- In tribute to a great songwriter we gathered a month after his passing to sing his songs. May 28, 1976, the Felt Forum, New York (thanks to Dave Doran on guitar and backing vocals, and Jay Woolfe on bass).
Excellent version of two of Phil Ochs great songs lve loved both artist for a mighty long time RIP Phil and rock on Melanie...
way back in the early eighties at the Eagle Mnt House in Jackson NH we hosted Melanie and as she left the stage I told her "we still love you", she gave me the biggest smile, gave me hope and............well
I don’t listen to many covers of Phil’s music, but your Chords of Fame is so haunting and beautiful. Love you, Melanie ♥️

I'm from Portugal. In the seventies, we were a "closed country", living under a right wing dictatorship until the revolution in 1974. In 1972, I have been in the Air Force and have been in Lajes Field Base, Azores. It was a Base of NATO in this portuguese territory where we had contact with the USA Air Forces (it was a mixed Portugal/USA Base).
Only at that time I've had contact with Melanie's music. And it has been "love at first sound"!!!
I still love your music and I still listen to it many, many times!!
Unfortunatly I don't find records from her music... so, I'm always searching for it here...

I was fortunate to hear Phil Ochs live (along with Ron Cobb of all people?!) with his beautiful voice and totally engaging performance but I only knew to go because I had heard Melanie sing chords of fame with the passion I always love about her…
What a powerful and beautiful voice. I've been listening to Melanie since I was a child in the 70s.
