  • Here is a video about three Omega Speedmasters that I hold with special affection. They are not perfect vintage, rather they are watches that I can wear all the time. Two are sightly modified from original, and there is also a discussion of the 1994 18Kt white gold chronometer, a very rare watch.
    This was also an exercise in video editing, something I have no experience or knowledge of, apart from what I have taught myself, with the help of RUclips of course.
    Do let me know of any special requests, and do not forget to look through the site www.speedmaster101.com.

    I've just completed my viewing of the current set of 5 episodes on the Omega Speedmaster - I have to say it's been an absolute pleasure to learn (so much more) about the history and rare issues surrounding this watch from a collector with such an unbridled passion for the series - the vocabulary used to describe the condition and key features of each watch perfectly blended personal enthusiasm with clearly understandable reference points and identification markers for each distinct set of Speemaster releases - the information supplied will be invaluable when I look to add further purchases to my Omega collection and will remain a reference point for me on the subject - thank you for taking the time and effort to post these William, they're very much appreciated.

    You are so correct William. If you like a watch then do as you please with it. As long as it makes you happy.

    William, LOVE the content! I have a DON pre mooney, and I want to have more! I have a "collection" problem! I own mostly classic constellations and America's cup watches, but being almost 62, I admired Speedies growing up, well, coveted them actually! My late father gave each of his 3 sons the Omega of their choice for college graduation. I still have mine, and his 67 or so connie day date. Any way, THANK YOU fro Florida!

    Another great video. How about a video on the top 3 best value for money vintage speedmasters?

    Very interesting! I love that orange hand design, too. I first saw it on the Omega Dynamic and later on a Seamaster reverse Panda. Neon orange. During a service Omega replaced a non-original straight chrono hand that someone had painted with nail varnish. They must have still had one. In the meantime I have heard that hands of very popular watches might become available again, a bit like the strap for the Dynamic.

    Hello William ,
    For a new video on the channel, will it be possible to talk about how to keep/preserve the Speedmaster?
    for example:
    - what is the best way to keep our Speedmaster (inside the box, hidden from the sun, in a ventilated place);
    - sticker / cover to protect the box, does it damage the watch back case?
    - how should we clean the speedmaster (box, bezel, bracelet)?
    - to prevent humidity inside, it will be better to have a "silica bag" close the speedmaster
    Congratulations on the channel,
    Continued with the good work on the channel

    hello great collection, I also have a 69 speedy, in perfect condition, I'm the second owner I bring it for a servicing in Geneva directly to omega. the only problem of my watch is the bottom is a little twisted so it is not really water resistant. I have some other also limited edition but they are not vintage. I really enjoy them.

    More of this would be excellent; going through the 'off the beaten track' watches, how you acquired them, and what they are like to own...

    "Terrible" is not to enjoy your watches as you will. I personally had a blast with this video. Your watches are terrific (that pvd is totally progressive and copied now by Omega themselves) and that orange hand? "No its not an Ultraman..." I can so much correlate! that really made me laugh. I dont know what I enjoy more... the Speedies or your sense of humour.

    You have an amazing collection. These videos are a great additional resource to accompany your site. I’d be very interested to see videos relating to the 2915 and 2998. Both models are somewhat out of my price range, but there is a certain mystique, especially around the 2915, that fascinates me.

    • @Speedmaster101
      @Speedmaster101  4 года назад

      The 2915 is a really hard reference to discuss, as there are so few examples and even fewer with documented history and originality. There are many people who understand them far more than me, but also some who will tell you they know everything, with great confidence, but they are simply Image scrutinizers, who dont actually hold watches.

    hello, might be stupid to say but it looks like your speedy with orange minute hand has a special bezel. It is written 220 instead of 200 on the tachymeter, some people call this particular printing error on the bezel a "missprint bezel". Anyway great video

      My collection is focused on pre 1978 speedmasters, and so I do not follow the late models so closely.
