For those who need extra colony stas: During your coronation on Dargonus talk to Abelard and allow his great granddaughter to speak (Drivesteen will try to stop her). She will give you the void beacons contract, which requires 1 people and 3 promethium and instantly gives all your colonies +2 Security +3 Complacency and +3 Security
Are you even human!? More like a god! I held off from Rogue Trader for a long time because I am more a D&D/Pathfinder guy but I am finally giving it a try and your guides are absolutely essential! Viva o rei dos guias!
One OP thing people might miss not included in the video. When you do the ceremony to officially become Rogue Trader towards the end of act 2, make sure to pass a coercion check when talking to Abelhards grand daughter, she mentions an idea for void beacons. This unlocks a super powerful contract that will provide a Permanent +2 to ALL colony stats on ALL colonies!
Minor correction for colony stats (5:00): Complacency doesn't "decrease the speed of project completion", it decreases the time it takes to build things - meaning it builds faster (in addition to the profit factor effect). Normally this is completely irrelevant because things get built in just a few warp jumps anyway but if complacency is at 10 everything builds instantly, which is nice. About resources: Long term (Act 4+) it seems that the only thing that is actually able to softlock colony progression is "flogiston", other resources will pretty much always exist in abundance, especially the ones that you can produce in the colonies (like mechanisms) - it is possible that this wouldn't be the case if you tank efficiency, but I think you'd have an excess regardless, since even without any of the mutually exclusive buildings you should have enough to do all other buildings and contracts. I don't recall if resource quantities are randomly rolled but I've yet to see anyone say they got softlocked (on colony progress) by anything other than "flogiston".
"decrease the speed of completion" sounds like a negative but if you're right then that's good but very poor english from owlcat as I agree with CRPG's interpretation from the wording
That janus torpedo reccomendation really made me feel better for picking the nuclear option for Janus Warlord (rp reasons) I was thinking pretty hard on which one to pick lol.
Hey thanks for the guides and the updated videos help a lot. I just got the game as a gift and even the old videos have great information to start with. Finally understand more how skills and talent works and what good options are for most classes. I never knew you could manage colonies at the ship.
hey cRPG Bro, just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the work you put into this and your recent updated guides! i've fallen madly in love with RT and your guides helped me acclimate to the game systems so much, really opening the game up to me. i especially appreciate the time and care you put into explaining your choices and the mechanics' interactions. it's a staggering amount of work and i'm so grateful for all you've done for all of us out here. appreciate you so much!!!
I really need to get back into the game. Damn thing with the dense and story intense games is that once you stop playing for a while it is harder to reconnect to the plot and vibe of it all. Good thing I basically get a free ride through the strategy part of it all thanks to your guides. Great job as always.
Dude thanks for the guides, this game really needs some updates sources of info, and your vids are probably the best sources atm. Just leaving a comment for the almighty youtube machine spirit algorithm.
For the escort ship you get for the dargonus project i would also add that depending on which project you choose, it will change what escort ship you get. The pirate escort you get is very squishy but launches torpedoes vs the the other one is tankier but dosent do allot of dmg but its definitely better imo.
Apologies if mentioned already, but the unlock for the Janus project that gives Spirit Drape comes later than stated in vid, it's the Tier III or Tier IV unlock, not the Tier II unlock. (C-bro did hedge by saying "I believe," he's still got a perfect batting record) Just watch for it and you won't miss it! I just have to mention here that "Saint Cognatius" is a hall of fame pun, I don't think Owlcat / Games Workshop / whoever is getting the credit they deserve
For RP reasons I decided to turn Janus into a giant drug farm with biologis and monstrous servants. The main reason being that I needed to turn many of my excess prisoners into cash crops since my RT is already trying to maximize profits.
oh thank god the other guides on youtube were all 9+ months ago and the UI doesn't help you, so you need previous or outside information for the entire system. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I'm glad to see that most of my choices during my plays have been correct ones. Do you know when you'll be doing an updated Heinrix build?
The only thing I hate about Surgeon medikits is that they don't heal injuries, only traumas. I've mistakenly used them so many times. Thank you very much for the guide! Awesome work, you keep me in the game. I just hope that after all companions you do alternative Pasqal build where he's the one who does the damage - melee, ranged, hybrid, BH, Assassin, whatever you think is better. For the rest it's pretty easy to make different builds for different runs using your other videos, but with Pasqal I need help, he's too special.
i just started a new playthrough with my brother and was looking for some build for custom companions, but there arent alot out there, have you considered making some and also maybe a plasma build that arent for pasqal or jae but for the char you make yourself? love the videos
It's periodically after enough time has passed (usually by travelling in the worldmap). You have to click on the specific Colony in the Colony Management tab to get them (because it defaults to Janus, just click on another then back to Janus to receive the Janus ones). You don't have to visit the planet at all, it can be done remotelly through the Colony Tab/Y in the worldmap.
Traveling through Yellow+ (non safe) areas I think, sometimes you can get an event that increases Insight by +1. Also, if you save the Navigator NPC at the Gutted Voidship in Pulvis Platinum System, you can get a +10 to Insight for free. Ideally you don't need to reduce route bellow Yellow to save points, usually it's only annoying at Orange/Red, because that's when the more dangerous events can happen when travelling.

I can't choose stuff that's clearly terrible rp-wise like the ecstasiums. Malpian Shroud story event was just not good for Foulstone in a lore wise way either. So I didn't get the item. Also still need a Heinrix, Jae, and Eldar option build and I'm still in Act 2. I was hoping Heinrix could be something unique but so far he's been underwhelming except in plot. The Foulstone event that chooses the religious icon also has a more iconoclast one that has no immediate reward but leads to a contract giving 5k rep to all reputation vendors. Also you didn't rewally mention it but several of your selections wouldn't have worked for alternative tier 5's so be aware of those.
in my OP, all this mechanics just for - V (tick), its seems uncomplete, like Gruzade mechanic in WOTR. Owlcat styleee. Still u can get few benefits from dat, and cRPG Bro explaing this properly - like usually .

kkkk aí sim, Spell and Shield. Os BR vão dominar aqui tudo meu fi! Bora jogar Rogue Trader logo cara. É demais. Tô na segunda campanha!

As a counter point with Vheabos VI, Killing Field for the superior munitions passive is a very nice alternative.
finished the game 5 times, i didn't notice security had a use

How do replenishments work? Is it replenished automatically in your inventory? After every battle? Do you have to visit the planet?
It's periodically after enough time has passed (usually by travelling in the worldmap).

@@cRPGBro Alright, thanks!
I have a question can the psyker officer build use the force sword?
No Kiava Gamma rewards that are worth it?
Whats the best way to farm Navigators Insights? Is there an upper limit, especially after mapping out most of the galaxy?
Traveling through Yellow+ (non safe) areas I think, sometimes you can get an event that increases Insight by +1.
