What terrified me as a kid was when you defeated him for the first time and Bowser fell into the lava. The fact that we see him constantly struggle to get out of the lava pit until he becomes nothing but bones, all the while he sounds like he's screaming in agony.
this was my first game ever played! This was the game that makes me play today lots of mario games! I still think today that this game was revolutionary for that era!

I love Bowser!! He’s my favorite character of the Super Mario franchise! The only thing is disliked was the roar. I’m glad they changed it to a better one.
