I looked for a caravan for a few months recently. Started looking at regular poptops around 16 to 18 foot. I quickly realised these had low ground clearance so I switched to looking at semi-offroad. Very luckily I spotted a 2012 13 foot Coromal, rear entry with 2 single beds. I was apprehensive that a 13-foot wouldn't have enough space. Price was quite cheap for a semi-offroad from a private seller and I'm absolutely chuffed with it so far - so much space under the beds and good overhead storage as well as 2 gas bottles. About to head off for a long, slow trip.
Howdy... I just bought a Jayco single axle expanda(bed each end),plenty of room for 2. I am in the process of a few mods. I'm wanting to be self sufficient with all elect, fridge, induction stove, air fryer & totally do away with the gas. Got 700watt of solar panel on the roof & 560ah lithium battery bank. Will set up an outdoor shower & that's it... Looking forward to some great holidays of the beaten track. Cheers!
shower/toilets inclusion typically start as 23 foot and up.. family of 4-6 min spec of 30--45 foot at 3.5 tons you are pushing 23 foot with an offroad package that is matching your tow vehicle in spec.. with poptops and trees and camping under them be sure you own a chainsaw otherwise you will have problems personally at 6'1" i tend to look at ceiling and door heights of 6'5" Door and for internal 7'5' the more people you hsvr to store the more height you need for air volume..
Hi Paul i guess the other thing that needs looking at is do you expect to be going on roads like the Gibb and others like it with the van i m content to take a tent for those occasions i have a 4x4 all set up for that instance

Great information mate, I have more knowledge on this after your thoughts on the vans

Does your van have a shower?
This video is my old poptop caravan without a shower

You can get a ever shower.
Yes, just put the bucket on the spare tyre and fire up a pump I have
