Good points. Some people thing they know it all and they have never owned a van. Caravan yard sales pitch people. All the gear with no idea. Just remember all the service centres in the world can’t help you in the middle of no where. 🛠🍻

Good point Jorji. A general service of the van is a great idea once you get it home.

Hi Paul how your trip going around Australia you should come back down to South Australia I remember you stayed at our camp park in Adelaide Hills

      Hi Angus,
Loving my trip and your farm has a special place in my heart. I probably will return to SA, however WA is very delicate and leaving here, might be a bad choice atm.
You were saving for a drone, is that you?

Pretty thorough coverage. Thanks. I’d add gut feeling about the seller. If you’re looking on Ebay simple things like the sellers satisfaction rating is an excellent resource. The bloke I bought mine off had 100% customer satisfaction rating & had several hundred sales behind him so I knew he was probably ok. You can’t get that info dealers on & private sellers unless they sell on Ebay.

      Excellent comment,
Yes I too am an experienced buyer/seller on eBay and the advice you referred to above is very helpful, thanks

Paul there is 2 ways to park up a caravan regardless of size..
    1. reverse with camera
    2. tow ball on bull drive it in forward
Noting: this method gives better turning into bay..
    3 way via manual push
    1. jockey wheel
    2. pneumatic jockey wheel
    3. powered powered jockey this be your best option if not using vehicle to push van into place
note if caravan has 2 inlets for power, if powering via genset the genset outlets must be rated for 20amps @ 220/240 vac as house and aircon is on separate circuits
I'd be inclined to run 2 car fridges whilst moving for place to place..
never have anything in fridge unless it has vdc support as the old trimatics lpg/240/12-24vdc can't use gas whilst you are moving to keep the shit cold in the van

very good information,I just bought a Newage big red,My SUV is surpose to tow 3 ton so thought I would be right.
I had to take it in to get new tyres and found my car would pull it but under a lot of labour.
All my money spent on a van that will use more fuel and burn the engine out faster.

      Anne,
I'm so sorry to hear that. There are ways to lower your fuel consumption. I will be doing a video on it soon, if you're interested 🙂

      Hey Benny,
I have 2 small water tanks x 60 each, also have a 20 lite carry on the roof + though I'm against the wastage I buy a 24 pack of small bottles of water for emergencies

Hi Paul, interested to know why you upgraded? What were the must haves for you?

    • @PaulWheelDriveAustralia
      @PaulWheelDriveAustralia  2 года назад +2

      Hi Paula,
I upgraded to have more room inside the van. And that was because I struggle to get rid of too many bits and bobs I carry.
Must have for my trip was an air conditioner, more storage, the pop top has no upper storage. Shower with hot water and separate toilet was to be a luxury. A large queen island bed is a luxury. A bigger fridge was a must have as I found small bar fridge really was incapable of holding much and a tiny freezer.
      That about wraps it up.
      Thanks for your interest 😉

@@PaulWheelDriveAustralia sounds like the must haves on my list for a 2nd hand van. Have you noticed much of a difference in towing between the two vans or is it negligible?
