_Garmin_Guru Thanks Bud, You do a great job on your video's, keep up the good work.
Will your settings just for the one unit or for all units. Great video and tips
These are for the gpsmap series I use. I will try to move one of 93uhd units up front and see about some settings for those also. Sorry bud I should have been more clear on that.
Bro I’m learning so much about my system
Thanks Zeno
I’m confused about which updates we’re talking about. The “last “ update vs the color gain update. Do you know what version # these are? Thanks enjoy your videos.
The color limit was the last update bud. I think it’s 26.10
color limit kind of the last thing you fine tune in . you talk about color separation at the end of the video and jacking up a setting . Is that the color gain ?
Yea. I’ve been breaking down individual settings each week
Are running the LVS 32 tranducer. I did purchase the 25.1 update but I have not download loaded it yet I have a 1022. What update version was yours. I can't keep up with all the new updates.
Yes there isn’t another transducer available yet. The lvs34 is coming but has been delayed again. 26.2
Great video
Thank you again bud.
Awesome
I think I’m
Getting it dialed in
I noticed you have ghost reject “off.”Did you learn anything different about This setting?
I’ve just noticed that I get a better pic with it off. Now these settings are fluid and if In my testing something changes I don’t mind telling people cause as with every update it takes time to figure things out.
As You are Garmin Guru - do You have any news about new lvs 34 which just show ?
I know but can’t tell anything
@@The_Garmin_Guru ok so waiit for offical info :) mostly the video showing diference
Man I been trying to get mine adjusted correctly for days...... 👍🏻
I hope this helps bud. It’s not perfect but until they do another update we have to work with it and I’m trying to pass along as much help as I can.
@@The_Garmin_Guru 👍🏻👍🏻
Sooo. If I haven't done the update yet, would you ?
If you’re happy with your pic I’d say hold up
Bud.
On your video the unit indicates 11.8 volts. Does that make a difference?
Naw that’s not gonna mess with it. If it’s starts getting into the 10ish ranges I’ve seen some effect.
@@The_Garmin_Guru ok. I’m new to livescope and really enjoy your videos. Thanks!
@@jasonstanley5818 man I appreciate you watching. You can email me at thegarminguru@gmail.com if you need any help bud
Unrelated question: is it possible to change a setting where you can quick-adjust your depth setting from the active livescope screen within different increments quickly? Mine currently goes from 5 to 10 to 20 to 30. I commonly want to go to 15 but digging into the settings takes time And I don’t find that I do it. Any help is appreciated?!!!
Which unit do you have bud
GPSMAP 1022
@@Dr_T_Harris the only way I know is in the settings and you can adjust one foot at a time
@@The_Garmin_Guru I was afraid of that, I wish you were able to dial it in 1 foot increments from your active livescope screen.
@@Dr_T_Harris that would be awesome
Which unit are you using for livescope?
I use the 943xsv and gpsmap 1022
I only troll . . . 10 to 21 feet of water usually. . . How do I use my livescope?
I would put it on the back of boat and use either perspective or forward mode. I hear lots of telling guys use perspective to follow their baits
@@The_Garmin_Guru thanks for responding . . . I just have the 32
@@allanvanbrocklin4968 it is a very good transducer. Don’t you dare think otherwise. I’ve caught too many fish with it.
🙂 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for watching bud
LOL!!! YOUR WELCOME.
No doubt bud. I didn’t take the credit bud. I have credit where credit was due for sure.
What are your opinions on the rumors of the new panoptix transducer lsv34
I figure it is coming sooner rather than later. Prolly around icast. The lvs32 is over 4 years old
I’m gonna wait a few months before I get one after they come out tho
What are they coming out with a new transducer to replace the LVS32?
@@detectvt9849 yes Garmin announced the new LVS 34 should be available within a month or two.
do you rotate your transducer for water depth?
I’m forward i
Don’t. In perspective I have been known to
@@The_Garmin_Guru thanks for that info
@@randy1ization I have a few different videos in the perspective playlist that I talk about transducer angle
What graph are you running?
1022 and 943xsv
What model Garmin are you running?
I run the gpsmap 1022 and 943xsv
@Garmin Guru nice! I was hoping you were talking about the GPSMAP SERIES. Because I have the 1243XSV and LVS32 system. And I didn't recognize the screen recording you have in this video. So i figure it must be u used your 1022.
It looked like ghost tree off?
Yea no ghost tree
hello, please tell me where you can find the firmware gpsmap 25.30 gls10 2.55
I wish I knew. Not a lot of people thought to save it
@@The_Garmin_Guru is the picture really getting worse by 2.57? I found firmware 2.54
Mmmm, crow :)
Good with hot sauce
Only bass fish.
I bass and crappie fish
I’m gonna turn my force transducer off
I do unless I’m in perspective mode and then it’s not gonna interfere anyway
So transducer off, noise reject off?
The original 220 is what they need to figure out what the original software guys made.this is 220

The new update we played with last week and found the same as you found. To me it does have a good bait return but dang it took a lot to get there .Awe played with it for 2 days straight till we got the best we could get.
Yes sir
