Probably one of the most unpredictable and underrated performers out there act in any genre even sing every now and then. I always look forward to whatever she's in.
I’ve always loved her. I saw her in Final Destination 3, Black Christmas, and Deathproof. Always could tell she would be a big star if given a blockbuster movie. She’s an incredible actress
She's one of the most underrated actresses we have, because she finds the right projects. She's about class and talent first and foremost. No drama, no ego. Just works hard and delivers great performances we end up taking for granted.
Agreed. Plus, it's so refreshing to know even such a high profile actor has doubts from time to time but with the hard work she puts in she always nails the part. In an interview Mary told about the role of Ramona that she played in Scott Pilgrim. She said she didn't really feel that she could become the enagmatic character, but when she put the wig on she sort of became more trusting. And of course she nailed the part. I guess that doubt-trust-success procedure is something that never really goes away. She just knows how to deal with it successfully.
I agree with the sentiment but I think she’s actually been done an injustice parts-wise. What I mean is, she’s amazing in whatever she’s in but only a couple of productions have been worthy of her talent and presence. She deserves better, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what she can do.
She has been in more mediocre films than good films… she must have a bad agent. She should be doing elegant art films and big franchise productions, instead she is in “Live Free or Die Hard”, “The Thing” remake and a bunch of “eh” movies that offered enough money and exposure to keep her somewhat relevant. These are not inspired decisions. She is absolutely fantastic and deserves better.
I remember seeing Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Tarantino’s “Deathproof” and thought she was just stunning! She’s had a varied acting career and of late she’s been taking on more action orientated roles; hope she keeps on doing them!
Of late, Mary Elizabeth has been taking few roles in the action genre, of course taking a cue from her on screen dad in the Die Hard film series, Bruce Willis - such as Birds of Prey and the most recent - Kate. And, she's great.
She was channelling Sigourney Weaver's Ripley in Kate. That was a great performance the very look in her eyes said this woman has seen some shit. My favourite actress at the moment she needs to star in a big movie that everyone is going to see she is very underrated.
Actors and actresses have been receiving an exceptional amount of pressure from their agents and producers to take on these action roles. I think it's terrible that serious actors wind up taking roles in these dreadful Marvel films based on pressure they're getting from people who should be looking out for their careers, not just shaking money trees.
If anyone hasn't seen her in the short lived brilliant series "Braindead", it's a must. The writing is brilliant and so is she. We laughed so hard - especially one of the episodes - I don't think we ever laughed so hard! I, too, would watch anything she's in.
Parents are a constant problem onset.. 90% are wannabee director's or actors themselves and they get in the way of production.. on a HEAVY day such as emotional scene or intense situation where the child can be comforted, yes.. allow parent's onset that day.. and ONLY in the trailer area or wayyy off camera
