I got this with black friday deals only because I've heard this changes. Were the game stayed the same i Would have waited longer for a better deal but this makes it appealing at the current price tag. So yeah, good idea doing this
I do agree that companies should give us good and complete games. But I also believe that if they show interest in fixing their mistakes, well, they deserve a second chance. No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 are great examples of that. It's just a matter of publishers giving developers the time they need!
Stop buying games at launch! If we keep buying the unfinished games, publishers won't allow for games release dates to be pushed back, and finish the games. It sucks that we've reached this point, but it's not that hard to save the money and buy later, after reviews are out. Nintendo for example, as much as it sucks not seeing their games' prices drop, at least you know that their games are always launched as a finished product.
I agree with Josh, I would rather that studios did more closed betas among different groups of people in later stages of development and make needed changes prior to release. Then posy launch, concentrate bug fixes and not fundemental changes.
Thing is the likes of splinter cell are well known stealth games. That’s a big part of their selling point. I love splinter cell and wish a new one would be made. But something with “outlaws” in its title should not be forcing you into stealth ever because that’s not what a badass real outlaw would do. There’s very little in that game that actually lets you do stuff an outlaw would do.
@@cpaulc089 what? Seriously? Han Solo spent a good chunk of ESB hiding himself AND the entire ship! The biggest part of being an outlaw is *not getting caught*, after all; avoiding being seen is one of the most important ways to do that.
Padding in games through story, stealth, crafting and grind… are not art. Claiming that forced tedium is art, is dystopian/Orwellian. Edit: it’s all sawdust and straw. It’s maltodextrin and cellulose (more sawdust) in your food products. Story, Stealth, Crafting and Grind are the air in your potato chip bag.
I might have to buy it after these updates, I didn’t like the forced stealth or the fact that you don’t carry guns. To see that they fixed it, might have to give them my money
Ubi puts all their games on sale for half off less than two months after release. They will do everything in their power to kill their own day one sales numbers
the comment about artistry is completely amiss - the aaa games are made to be sold in massive numbers to the weirdest possible audience. it's commissioned work by design.
Things I would like them to add is special bounties or wrld events like Rampaging Rancor on Tatooine or a higher Wanted level with an Inquisitor sent to bring you down and free fire on the speeder. Lastly I would like crafting on the ship for weapons with bonuses to higher ammo count to weapons so you can take one with you instead of just drops from enemies.
I'm absolutely terrible at stealth, so the old "it's still stealth if no-one is alive to talk about it" method is good for me. and I do like some of the changes they've made (though please for the love of God add the ability to switch the analog controls around without having to go "defaultleft handed southpaw" when going from on foot to the ship, just to reverse only those two controls), but I enjoyed the game and still return to it to do some contracts and walk around in case I happen upon some intel.
About Josh's comment about being OK with it if they call it Early Access and still charge full price...I mean there's a reason people are starting to call the practice "paying to beta test." Outlaws itself fell victim to this: pay to play early, and you couldn't, because the game wasn't in a viable state. It's becoming the new expected process of development: release it early, and put out a roadmap with an obligatory "We hear you" Supporting the game after launch and finishing the game after launch are two very different things. Cyberpunk, No Man's Sky, even A Realm Reborn are examples of how fixing/overhauling a game after launch can be successful, and developers or, more likely, publishers, are starting to get cozy to that idea.
_"The 1.0 release is just a point on the roadmap"_ - Gary Whitta, Kinda Funny Podcast, May 2023 NOBODY batted and eyelid or questioned this, yet we're somehow surprised by games like Outlaws? ... maybe the media should do their job and start grilling people when they say stuff like this instead of ignoring and accepting it 🤷 ... just a thought.
Artists don't ask for opinions and they live or die by that, however this is not "art", it is a objectively weak experience with horrific AI and poor stealth elements and for that they should absolutely be tweaking this game.
As a consumer who hasn’t played the game yet this update has reinvigorated my interest in outlaws. As the hype from Sparking Zero is pretty much dead at this point, I realized I’m not really playing it anymore. I’m waiting for the physical release of Black Myth so why not trade in sparking to try the improved version of outlaws in the mean time🤷🏾♂️
I loved the game pre overhaul. The only real issue I had was Kay's voice actor not being convincing enough conveying her insecurity to confident character arc
I’m enjoying the new patch but changing the whistling mechanic is a mistake I think. Forced stealth isn’t good but the change is making stealth all but impracticable
There's too little consideration for the artistry in video game production today i think. The decision here was mostly business. And they only allowed this to happen cause we do. We might have to stop buying games day one and if you're still pre-ordering AAA titles....what are you doing?
They should have just done a Mandalorian game. They wouldn't have needed to change all that much from what they ended up making. With a mandalorian there's a ton of upgrades that could be a part of the game mechanics. Armor, weapons, tools, ship, all could have been upgradeable. Start off as a bounty hunter, going around a small group of planets hunting down your targets and then some big event happens which sends you all through the galaxy. To go deeper into the galaxy you need upgrades and money which requires you to do jobs and favors for the people you meet. Could have been something great.
I played 4/5 hours of outlaws then got bored. I tell you now though I would have played the hell out of your suggestion here for days. This sounds a lot more enjoyable idea than outlaws was.
@cpaulc089 Just having a kick ass main character would have given the game a huge push in the right direction. I've got no problem playing female characters, but she was just boring. A bad ass mandalorian with beskar armor, a beskar spear, flame thrower, grapple claw, jet pack, and a range of different blasters? Yeah, way fuckin better.
The problem is the disappointment was so bad perhaps if the game wasn't 70 dollars anyways a lot of people probably won't return i might get it if it's on sale. It was the star wars version of anthem It might be not Worth fixing up in the first place they can just create a 2nd one and delay it if you have to just make sure it's in excellent condition before releasing it.
No one "demanded " Ubisoft make changes to the game. They took it upon themselves because of soft sales and more likely the devs are trying to fulfill their vision of the game that was not realized because of time constraints. And using ME3s finale as your example of sticking with your artistic vision? Really? People were upset (and rightly) because the original ending was insulting. It didn't attempt to tie up so many loose ends that it was obvious there was no vision. They just wanted it to end. By your very own logic, EA should have kept loot boxes in Star Wars Battlefront because that was the game they wanted to make.
The game would def benefit from having customization options for other weapons. If not that then every enemy should drop their gun after a fight to give the player some options. What sort of outlaw only has one weapon proficiency? Let’s not forget Hans pistol was basically a modified rifle without the stock, Kay’s blaster is far from that.
Ubisoft seems to constantly overestimating sales and getting more and desperate to meet those sales. I am a huge SW fan and did not buy right away because their pricing scale is ridiculous. Every game is released unfinished so why pay full price for an incomplete game.
8:02 aight, ok, well, keep that mentality and see how all these games keep flopping. In the end, you have to make something gamers WANT to play, you can totally ignore what gamers want, but then don't complain when the game flops.
I totally disagree with you guys. Is this ubisoft? When you bought a ubisoft game, you knew that if it was broken or not good, they would patch it. It's like you forgot the whole ps4 and Xbox One era. People complained about division having tanky enemies, and the bugs. They fixed it all and took those ideas into division 2. They are still working on division 2 expansion because they have been hard at work with the engine. For honor was broken and not working. They changed it to be better across the board. Don't even get me started about rainbow six siege. Ubisoft used to fix their games and always made them better. Your memory loss makes you not realize that ubisoft would change games for the better. Changing full on gameplay and only day one players would know these changes.
Nothing about this game ever looked great, but I always planned to try it... When it is available on a platform I want to own it on, and not ridiculously overpriced... It is finally released on Steam, but it is STILL ~53€ for the fucking base version of the game, on a sale!... Wtf are they smoking at Ubisoft?
RE: Mass Effect 3 You were right the first time. You were right to demand changes, and the ending did and does suck. YOU are the customer. YOU paid for the game. At $60+ dollars, it certainly wasn't the EA and Bioware's _gift_ to you. They compromised their "artistic integrity" the moment they decided to market their AAA game to the public for profit. In artistic terms, they created a "commissioned work" and the patron is still always right in matters of taste. Your mistake was you let EA gaslight you, and their bad behavior set a horrible precedent for the entire entertainment industry.
I will give it a shot after the next update is implemented. I pre ordered cyberpunk and had to wait a full year before being able to play it properly and I loved the properly patched product.

Love Star Wars Outlaws! It's my pick for GOTY. There's nothing better than sneaking through those Imperial bases.
Looking forward to all the games we will repeat this conversation with after the VGA's in a few weeks.
dont sell the game full price if the game isnt even finished yet
I agree with Josh, I would rather that studios did more closed betas among different groups of people in later stages of development and make needed changes prior to release. Then posy launch, concentrate bug fixes and not fundemental changes.
What kind of game review channel criticises a company for trying to fix a largely disappointing game 🤷 used to like whatculturegaming 😕
Players that don’t like forced stealth games would hate games like MGS or Splinter Cell
I came here to invoke Sam Fisher and Solid Snake, but I knew someone else would beat me there...thank you.
@ np.
Forced Stealth games aren’t boring games unlike most games they require a bit of logical and tactical thinking.
So you want them to leave it broken?
I would rather devs put the time in to fix it vs just abandoning it.
Agreed 💯
They should wait with release until it’s finished
Disney had to have threatened them. Because we all know from our years of gaming that Ubisoft wouldn't do this of their own free will.
I dont even get excuted about game launches because it will be better and cheaper in a year
Padding in games through story, stealth, crafting and grind… are not art. Claiming that forced tedium is art, is dystopian/Orwellian.
Edit: it’s all sawdust and straw. It’s maltodextrin and cellulose (more sawdust) in your food products. Story, Stealth, Crafting and Grind are the air in your potato chip bag.
Put games in the freaking discs.
I might have to buy it after these updates, I didn’t like the forced stealth or the fact that you don’t carry guns. To see that they fixed it, might have to give them my money
Ubi puts all their games on sale for half off less than two months after release. They will do everything in their power to kill their own day one sales numbers
Starwars ourlaws is the Sonic the Headhog CGI model of gaming
sorta like Starfield and Cyberpunk... now the "give it a year" crowd are winning, for sure!
I am a person who stayed away, but the Division games are some of my favorites so actually, this does start to peak my interest
We’re all just paying to be play testers.
Game peaked at 2492 players on steam 😂
Can’t wait to play this game when the price is 50 or 60% off 😅
the comment about artistry is completely amiss - the aaa games are made to be sold in massive numbers to the weirdest possible audience. it's commissioned work by design.
It was known way b4 this games release that the original creative director was leaving post launch to go work on the Div 3
Might get it on a steam sale
I'm absolutely terrible at stealth, so the old "it's still stealth if no-one is alive to talk about it" method is good for me. and I do like some of the changes they've made (though please for the love of God add the ability to switch the analog controls around without having to go "defaultleft handed southpaw" when going from on foot to the ship, just to reverse only those two controls), but I enjoyed the game and still return to it to do some contracts and walk around in case I happen upon some intel.
If Outlaws would lean more on the looter shooter / third person shooter style. I'll be more than happy to spend my money on it.
About Josh's comment about being OK with it if they call it Early Access and still charge full price...I mean there's a reason people are starting to call the practice "paying to beta test." Outlaws itself fell victim to this: pay to play early, and you couldn't, because the game wasn't in a viable state. It's becoming the new expected process of development: release it early, and put out a roadmap with an obligatory "We hear you"
Supporting the game after launch and finishing the game after launch are two very different things. Cyberpunk, No Man's Sky, even A Realm Reborn are examples of how fixing/overhauling a game after launch can be successful, and developers or, more likely, publishers, are starting to get cozy to that idea.
Hopefully the foolish concept of a 120 lb. woman knocking out a trooper with a punch to the helmet has been rectified.
Stfu. That’s so ignorant. It’s a game. Like anything in these games are realistic. People like you need to go back to school.
Maybe she knows martial arts.
@@TravisLee33how does knowing martial arts magically ignore someone wearing armor, weighing more and likely being stronger than you?
_"The 1.0 release is just a point on the roadmap"_ - Gary Whitta, Kinda Funny Podcast, May 2023
NOBODY batted and eyelid or questioned this, yet we're somehow surprised by games like Outlaws? ... maybe the media should do their job and start grilling people when they say stuff like this instead of ignoring and accepting it 🤷 ... just a thought.
These change totally put the game on my radar now.
Well do not mix up the term art with gameplay mechanics, two different things but yes should have been done before release.
I just went back to it today because of the patch. I imagine a lot of people will pick it up on black Friday sale
I’m waiting for the physical release of Black Myth so why not trade in sparking to try the improved version of outlaws in the mean time🤷🏾♂️
No ma'am's sky
So there giving you the basics that every game should have anyways. What a croc!
I loved the game pre overhaul. The only real issue I had was Kay's voice actor not being convincing enough conveying her insecurity to confident character arc
They can’t patch an underwhelming story.
I don't buy new games anymore, I'll wait about a year after lunch and the pick it up for $20 bucks.
The last Ubisoft game I bought at launch was AC Unity. Look how that went for me.
This is why you don't buy Ubisoft games day1. The fools that did are basically working as QA testers for free.
Maybe they can fix her face
Good to see UbiSlops Q&A Department are Up to Par 👌
The new creative director had this position for three weeks before the patch released? I wonder for how much of the changes he's actually responsible.
As a starwars fan who just wants a fun game I'm happy and would consider getting it now
Unfinished games should never be released in the first place
Got this on Black Friday deal for less than 30 dollars. Gonna give it a go.
Wtf are they smoking at Ubisoft?
star wars is an expensive license
its really simple, stop pre purchasing.
Damage has already been done!
I'll definitely pick this up for $5 when it's finished in 5 years!
I am more likely to buy this now.
Star wars needs to drop the rebel-empire canon stuff, go fresh, new locales, new timeline
RE: Mass Effect 3
You were right the first time.
I don’t really buy new games anymore. I wait till they are fixed. And if it isn’t fixed I don’t buy it either. Cities Skylines 2 comes to mind. Or starfield.
I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t enjoy the game. But it did need to TLC to it.
well they've got so many things to choose from to upgrade that's there's practically enough for an entire game..oh wait
Patches and dlc r NOT an excuse to release an unfinished product. And in law, if they sell u a product as complete and functional, that turns out to be neither of those, they can be sued
