As an LMT I've learned that the hips and shoulders play off of each other way more than most realize as well! When doing twisty stretches, this is a position you can feel their connectedness all the more! The body is so weird and cool and interconnected and fascinating 😍

I've never done any yoga before this. I've been doing this every other day for about a month now, and it's been great. Not just to stretch and gain mobility, but to really bring me some peace. I also use it to warm up before workouts, and it's been incredible.

I have recently had fibromyalgia diagnosed after suffering 45 years without being able to relieve my symptoms. Hi Joelle! Thank you so much for making these videos. I have chronic hip and back pain, and these have helped provide immediate and lasting relief as I build strength and mobility. I loved this class -- I found it to be more based in stretching than strength, which is relaxing and great for immediate relief. I was wondering if you could make a video that focuses more on the other side of the coin with strengthening the hip/glute area? Thanks so much again.

Joelle, this video flow is powerful. I felt some very good deep stretches and this flow is very enjoyable for me. The IT stretch after pigeon, mentioned your left side is tighter, I realized it is my right side that is tighter. That was one of those "wow" kind of stretches for me. Question, do you think doing this once a week and then a 20-30 minute full body flow once a week will make a good difference? or is it recommended to do more days than that. I am running on 1 other day of the week. Thank you for everything, I appreciate your content!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Amber, I think it's one of my personal favorites too! Doing this one once a week + another flow is a great start. I personally find that doing at least 10 minutes every other day (or every day) works best, but we're all different, so what's important is finding what works best for you! 😊 Oh and if you ever want to mix things up, I've also got a few 10-minute flows for hips and shoulders that you could slot in a little more often in case you're looking for more. thank you, i was able to feel a good stretch in my hips. sometimes when I follow hip stretches I don't feel like they target my areas and help me stretch them out enough. i have very tight it bands and a snapping hip, I was told to stretch the hip/it band out to reduce the friction and pain. as a yogi, do you think that this would help me? i am losing hope. any advice from you would be helpful. youve earned a new sub right here thanks love
Welcome! It's great to have you with us, and that's a good question. I'd suggest searching "yoga with joelle it band" on RUclips and you'll find a few practices aimed at that area that you can try to see if they help. I suggest starting with the 10-minute one for IT Band Pain! Hope that helps!

Hi Ana, great job not pushing into anything that's painful for you. One option would be to do a similar stretch but lying on your side, propping your top knee out to the side on a cushion. I hope that helps!
