I also use this and find it really good and durable. Re-applying once every 3 months. Personally i lightly spray over a panel, then use a really wet microfibre to lightly rub the whole panel. Then jetwash off. Gives perfect coverage to all areas.
@@tonyhill1916 where? This what they say on their site: "Use Q²M WetCoat only on a wet surface and cool panel. Never use the product in direct sunlight. Don’t wait for the product to dwell or react - the reaction happens while you rinse it. Do not spread it with mitts or towels, this is not necessary."
Its a great product for sure, used it for winter maintenance for over 2 years, wash with Bathe + and apply wet coat on top for extra protection. I prefer to spray onto a wet clean microfibre wash mitt and wipe it on, you can also put a small cap full of bathe + onto a wet mitt , wipe and rinse that on also, does the same thing. 👍👍
I've just come in from washing the car and seen this. I used wet coat but totally different method, I have a damp micro fibre towel and spritz into it. I then wipe a panel that I've rinsed then dry. I've been doing this for a while and I believe I get better coverage and it last longer.
Today i use the Wet Coat. I never used spray and rinse sealant. I have used and as drying aid Sonax BSD, Turtle Wax Seal and Shine Sealant and the Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray Coating. All of them and as drying aids leave streaks.....With the Wet Coat after the apply and the rinse i had not any streak. The gloss is amazing. Maybe the Sonax BSD has this gloss. My glasses in the car first time were so clean. The paint is slick. I dry the car with a CarPro Microfiber Towel and the dyring was very very easy and again without Streaks! I do not know about self cleaning properties. I have not ceramic coat. I know that with one pass with the Wet Coat i have gloss, water beading and no streaks. I do not know about its durability. But i know that i do not get tired in order to wash my car and to apply and a sealant most times with streaks and extra buffing. The price for 500ml is a bit high. But i do not spent time to buff the streaks!! Sonax, Meguiars, Turtle Wax has excellent spray sealant. This is very comfortable for me.
It would be interesting to compare wetcoat essence to wetcoat. According to Gyeon Essence is a completely different chemical makeup in addition to being dilute-able. They supposedly behave identically but suspect there must be some difference if the chemistry is not the same. We have to import essence in the US as not sold here for some reason.
I love and use this product too. I use primarily on my wheels but if I am doing maintenance wash and stuck for time, I hit the panels with it. I think like all products, it comes down to using it correctly and not over doing it. Great video Jon.
@@SHODUUP Holds up pretty good. Where it turns up is when you do next wash. Clean up is really easy. It keeps brake dust and road grime from sticking to your wheels. My wheels are painted and clear coated, so it prevents any fading or oxidation. Just my experience of course, everyone will experience it differently I’m sure. Hope this helps.
I love wet coat!! I have found if you spray from the bottom up it helps to even out the protection. I also use it on the windows as I haven't ever had a problem with that. At first I tried to keep it away from glass but then I realized as I was spraying it off the car it was inevitably going across the glass anyway. Now when I drive I don't even need windshield wipers it's really that good!!
I have a highly polished and coated black car that I prewash with Gyeon Foam and contact wash with Bathe+ every week. This regimen has worked well in maintaining good gloss and hydrophobicity. On my last wash, I experimented with increasing the concentration of Bathe+ by 50% and adding Wet Coat after the rinse. The result was striking, with the gloss and hydrophobicity levels significantly higher than before. Thanks for showcasing these great products, Jon.
I use Wet Coat in some capacity everyday. I purchase the Essence and I mix it typically 8:1 with distilled water which is what the bottle of Wet Coat comes as. Fantastic product.
Living up north, I find these products on a daily car that's kept outside only last a 6 - 8 weeks at best, that's using a quality shampoo et, etc, etc and following the instructions meticulously.
I finally managed to try this at the weekend but in the wind there was no chance I could spray it on directly so I sprayed onto a damp wash mitt and went over the entire panel then rinsed off. Impressive
@@OraEtLabora0 When you are rinsing your car you spray wet coat into the water jet. That way the product spreads evenly. Best to use a short lance for this.
Big fan of Wet Coat & I use it exclusively on my Stinger due to how it behaves on top of CanCoat. It's fantastic stuff & the self cleaning properties are definitely noticeable. TW rinse & dry is also excellent stuff as you say Jon & I use it on everybody else's car but it doesn't have that same self cleaning effect that wet coat has making it unique.
I've just put CanCoat on my new car, topped with Xtreme Solutions Topper, but I've used Wet Coat as a quick spray on product on top of several different coatings and it's been brilliant.
Agree. Legendary product up there with the greats. Try Essence it’s fatastic and Gyeon suggest diffrent concentrations to try (if you’re super tight). Gyeon undersell its durability. Does add gloss and loads of slickness. Awesome on wheels. Gyeon are top draw 👌
Wetcoat is one of my favourite products to use. Only thing I do is spray on spread around panel with damp microfibre wash mitt then rinse straight after. Just gives that even spread over the entire panel. Use it on my wheels as-well to make drying them a lot easier.
I’ve recently found a good hack for this , dilute it 5-1 in a spray bottle and use as a detailer it’s amazing for a topper and deep gloss ( my car is dark grey ) no issue’s at all and you can drive in the rain and the car still looks clean it’s really good ! Honestly try it
This is an awesome product that I bought for my JCW that I had ceramic coated then sold 2 weeks later. I predominately use now for plastic wheel arches and alloys with great effect as I am a wax man for bodywork. Another method of application is to spray it into the power washer jet as you rinse the car and spraying onto the car and spreading before rinsing.
I absolutely love this stuff Jon and for the type of product it is I think it’s arguably the best on the market. The only thing I do slightly differently than you did in the vid is I spray it over the entire car first which takes around 30 seconds or so then starting with the spray gun start at the same point as the wet coat and rinse off. I really do think the dwell time is key. That said in summer I’ll probably do half the car then rinse before doing the other half.
I was using wet coat before your test video of similar products. Ever since then I’ve never tried a new one out, love the stuff to. Many use it on wheels summer/winter. Usually as it starts to get warmer and I don’t have an shade, I do use the Gyeon ceramic detailer on the paint instead and work in smaller areas. Thanks Jon
I'm a big fan of the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax, I love the beads that stuff makes and have never had a problem with application. I like to use it after every wash though so the price is starting to frustrate me now. I think I'll give this Gyeon Wet Coat a try, hopefully it'll live up to my expectations.
Love this product Jon , I have applied as you did and also sprayed on and wiped over with a damp microfiber primed with it ..either way gives great results . For the price difference I always purchase the 1 litre bottle . Not tried the concentrate personally .
I recommend using the essence and dispensing from a flairosol bottle. You'll never go back to using a regular bottle and you can pretty much fly around a vehicle.
Thanks for the tip on the flairosol bottle. Seems like that would be a good bottle inside a garage, but maybe not outside?? Looks like the mist would fly away with the slightest breeze. Yes?
@@ChannelBri I don't really find that to be the case but I guess you could just get it a little closer to the panel. IMO the flairosol bottles just atomize things smaller and more evenly, but it's not so small that it just ups and blows away entirely if that makes sense.
Good product. Also love Nanolex Sisplash. In the summertime my method is to do deep cleaning with non coating shampoo, de-iron, tar remover etc. and then apply Wetcoat to the pristine surface. Then upkeep with Gyeon Bathe+ until it’s time to do another deep clean.
Sitting in bed with covid and had to cancel all my appointments next week, this has given me a chance to order some products I've not used before , it does look pretty impressive stuff
Always on my shelf for when I'm up against it or can't be arsed. Best and most cost effective method is to spread it with a wet microfibre. With these type of products I rinse from the bottom up then top down, I feel it doesn't rinse off the product as you push it upwards maximising the product. Top with Gyeon Ceramic detailer and maintain with Bath+ shampoo delivered through lance application.
I agree on the Gyeon products work, but the only thing i dislike is the sprayer and i have swapped out for a so called chemical resistant sprayer from Meguiars product range. And the difference is noticable and would reccomend for products like Glass or Prep. Try change the sprayer for a better one and you will be amazed more!
Yes the triggers are ok but like there are better triggers I get done videos on this get some tolco big blasters with 4 ml chambers in ik sprayer bottle
I saw someone saying that a good way to apply these wetcoat products is to spray them in the waterstream. But am a bit sceptical about this method. But will test it when my bottle arrives.
Good video Jon. Just looked up the essence, £35 for 250ml and can be used as far up as 1:15 which makes the cost per 1L amazing, even of you went in at 1:10 it's cracking value.
Auto Finesse Lavish Ceramic foam is far superior to this product. Just a concentrated snow foam so very easy to apply post-wash and up to 6 months’ protection (3 months in the real world). Would like to see this get formally reviewed on the channel!
Great stuff , can go round whole car in cool/winter weather , panel at a time in summer and yes you get the white residue when you have used too much , you could have done to half squirts on boot lid and pushed it across and cover it in one go
I'm looking forward to trying this stuff soon. I just purchased Gyeon MOHS to put onto my daily driver and once it's set, I'm going to use this as a topper. Should give me great results :)
Same here. I think John needs to do a comparison. Great video it would be. I think the Bilt Hamber Touch On, can win this. But then again it’s due for 4 weeks.
Tried this after watching your first review of it but it just didn't do it for me. Couldn't see any sign of self cleaning, poor durability and a bit if a faff to apply compared to a foam lance applied sealant like AutoGlym's Polar Seal which are so quick and effective which also had (for me better durability) but It's easy to apply after every wash though I knock down the dilution ratio bit (3 capfuls to 300ml water instead of the recommend 4 capfuls to 200ml) after the first application as that's where they score for me - getting the car done quickly when it's too cold to be hanging around. I've relegated it to use on the wheels now until it's gone. Still it's all in the fun of trying out different products now and again. Thanks for the videos - looking forward to seeing the 996 C4S being done at some point. It's overdue a bit of love. 😃👍🏾
Love this product, only thing I would tweak with your method is using an applicator pad to apply the product that way you know all the surface has been coated
Big fan of these types of products. I have tried a few and now favour Feynlab Touchless Ceramic. £72/L but dilutes 10:1 and you need very little per application.
Been using this product for a while now since your first test results and I love the simplicity of it. Still can’t get away from yumcars detailer and ceramic think there really good, but I’m still holding out for you to review these to give me doubts…. The main focus for me in this video, is what on the floor, some sort of mini pressure washer. 😮link please👍🏻
I like the product. I’ve been spraying it on and rinsing bottom up. I still need to spraying on a damp microfibre or mitt, spread then rinse. I’ll try it next wash.
Great video. I am super lazy and was hoping this product was self drying (no towel needed)...as the instructions seem to suggest. If i really want to rinse and leave (i know you will insist ;)) would you still recommend this product or another?
I bought a bottle of this when this video first dropped but only got round to using it this past weekend. The hydrophobicity is off the scales. I tend to be loyal to products so it's unlikely I'll be trying other similar products but if there is a better product I would love to know about it!!
Love using spray coatings. I use Carpro Hydro2 and it really is bang on. Bloody expenssive though and tends to use on wheels mainly. Also when it's windy, you waste so much.
Hi Jon, i have a tip for a another option of apply this product. i spray the product directly into the water stream from the pressure washer (it saves even more product), and this way is saver + better when the sun is shining, so can nothing dry on the surface, by my black 996.😉 you can try that too.😊 sorry for my english, google helps me by the translation. best regards from Germany Jeff
One of the best silica spray sealants I’ve used as well a fireball easy coat extra which I buy concentrate makes drying a car so much easier & quicker can streak if not used correctly but well worth the money I buy 5 litres at a time as a mobile detailer,
Gyoen wet coat is good, but there are at least 10 competitors that are at least as good or even better. For example. You have Tershine Amplify which is completely non-toxic as well as Purest Quick Coat. These are manufactured in Sweden. Purest is also available in Us. Yesterday I tried a new brand wet coat from the Octogloss that was made to cope with the harsher climate we have in northern Sweden and it is almost as good as Gyeon. There are also some Italian brands that are just as good. Check in sometimes because I think you make good videos. Good luck in the future with your content
Heard so much good stuff so it's nice to see it in action. Do I remember right that it is happy on top of different types of LSP? I have HydrO2 Lite which is use on my wheels after washing and it always makes me smile to watch them go instantly hydrophobic.
Yup. Useful videos. Been watching you for min min 2/3 years seam to have missed all the spray wax and rinse videos !!! Value per wash my desire so will try KC PW first.
Good self cleaning, i like the idea of that. Since I work next door to an asphalt production plant, you can imagine conditions in our staff parking lot are hell on my paint. Wonder if this would help fight off the weekly dose of bonded contaminants?
I love it too. jon I have a 4 year old black car I clay compound every year, but now I plan to stop to save the clear coat. despite good cleaning methods I just can't keep swirls off the paint especially very fine tiny ones I think mostly come from towel drying with Korean mico. I think I need to use a hard ceramic to help any thoughts on this, use blower..etc
Great demo.2 questions : if not ceramic ,what is it? For mntnce( especially winter) i get it but come spring i want to decon / polish then a tougher coating how hard is it to remove? Define self cleaning.thanks much.
The one from AUTOGLYM coat it is easy to use and lasts long, great on windows aswell. Just put it in snow foam gun cover car then rinse very quick !!!!
I think carpro hydro foam beats the autoglym polar seal, the Koch Chemie protector wax is also a nice foam Canon applied one, what I really like about the video is the gyeon wet coat ability to reapply and seal if you miss spots, what's really missing now is an updated gloss ranking of all these types of products
Hi Jon! Great vid! You mentioned that you got better results when the panel wasn’t too wet. Is it possible to spray or wipe it on dry and then wash it off quickly to ensure the best adhesion? Thanks. Brian.
There’s a great video from AutocareHQ on the best way to get the most durability out of Wet Coat in application. It’s probably the best alternative to TW spray on sealants now that they have kind fucked it up with the new range. It’s confusing and doesn’t appear to be as good as the previous range.
I also recently tried this and was impressed. I wonder if I can also use detail spray as a drying agent while I towel dry? That was my method for years, but concerned a detail spray may not mesh with the Wet Coat.. Thoughts?
Use gyeon quick detailer (or the ceramic version) if that is what you are after. This product need to properly rinsed after to work and probably will be a pain buff off anway. I use wet coat for my wheels and turtle wax 3 in 1 detailer for my drying aid.
@@boomdaus my concern was combining Wet Coat with a Detail Spray. Worried the two would not mix. If I used Wet Coat, rinsed, then sprayed Detail Spray as I towel dry.
Have always found it hard to look past Koch Chemie Protector Wax personally, so easy to use in a lance. I do like Gyeon stuff though, quality products.
So far I've tried carpro hydrofoam and Koch Chemie Nano magic shampoo + protector wax, I'd say the carpro is better than the protector wax, I would love for you to do it a head to head against wet coat, carpro hydrofoam and protector wax
Have you tried Infinity Wax Synergy Boost yet ? Been using Wetcoat for years now but thought I’d give Synergy a go as it’s snow foam lanced applied and maybe works out cheaper in the long run and very easy to apply if it’s got the same level of performance as WetCoat
I wonder if this product can be diluted. To get even coverage, it seem like you have to use a lot. Currently, I use this at every wash but just keep an eye out for less hydrophobic areas while I am doing the initial rinse, make a mental note and hit those areas directly. (The wet towel method is great, but I'd probably just go with a straight ceramic detailer for that.)
Question:- After applying this product and drying it off could you apply the quick detailing spray over the top. Would this improve the look and the durability?
@ForensicDetailing ah, I too have been thinking of using the gyeon wet coat then topping with dream maker (on a ceramic coated car). Not worth it then? Just use one or the other, but not both?
yes mate it can be used that way although it will bond better to bare bone prep or a ceramic perhaps (guessing) but Ive used it on top of paste waxes lots of times.
Hey Jon , you should try using a di system to take out the hard water when rinsing off or even when pressure washing , i just got one for when I clean my v class, I rinse it off with and use it through the preasure washer and there’s no water spots whatsoever
I also use this and find it really good and durable. Re-applying once every 3 months. Personally i lightly spray over a panel, then use a really wet microfibre to lightly rub the whole panel. Then jetwash off. Gives perfect coverage to all areas.

This product is nuts I must agree.. ordering a huge bottle this spring !
I really like the product. No streaking issues, and lasted well
You actually make things easy. I have learnt loads from you
Big fan of these types of products. I have tried a few and now favour Feynlab Touchless Ceramic. £72/L but dilutes 10:1 and you need very little per application.
Been using this for years. Use the concentrate for best value. I spray then use a microfibre to move the water around before rinsing with 0ppe.
I Use it for glass and rims . it's a fantastic product . everyone should have it in their arsenal ...
I use this for my wheels and lower sills as a top up during winter washes, I have adams advanced grapheme coating on car
I love wax planet shell shock and bouncers bead juice as a spray and rinse. Not used wet coat for a long time I’ll have to try it again.
do you still have it?
I like the product. I’ve been spraying it on and rinsing bottom up. I still need to spraying on a damp microfibre or mitt, spread then rinse. I’ll try it next wash.
I love this stuff. Made my own video on it too.
I use it roughly every 3-6 months and wait for it to rain.
Thanks for clearing that up, I've not been buffing it in with a drying towel, that film leaves an awful mess otherwise
Great video. I use the Bathe+ from Gyeon to wash first. A first class product too.
Hi Jon,
i have a tip for a another option of apply this product.
i spray the product directly into the water stream from the pressure washer (it saves even more product), and this way is saver + better when the sun is shining, so can nothing dry on the surface, by my black 996.😉
you can try that too.😊
sorry for my english, google helps me by the translation.
best regards from Germany
Jeff
I thought you weren't allowed to wash your own car in Germany due to the laws about chemicals going down the drains.
@@chriswebster3197
Hi Chris,
in some communities this is allowed.
and we have car washes box too😉
One of the best silica spray sealants I’ve used as well a fireball easy coat extra which I buy concentrate makes drying a car so much easier & quicker can streak if not used correctly but well worth the money I buy 5 litres at a time as a mobile detailer,
NEVER TRIED THIS BEFORE 😀😀SEEING YOUR RESULTS LOOKS REALLY GOOD 👍👍WILL GIVE IT A TRY 👍😀👍
It’s a great product though I do spread it over the panel with a cheap wash mit seems to stop it from being blotchy and uneven. Thanks John
They don't have the self cleaning of wet coat. Most other ones are just siloxane based. See my best spray and rinse comparison video
Heard so much good stuff so it's nice to see it in action. Do I remember right that it is happy on top of different types of LSP? I have HydrO2 Lite which is use on my wheels after washing and it always makes me smile to watch them go instantly hydrophobic.
have both of them, though never tried combos.
if you want WetCoat, i have about 1l for sale, in it's original 4l bottle.
@@OraEtLabora0 which do you prefer
Yup. Useful videos. Been watching you for min min 2/3 years seam to have missed all the spray wax and rinse videos !!! Value per wash my desire so will try KC PW first.
For the commentors using the wet microfiber method, wouldn't using a ceramic detailer or drying aid generally be better?
Good self cleaning, i like the idea of that. Since I work next door to an asphalt production plant, you can imagine conditions in our staff parking lot are hell on my paint. Wonder if this would help fight off the weekly dose of bonded contaminants?
Should help m8
I love it too. jon I have a 4 year old black car I clay compound every year, but now I plan to stop to save the clear coat. despite good cleaning methods I just can't keep swirls off the paint especially very fine tiny ones I think mostly come from towel drying with Korean mico. I think I need to use a hard ceramic to help any thoughts on this, use blower..etc
Always learn a lot from your videos. I'm a data nerd and love the high level of detail. Do you have thoughts about Gyeon Wet Coat vs Carpro Hydro2?
Great demo.2 questions : if not ceramic ,what is it? For mntnce( especially winter) i get it but come spring i want to decon / polish then a tougher coating how hard is it to remove? Define self cleaning.thanks much.
I have 2x5L jugs in the garage 🤣, love it as a quick topper. Have a smaller concentrated bottle as well.
Good looking product, can it be used over a ceramic coating and over ppf?
yes m8
Thanks. Brian.
i think you risk streaking mate. but you could maybe experiment and water some down.
@@ForensicDetailing cool thanks. 👍
I use wet coat on my wheels and front grill.
There’s a great video from AutocareHQ on the best way to get the most durability out of Wet Coat in application.
It’s probably the best alternative to TW spray on sealants now that they have kind fucked it up with the new range. It’s confusing and doesn’t appear to be as good as the previous range.
Have you tried the Labocosmetica Beneficia? It’s their version of a spray and seal product
I wonder if you can run this over something like Soft99 Fusso Coat. Just as a topper.
Yes
I imagine Wet Coat and CarPro's HydrO2 Lite are quite comparable. I wouldn't mind a video on that.
Ps I have fusso coat on as a base coat once a year that I applied after watching your Channel
Would that work as a stand alone product or will only work if the car has had a proper ceramic coating first?
i only used it as stand-alone. expect 3-4m in UK weather.
i have about 1l for sale, in it's orig 4l bottle.
Be interested to see how you think Infinity Wax Synergy Boost compares… I love wet coat but I’ve got a bottle of synergy to try next
Have you tried Infinity Wax Synergy Boost yet ? Been using Wetcoat for years now but thought I’d give Synergy a go as it’s snow foam lanced applied and maybe works out cheaper in the long run and very easy to apply if it’s got the same level of performance as WetCoat
love to see you test review the autobrite direct ceramic magiseal !! love to see it tested, I use it but have my doubts about it ,
Think it's pretty decent
I wonder if this product can be diluted. To get even coverage, it seem like you have to use a lot.
Currently, I use this at every wash but just keep an eye out for less hydrophobic areas while I am doing the initial rinse, make a mental note and hit those areas directly.
(The wet towel method is great, but I'd probably just go with a straight ceramic detailer for that.)
Question:- After applying this product and drying it off could you apply the quick detailing spray over the top. Would this improve the look and the durability?
no need to mate but you could if you wanted to. it wont boost gloss or help with durability really.
@ForensicDetailing ah, I too have been thinking of using the gyeon wet coat then topping with dream maker (on a ceramic coated car).
Not worth it then? Just use one or the other, but not both?
Looks a good product. Would it work the same on top of a paste wax as part of a maintenance wash?
yes mate it can be used that way although it will bond better to bare bone prep or a ceramic perhaps (guessing) but Ive used it on top of paste waxes lots of times.
14:24 🤣 14:49 the MASTER of one-takes! 👏
RIP Turtle Wax Dry & Shine. Gone but not forgotten.
Hey Jon , you should try using a di system to take out the hard water when rinsing off or even when pressure washing , i just got one for when I clean my v class, I rinse it off with and use it through the preasure washer and there’s no water spots whatsoever
i realise here mate my water is not that bad. other places near me it can be a lot worse. but I really dont think I need it.
@@ForensicDetailing hey Jon quick question , I’ve tried using maguirs ultimate wax but it won’t haze what am I doing wrong
Essence is unreal use it all the time top tier
Hello from USA. Love your channel Jon, even though every time you cost me something lol.
