So many black women including myself edges keep breaking it so strange, and I don't even rock lace wigs or anything it's somewhat depressing. I hope ur grows back and Flourishes 🤎
It is very depressing but we’ll find the solution together. I wish health and growth on you as well
I noticed my hair came out after having my third child. He is 7 now and my edges are still bald. I was told by a dermatologist to take biotin 15,000mcg. I just started taking it avout 2 weeks ago. It takes a lot of patience. I do see some hair growing back after 2 weeks. I also have low iron n vitamin D. A hairstylist that is specialied in natrual hair told me I need to take vitamins as well. That's what I'm doing now.
@@mrs.johnson3291 my gp said the same thing , iron tablets and vitamins. So going to stock up and be patient. Thank you sis. 🤎
When it comes to our edges as black women, we tie down our hair a lot. Even with satin caps, most sit on our edge line so it's still tension on our hair follicles. Be careful doing face masks and certain face washes that cross the hairline. We are the only race that lays our edges with edge control and it tends to be thicker than grease so even that adds a form of tension. Also, birth control contributes to hair loss, we are the highest demographic on birth control. If you're dark skin, you likely have an issue with Vitamin D because being dark skin doesn't allow us to absorb thru the sun. Check your calcium and iron levels. Start by taking a multivitamin vitamin for women. I take prenatals because they have higher vitamins levels at the same price so you don't have to take 2-3 to get the vitamin dosage. Also, be sure your not sensitive to the hair you wear or add because it will take your hair out. Get comfortable when your baby fro because wearing wigs smother your scalp and hair follicles.
@@yolandawilson6619 ... being African American, we need vitamin D.. my hair was shedding really bad, I take 2500 vitamin D and biosil, but before you take anything, talk with your doctor!!!:-)
It's growing y'all! I cant wait to see where I'm at in a year. THANK YOU to everyone that has given me advice, commented and supported me. I had instant regret shaving my head especially when I saw no growth within the first couple weeks. My head was shaved mid march but I didn't post the video of me shaving my head until April. I felt embarrassed, vulnerable and ashamed knowing the damage to my scalp was self inflicted. Your comments and knowing that I am not going through this alone has kept me going. Im grateful for you all ♥️
Aww it is growing back really fast and thick too. Just be careful with those edges. Good thing you are not using glue. Love the wig but its too long for me. I won't know how to care for it :)
It is growing!!
I’m in same situation so I came back to check if there’s an update
Please keep us updated
My edges are very similar please update on the Japanese oil before 6 months 😫 I’m so tired of purchasing products I don’t want to buy it yet waiting on your update… good luck
It's embarrassing because we are such slaves to our looks. Embrace your short hair and stop using "protective" styles....ask yourself, what are you protecting your hair from? Learn to embrace your own hair...It actually looked so cute and you looked great. Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves. At the end of the day TTC...no one really cares, you just think they do. Lose the Lace, embrace your style, your hair, your face.😊
Did u still experience a lot of shedding on the first day of your journey?

So happy to see to you on your natural hair journey.
I love how real you are because I'm going through the same thing and I've watched so many videos about growing my edges back and I have tried 😩 so many and I haven't seen any results, I must say thank you for your honesty 🙏 ❤ I'm gonna try yours out to see if it helps
Girl let me know what products work for you and we’ll get these edges in order together 👏👏
Some of those products aren't even black owned anymore. When the products are sold the formula changes. I suggest using foods to assist with hair growth. Like fenugreek, cloves, aloe, red palm oil, and flax seeds!
Yes !! I’m adding clove/rosemary water to my routine and I’m so excited. I heard Shae Moistures isn’t black owned anymore which explains why my hair didn’t respond to it. Btw you are GORG! 💕
@@tamithecreator I think it's makes sense to spend money on food and make my own products. That way I know what's in it. Glad you're doing it too! Thanks mi dear, your beautiful as well!
For you to have traction alopecia means you need to omit the wig wearing. Sis you have beautiful hair. Embrace it and let that hair breathe. Find twa styles and rock'em! You already use edge control so keep doing that and don't hide under the wigs cause it is harming your edges. Last, connect with June the trichologist I mentioned in your other vid.
Hey! Thank you so much for both your comments! Thank you for the reference. As of now, I found a derm in my area that examined my scalp and she said yes my follicles are damaged but they’re still there so there’s room for a 180 even though my hair will grow back thinner. I’m just growing it out for a year to see where I am before I seek treatments. As far as the wig wearing my edges aren’t ready for outside 🥴 my bad side is still thin even with edge control. I give wigs another month or two before my hair will be long enough for other protective styles. I appreciate your comment(s) so much and will look into the trichologist (first I’ve heard of this profession)
I was thinking the same thing. My hair is thin on the edges. I am cutting it next week. No wigs, and no braids. Just leave it alone. I am excited for my cut.
I thank you young lady for your transparency on your past video.
YES!! And putting glue/gel on the edges for the lace wig closes off the follicles. I agree learn to rock the TWA...let your edges breath.
The mixture is really working, I have seen the big difference with your edges.
New subbie. Loving your transparency 😍
I like the natural fro with the styled edges, it's cute and more You 🙌🌼🕊️
Ayo, once I stopped using that shea moisture shampoo, the unusual amounts of shedding stopped.
Your hair is flourishing...keep loving on her lol
Yoooo, did you use the same line as me or a different line? I was gonna give then another chance but I'm scared now
@@tamithecreator I used the same line as you. If you give it another try, keep us updated, plz.
Yasss girl u can rock it! U should start some twists, under your wigs to save the ends of your new growth
Definitely doing twists soon my wigs are sitting high because my hair underneath is growing so much 😭
Your hair grow so fast!
Thank you for the update🤗
thank you for sharing. i may have to give that new product a try for my edges
So far it’s working great but I liked the Shae moisture at first too so I can’t speak too soon 🥴
Thanks for the hair recommendations also the warning about shea shampoo and conditioner.
The shedding from the shea moisture can be due to protein overload, since those are strengthening products with alot of protein ingredients. Balance it out with moisturizing products (Camille rose hydrating line is amazing).
TINISH! I just saw your other comment lol hey girlllllllllllllll! YOUR SO RIGHT ABOUT THE PROTEIN. I’ve already been checking out Camille Rose but you sealed the deal, I’ll be making the purchase. Glad you big chopped btw!! I wish you a lot of growth on your journey!
@@tamithecreator Okay so I deleted the comment from the other video, my bad girl i was too excited Lol , yes please check out their line and Thank you!!
Yes beware with protein, many hair products contain proteins by other names and will cause hair breakage. If protein is needed then apply an actual protein treatment on a schedule vs protein in shampoo, conditioner, leave in, gel, masks.
You may want to also try the Afro Steam Cap after you've washed your hair and applied your growth product. The steam and heat from that cap is very instrumental in hair growth. I myself had a bald spot near the front of my head after I installing a half wig incorrectly and it ended up taking out my hair at the top of my head but I started using the afro steam cap along with one of the hair growth oils that you use and my bald spot is pretty much grown in with the exception of one little area and that's been since March. So I would highly recommend that you get an afro steam cap if you don't already have one because it definitely promotes hair growth and scalp stimulation✌🏾
Gonna look it up on Amazon thank you!
Very thorough video. Thank you.
Congrats on your hair journey, sis. To everyone reading this, Jesus loves you.
Your hair is growing nicely.
You are a sweetheart I just went through all of your comments!
I think the wigs are keeping your edges sparse. I figure I myself need to sew satin/silk into my wig caps & wigs. That material of the caps & inside the wig always gonna destroy hair
I agree, it’s the best thing for me now though during this transition. I can’t wait to start wearing knotless braids
I know the wigs won’t help your edges out. You’ll have to stop them completely. I stopped putting any type of weave or quick weave products in my hair for a few months and my edges grew back. Then I started wearing wigs and I see my edges thinning again and pushing back like yours. Which is how it’s been pretty much my life of weave wearing. 20+ years. Definitely the edge control may cause edge lost or the caps. Im going to stop weave wearing for a year and see what happens. Good luck on your journey.
Good luck on your journey as well, unfortunate wigs are all I have as an option right now but that’ll change soon enough
@@tamithecreator not true, you can wear head coverings because the friction from those wig caps (stocking caps) will prevent your hair from growing. No more excuses ! You can do it , love your natural beautiful God given hair as much as you love those wigs.
@@tamithecreator Instead of wigs I wear a satin lined beanie or a bandana. These are great options as well, but I feel you. If you’re not ready to explore other options you’re not ready. Gotta do what’s best for you.
i recomend you try dermarolling for the edges
This video is inspiring, I'm natural & I will be using this growing concoction immediately blessings to all of us on our healthy hair journey!
Blessing! I’m praying for a healthy growth journey for you!
@@tamithecreator Ty!💙
The same thing happened with me and the same shampoo & conditioner Extreme Shedding!
Thank God I went with my gut and stopped using it! What shampoo do you use now?? I like the TGIN but I’m not married to it as of yet
I wish I knew what was happening to the crown of my hair. It's thinning and it becomes so itchy and sore to the point I want to pull and scratch my hair out. The crazy thing is it only happens in my crown area. Whew...but when I tell you the itchiness is unreal. It is UNREAL! I would honestly take not having edges versus my crown being so itchy and sore like this.
😭🥴 I hope your find a solution. Sounds like dermatitis to me but I can’t imagine the discomfort omg
@@tamithecreator Thank you, and yeah it sucks.
That's a very nice wig.
Sis try microneedling for your edges especially for the bald spots it really helps
Micro needling has been recommended so much to me, I’m going to do my research and buy what I need to but to get started asap! Thank you!
I was just about to recommend that...it works!
Oh here it is
Lol I saw your comment on the other video
I tried Shea moisture, I absolutely hated it, never again. I've started to use hyaluronic acid one a month on my scalp it helps to unclog your follicles also it's supposed to help people with dandruff.
I just read your comment on my other video, I'm definitely stealing your routine, looks like my hair is very similar to yours.
I went to subscribe but you don't have any videos 😩
@@tamithecreator Sorry no videos. My hair is getting there it went really weird about 4 years ago it was extremely dry. After watching YT I learned some things a bit of trial and error my hair is growing back slowly but surely. I just want to change my shampoo, looking for something really rich and moisturising. I am with you on this journey.
I think I'm going to do this to my hair my right side edges are gone. I'm really scared they may not grow back but I'm going to try to put something on them.
It’s tough at first but definitely worth it!! I wish you a healthy growth journey!
Hello, you look really pretty, with your natural hair!!!!!:-)
Thank you 🥹
@@tamithecreator ... you’re welcome!!!:-)
Wear silk scarves, no bonnet. It can break your edges. I wore the same exact bonnet as you and noticed less breaking when I switched to silk scarves ❤️
I’ll make the switch! Thank you!
Where you get that container I like what I see so far on your journey ima do the same
I gotta update all the links in the description bar but it’s an applicator bottle from Amazon, I got a 2 pack and it was less than $10
I have the same problem too...i have tried everything am now tired,i even shaved still no change... its really draining me
How did yours thin out if you don’t mind me asking?
This hair growth grease actually Works:)
Yesss💪💪
I need help myself out in the top iam 75 I want my hair back I used doo shampoo and contusion by short
I think we are in the same condition o🤔 I just subscribe to your channel to follow up. I really need my frontal😃 I'm uploading mine soon🤭 thanks for sharing 👍
Yesss! Im going to sub to you!
Your fro is looking so cute. ❤💜Please don't wear the wigs. I much prefer your natural hair. Massage your scalp daily and wear hairbands when you go out.
Once the edges grow back it’s over for the wigs 💁🏽♀️ can’t wait to start doing protective styles
Where can I order that shampoo and conditioner where can I buy it at Tgin shampoo an Tign conditioner can you please give me the website to it or it's in the beauty supply store somebody let me know thank you.
Hey it’s sold at target or any hair store. Amazon has it as well
Well right now can't get into all the details about my growing hair'ss an how I have to start over my growing hair'ss. so I'm just going to say I was just looking for this video. through an see if I see this video. because I wanted to see the new shampoo an conditioner that I need to use cuz I am getting tired of my hair coming out with this shampoo an conditioner I'm using so I want to try something new. the same one that she showing I think that I'M using that one. And I think it was a little bit taken out of my head too so please let me know where I can get the one that you showing now going back to the video I used shae shampoo and conditioner and I think it was letting my hair fall off but what is the one that y'all hooked up with I would like to try that one.
If Shae moisture works for you then stick with it. It didn’t work for me and I’m like oh the TGIN but what works for me may not work for you. Feel free to give it a try though, like I said in your other comment you can find it at ultra, beauty supply, target, Amazon etc
Try Mane Choice
Try bask&lather besk hair growth product !
Gonna look it up thank you
This product is no joke . It really works . I have the same issue as you and I’ve been using this . I started seeing hair grow on my edges in 2 weeks . I can send you my pics of my edges

Love your vulnerability ❤️. You should do some research into minoxidil. I have locs but my hair was thinning and shedding due to a brain tumor. I’ve been using minoxidil for about 8mo my edges damn near touch my eyebrows now. Also maybe satin lined head wraps to give your hair a break from wigs.
Minoxidil is added to my list! I’m praying for you hope you have/had a full recovery 🙏🙏
@@tamithecreator @ jnmt1219 The issue with minoxidil is that once you start utilizing this it must be continued for the remainder of your life as it is a medication that requires a prescription and once you stop using it your hair issue will resume. It'd be best to find something else that has lifetime results whether it is discontinued or not.
Both suggestions (minoxidil and satin lined head wraps) work. The minoxidil if you stop using will result in hair loss but it absolutely works to stimulate the hair. Wigs are okay now because they are more breathable but sew in the satin around the entire perimeter of the wig to reduce stress and breakage on the edges.
I shaved mines bald and my sides did not grow
seriously?? oh no 😭 mine are growing back faint
My egdes never grew back. Its been 7 years now 😢😢😢
It’s been about the same amount of time for me too but this is the first time I’m actually taking care of them so they grow back. Good luck to your on your journey, I know from experience it’s not the easiest
Hi. I order 2 I didn't get a response how long they take to respond back. In where the wigs come from
What did you order the wig? And the wigs come from overseas, counting the weekend mine took a good week to get to me
Ok. My daughter did it 3 days ago I didn't it was coming Overseas how long it took to contact you
do you wash your wigs before you use?
Always
How often are washing your hair?
Every 2-3 weeks
Virgin fertilizer jb castor oil wild growth all work I was team no edges and then became team no nape it all grew back
Yesss! Speak it! It’s working so well for me
My edges grew back with sulfur 8 light grease, it’s the blue container
I need to see what’s the difference between the yellow and light blue
Hi Tami how are you doing? Let me tell you baby girl you don't need to mix all these oils to grow your hair just use the black castor oil by itself and then go to Walmart or the pharmacy purchase the BIOTIN vitamin for hair and skin ok and don't forget to drink a lot of water. I had almost the same problem with my hair but now if you see my you will be shocked and don't forget to pray God to restore your hair 🙏
You’re right lol but do you have a good biotin that you recommend?? I’m using one but idc for it
Hi how are you doing? It might not be the biotin ,it could be the shampoo that you're using
You are beautiful
I would add ayurvedic herbs, clove spray, clove/coffee oil and a derma roller to your routine. I saw great results with cloves on reducing alopecia on another channel; notricknaturalproducts. And coffee reduces shedding.
Appreciate your comments! Derma rolling is on my list, I already purchased it! I’ll check out the channel you mentioned. Thank you so much!
@@tamithecreator Welcome ;)
Shea Moisture haven’t been good since they sold out to Unilever years ago.I use to love the Raw Shea line but now it’s a watery mess
You said it! I wish I knew before I wasted my money
Your topical treatment for your hair appears to be working...For optimum growth get a potent vitamin for your hair... Healthy hair and nails work from the cellular level...it may take a couple of months before you see the difference...Not only will you have healthier hair it also increases the volume of your hair!
That’s the goal! Thank you
Shea moisture is not black owned anymore they sold the company the ingredients and product has not been the same in years and if you continue to use it it most definitely probably will continue to take your hair out 💯💯💯💯💯💯🤦♀️
I jumped on the bandwagon too late 😭😩
You’re edges where it is bare has permanent damage if you do not see a dermatologist to get the proper stimulation medicated product to see if there are any viable follicles that can grow hair. If not since you have beautiful thick hair in the back you would be a good candidate for hair transplant. I sought out a dermatologist too late but your damage was done within this last year and they can prescribe something to help remove the inflammation on your scalp and you will see what hair can really have a chance. Some grew in for me but not much. I wish I would have gotten this advice from someone.
Thank you for your advice. I will be going to a derm soon (I’m waiting another 6 months) to get steroid shots and if that doesn’t work, transplant it is ..
@@tamithecreator to me you only have one side that is really challenge. I have both. I use wigs too as a protective style now I know how I got traction alopecia, I use all the smart techniques you use now and have stopped all further damage. You’re hair. Is really flourishing. Please keep posting. I can relate to your journey and as you progress I an use some of your tips.
Any tight hair style will break off your edges.
This one girl on here used watermelon juice I thought that was interesting..she uses mostly fruits veggies and natural oils on her hair..her hair is so beautiful....I gotta find her...this one chick also have her hair journey on here she wear wigs too her name is Mercy Gono
Her hair have grown so much she wear her own hair which is above her tail bone
She drinks the watermelon juice or puts it on her scalp?
And yes I’m subbed to Mercy Gono!
I HATE SHAE MOISTURIZE! Don’t use them
Félicitations, mais n'utilisez plus trop ce sèche cheveux
Wow you has growing really well! stop with the wigs that’s why your edges aren’t growing!!!
Thank you, I’m trying 😩😩
Shea Moisture SUCKS.
