Well thanks for the videos, very interesting viewing. I'm about to start a similar construction in my yard, here in the UK, using railway sleepers.
It's not a very common building method here, so I'm struggling to find much in the "how to" vein. Watching yours come together has been a real help.
I'm probably going to go for strip foundations, bringing things up above ground level with blocks, before starting to lay the sleepers. I'll then add a joinsted, insulated floor and timber framed insulated wall inside but the actual surfing and joining of the sleepers will be similar to yours. I alai fall like the way you've got the traditional extended, interlaced logs sticking out at the corners; I might do the same.
    Good luck!

May I make a odd comment? Is it possible you could bring the out house flush against the back wall, cut a hole in the wall and be able to walk right into the out house? Is this a feasible option? At least you would not have to go outside to gain entry and you might probably has some heat going into the out house???? Just a thought.

maybe.. but i live in alabama, and cold isnt that much of a problem.. 100 deg summer and smelling the feces would be more of a concern for me.. altho no smell now.. wondering what summer will bring..

Any issues with gaps developing as time as past? I am looking to do the same thing with black oak logs and curious how yours is holding up with this style. Thanks

Can you tell me how much it cost to build? This is my dream! I recently inherited land in a forest in Kentucky. I'm going to build this. Is this wood you can get from Lowe's or Home Depot?
