    Excellent video! I just referenced it when installing the same RETRAX Tonneau cover on my 2022 RAM 3500 CTD that arrived 2 days ago. Much appreciated!

      I'm glad it worked. I wish I would have done this years ago.

    Very helpful video. I’ve got one of these ordered and, without having seen it yet, I don’t understand how those white adjustment screws move the rails if the clamps are already tightened. Do you loosen the clamps before you make the adjustments? Thanks.

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, you loosen the clamps and the screws push the rails and then you tighten it back down. You really want the rails tilted upward as much as possible and for that I recommend another person pulling up on the rail while you tighten the clamps to hold it in place.

    Thank you. Great job. I have a small angled gap toward cab (1/2" maybe) how do I adjust? If water leaks into cab on both "side tracks" is that because I didn't angle the side rails enough?

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  Год назад +1

      Thanks! If you loosen the clamps that hold the side tracks on, you can slide it forward or backward to close that gap. You can try to angle the side rails a little more to see if that helps with the water, but I think it's more for the rollers to go through the tracks easier.

    Nice. Just had one of these installed on my 2021 Ram 1500 Classic. When closed the cover only overlaps the tailgate by about 1/4?"-1/2", is this how it should be?

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  Год назад

      Yeah, that's about what mine is. They make a better seal kit that seals around the sides of the tailgate.

    Do those holes you put the drain tubes through next to the front tie-downs actually drain out? I was told they don't and you should use the ones in the front wall of the bed.

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  Год назад

      Mine do. They go between the panels and almost straight down. There's about a 4" gap between the outer panel.

    i want to load dirt bikes. how much of the front of the bed is consumed by the cannister/cover when when rolled up. thanks.

    • @RoadandReel

      It comes out about 15 inches. I'm sure a headache rack type of mount could be made to fit the rails and get the front wheels up and above the canister.

    How long for the install?

  • @kirkkageno2461

    Looks like you clamped the cab side only to the bed rail and not the track.

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  2 года назад

      Up front, the track is double walled and the inner wall is what is clamped due to the bed rails not being perfectly parallel. So, the track is clamped, but it appears to be on the back side.

      Did you align it correctly to the tailgate? Are the hoses connected properly to the roll can? Mine is waterproof unless I spray the tailgate seal with a hose, but it has held up through a lot of rain and carwashes.

      They are not water or dust tight per the company. Found out the hard way. They warrantied my roller box with cover, but not my side rails. Basically told me tough sh!t. I based my RTT and riser setup off this cover, so now I’m out a load of cash! It might be secure, but only if you don’t need weather protection.

    Can't get thru it without a fight? You're joking right? The tailgate can be stolen in 20 seconds and that cheap silly lock on the cover can be popped by a 10 year old girl with a screwdriver.
