Good vid, short and direct. Too often 10 min reviews are just repeated waffle. I've used wet coat for 4 years or so and you make a very good point about getting it on the front windscreen, not many others mention that.
@@HarpersCarDetailing I don't understand. It should work on all glass including the front windscreen. Gyeon WetCoat is also advertised as maintenance for your existing coating, which includes Gyeon Q2 View windscreen coating. I have Q2 View on all my windows btw, and only use Poorboys World EX-P Pure Sealand for the paint. I'm looking for an easy quick maintenance coat which works on all surfaces. WetCoat is advertised as perfect for that, so I'm surprised you say it's not good on the windscreen?
Just recently tried using Gyeon Wetcoat, method 1. Your method 2 makes a lot more sense and also a better coverage, and more economical. Going to use method 2 from no on.
Use like me guides hybrid ceramic wax. For initial application . Spray, wipe, buff a bit. So u don’t get wet marks and stuff. Maintenance, spray and rinse.
I have Gyeon Wet Coat on the way. You'll see in my other post I have Car Pro Hydr02 experience. My best experience comes from washing with an Si02 wash and then applying a spray Si02 coating on top and wiping it in. The car is extra shiny and so easy to clean this way.
Heres a tip for you all - Dont drop the bottle, have it land on your foot and roll down the driveway, losing half the damn product ! Seriously, the new style trigger sprayer does not screw on tight, or very far. I was left holding the trigger and saying goodbye to about $10 before i caught up with it ! :) Im talking about the smaller bottle obviously - Harper is buying bulk and using his own spray bottle ! EDIT: Gyeon got wind of my issue and replaced the bottle ! Now thats a company i can and will support !
I just used Q2M this afternoon - my first silicone spray of this type. I probably got through half the bottle (on an Audi A3) and thought it seemed like a pretty wasteful process. I will definitely be using the wet wash mitt application technique next time. Thanks for the demonstration 👌
I was the same when I first used it and found that it streaks when spraying and rinsing off. Applying by mitt allows for even coverage and is a lot more economical 👍🏼 Glad you enjoyed 👊🏼
@@HarpersCarDetailing I employed your technique yesterday washing my second car - great results, and probably used no more than 20% of the volume of product compared to my first drenching. Thanks again 👍
@@HarpersCarDetailing yes. Get that idea. For a lovely car. This product pressure washer in hand and a microfibre would really give a nice sheen. Shane pound per application much dearer
Great video 👍. I guess you are the only person who tried the second method that I always think about. But what if don't have pressure washer. I can use hose and normal wash gun which creates only little pressure.
After application and spraying off, what do you do about excess water? I've heard to let it cure for a few hours, do you wipe off excess water before cure time so it doesn't leave any spots?
@@HarpersCarDetailing Yay, so I have been doing it right! Always a good day when you find out you've done at least one thing in life correctly! Thank you :)
Thanks for the tips! Can I ask a question. I’ve regularly used the Meguiars hybrid ceramic wax spray and one application method was the same as yours, spray on and spread with a wet cloth. However, I found that it left a smeared coating when the car was dried. Have you had this result?
great tips! wont the mitt becomes hydrophobic if you apply it there? especially later the mitt will get contact with water which will activate the wet coat.
Thanks 👍🏼 Wet coat won’t make fabric hydrophobic but it will clog the mitt, so make sure you thoroughly rinse it out before washing it with other microfibres such as drying towels. It might be worth having a dedicated mitt for this 👍🏼
For the second method, does Wet Coat ruin the wash mitt? Can you still use the wash mitt for washing or does it need to be dedicated only that use now?
I just use a disposable paper Scott Towel "The quicker picker upper". I haven't used this product yet, but I have used lots of Car Pro Hydr02 and wiping gives you better coverage. With the spray method, it works better if you spray the water from the bottom up in horizontal passes as the water runs down and seems to dilute the product a bit when you go top to bottom.
Great video, nice and straightforward 👍🏻 One thing which no one mentions (maybe answers the question); does the spray have any negative effects on your mitt or will it just wash clean?
@@HarpersCarDetailing thanks 👍 another but last question. Should I use it as a finish product just after the Cancoat application? Or rather leave the Cancoat alone but in the next wash I should start maintaining with wet coat? Also is this juice(wetcoat) dilutable with distilled water to an easier application or not? :) Should I also buy a ceramic based quick detailer to my arsenal?
Cancoat needs to stay dry to cure, so you would use it after your next wash at the wet stage. The orange wet coat isn’t dilutable, but I know they have a wet coat that can be diluted
@@HarpersCarDetailing thanks again. Very informative. So I will leave the Cancoat alone to cure itself for a good time. And then after the next washes, use the wetcoat :) i have just subbed your channel.
I’ve never had a problem with judder from my wipers after using wet coat infact the complete exterior gets wet coat inc wheels and tyres, it’s probably the best performing and most economical out there
No that should be fine. Providing the window is clean and wet to start then it will work. Don’t apply to your front windscreen though as tends to make the wipers judder
İ used gyeon wetcoat on my windshield , and everytime i use my wipers, they leave gaze behind, and the evaporate after 3 seconds. But its so disturbing. How can i clean the wetcoat from whindshield?
Yeah you’re not suppose to use it on your windscreen 👍🏼 Either Carpro Ceriglass glass polish or any other polish you have. Labocostmeica Purifica works wonder as well. If not, fairy washing up liquid will be strong enough to help strip/clean; just rinse thoroughly
That's exactly what I do, no rinsing after application. More gloss and last longer. I have a bucket of water with rags to riches when I'm cleaning so everything goes in that and that way the towels and mitts stay good.
Short, straightforward and informative video. Thanks a lot!

How can you pressure wash the product off the roof without getting any on the windscreen?
Good question. Make sure you rinse from the front backwards, so it runs off the back 👍🏼
Can I use a high gloss spray on top of this maybe a week later just to keep the shiny look?
I would use the main protection underneath wet coat.
So wash, detail spray then on your next wash use wet coat 👍🏼
It might sound dumb, but have you every tried adding this to the wash water or soapy wash mitt? Kinda like Gyeon restart.
Doesn’t sounds dumb at all.
Gyeon have a product called Bathe+ that does exactly this 👍🏼
For the second method, does Wet Coat ruin the wash mitt? Can you still use the wash mitt for washing or does it need to be dedicated only that use now?

Only issue l see with the mitt method is more physical contact with the paint?
Agreed, but if the mitt is clean and wet then you shouldn’t have any problem. The paint is clean so there shouldn’t be an issue
If I apply the product to the windows, rinse, and then I dry/clean my windows, won't that remove the Wetcoat and its protection?
No that should be fine. Providing the window is clean and wet to start then it will work.
Don’t apply to your front windscreen though as tends to make the wipers judder
Is the wet and coat used to prevent water stains
The only way to stop water spotting is using demineralised water.
This product won’t help with that
What happens if you spray this product on and then buff like you would with a bottle of quick wax ??
Not to sure. It’s designed to be a spray on rinse off which is a lot easy than buffing.
Also less contact so less risk of marring the finish
How long does this coating last on a car in Canadian winter climate?
I’m not familiar of the Canadian climate, but at least 1-2 months I would imagine 👍🏼
Can it be used on black plastic trim?
I haven’t had issues.
I would spray it on the panel and it will run off over the plastic trim 👍🏼
The gallon is concentrated, diluite ?
This particular product isn’t, but you can dilute Koch Chemie Protector Wax which is what I now use
Does the mitt have to be wet or is it dry?
Always wet. Aids lubrication which will help prevent marring

How long does it last? How often i have to use it
2-3 months.
I would pop up monthly as doesn’t take to long
More like 1month/ 4wash/1000-1500km on daily drivers
If I can use it with water. Why don't I just add 1 oz and a less than half of a bucket of water and wipe it around the vehicle I think
I use two sprays per panel and that's more than enough to get the hydrophobic effects. five sprays per panel is overkill
I’m glad that works for you 👍🏼
