  • In my last video i fessed up to a 'behind the scenes' table of succulents that did not look great for a multitude of reasons and had problems needed fixing.
In this video i'm going to take a few succulents out of this table, identify the problem and demonstrate how to get them looking amazing again.

FYI; Grubs can grow into Christmas, Rhinoceros, Fiddler and other native beetles. PLEASE don't kill them or feed to the chooks. Just relocate them. :) I LOVE your videos. With Love from An Entomologist.

Thank you so much for letting me know, I'll make sure to put this in my next video on grubs and will start rehoming from now on! 😥I hate killing any living creatures and rehome everything except for aphids, mealybugs and cabbage moth larvae (they go to the chickens). A sales rep for agricultural supplies once told me the grubs found in nurseries are of invasive beetles & weevils and, stupidly, I never went to research it 😔

3:28 Do you put the cut off Rosette into some potting mix immediatley or do you wait some days before doing so? And do you water the cut off Rosette or do you wait? Found your videos some days ago and I love them! ❤

Good question- i do leave them for about a day or two, in a bright, covered spot so the wound dries before putting them in potting mix. I then start watering when the potting mix has dried up- you don't have to water immediately or often just when the potting mix looks very dry. Hope this helps 🙂💚

Hi, I live in WA. I'm very new in succulents world. I love them but I start to have trouble with mealy bugs, and "sooty mold" (?). I've used alcohol, but it doesn't work. May you help? Thanks.

Mealybugs are a tough one- they can become resistant to pesticides and are protected by a waxy coating. If they're big enough to squash, you can try with a toothpick/skewer and move the infected plants away from healthy ones. Isopropyl alcohol tends to work on baby mealies quite well but, you may need to treat multiple times. People swear by different remedies but i find the Aussie mealybug is just built different- they are so tough to get rid of, even with harsh pesticides 😭Mould can be killed by fungicides- Bunnings sells a diluted, ready to go spray bottles. You will need to apply regularly throughout the mold season (follow the label for instructions). I do have a video on mealies if you're interested 🙂👉
