Agree entirely stovetop is my preference too and I feel it's a better result that way. Like you been cooking it for many, many years and still love it.
A classic recipe ... but no matter how hard I try, I just can't spin my onions so they miraculously peel themselves. I think you need to do a video on that! 😂
Hey Joel, I just made your Pilaf, but I added 2 cardamom pods…it was sensational! It accompanied a Basque Chicken to which I added a 1/2 teaspoon of Spanish spice mix! Ditto! Thanks for what you do mate, keep it coming
We asian eat rice with almost every chicken or mutton dishes and this is the simplest and easiest recipe... will try it tomorrow and then give you feed back... love your recipes and have tried so many you are an amazing chef.
In my whole life I only tried it out but once with lamb kebabs!! 😋 Top-notch rice dish from a top-notch Chef! 👍🏻 Persians cook this delicacy for their guests. We tried it in a mountainous restaurant in a region called Torghabeh, far east. We had rich rice dish alongside lamb kebabs and honey-glazed goat meat pieces the reason I had a few bees visits! 😅 It was a charming green site with a little waterfall trickling its water around the spot. Wish I could go back there again.
i grew up eating a more basic version of this, just rice sauteed in butter or oil, then steamed in chicken stock. my family is from eastern europe and it's a pretty standard way of cooking rice in that part of the world. but the beauty of this style of cooking rice is that you can vary the recipe a lot to suit individual taste, but i agree that a lot of pilaf recipes have too many ingredients and that simple is the best way.
I'm 69 and every nice restaurant the chefs made it the same way... with scallions diced small which also added color chicken stock butter...no bay leaf... and chicken stock always delicious. People also started adding saffron Bay leaf and saffron not classic and you don't need it. Classic is traditional I believe. However, your videos are nice to watch thank you, Cynthia
@@recipe30 I apologise if my comment came across as snide or something,it wasn't intended to.I actually didn't really know what "pilaf" meant. And I honestly feel yours is the best of all the cooking shows, thanks so much for sharing!
Very nice..similar to what we make.. It's called baghare rice....v fry onion, ginger garlic paste and some whole spices (bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom, black pepper) fry till golden brown.. Add water bring to boil then add socked rice n salt.....its perfect with any non veg gravy
Hello Chef. Thanks for the video. Do you wash the rice? I noticed that if I don't wash the rice, it turns out very fluffy, which I prefer, but everyone says we need to wash the rice throughly due to pesticides, etc, etc.
Thanks a lot of. Very nice movie. Great recipe. When there is nothing about chickenstock, You can use vegetablestock, or meatstock. İf you have put some curcuma inside for good color. Press like
You could Sam but why would you? Margarine is very unhealthy, and low fat butter is heavily processed. Just use the best natural butter you can afford and maybe just use a little less.
@@recipe30 Hi Chef Joel! I am trying to watch my / lose weight so that's why I was wondering if those could be subbed out to lower the calories, carb and fat.
This looks delicious, I tried it but did not come out right. It'd be nice if you put measurements, this way us novices can have a shot a getting it right.
Probably a very nice example of middle eastern pilaf, but you should try central asian versions, such as the samarkand pilaf. Those take longer to make but are a whole lot better aswell.
Looks good but that is not real pilaf as pilaf has whole spices e.g cardamoms, cinnamon sticks, whole black peppers, cumin seeds and a lil' bit of masala spice.
Ohhhhh the sound effect!! It’s magical!! 💞❤️💞
👍😀
I tried this recipe yesterday. It was amazing. The way you cook, the visual, the atmosphere is very comparable to... ART. Thank you 🙏🏾

Beautiful and so easy. Just the way we learned to make it in Turkey. Love fluffy, or as the Turks say "tane tane" rice.
Tane tane, sounds good to me! Thanks Richard! 😀😀

Cool! Should I wash the basmati rice before putting into the pot?
It's usually best.

Why people just can't say that's a great recipe chef they always have to put there two since in it we did not ask you four any of that bull shit.
😒Kamel is JUST saying what you can substitute if you dnt have CHICKEN STOCK. Which I just so happen to NEED to know today.. Take it easyyy dude. 🤣😑
Soy colombiano donde se come arroz, gracias por compartir

Can we add boiled chicken with the chicken froth to make it chicken rice?
Lovely plates!! From where to get these?

How many does it serve for ?
Sample and looks delicious!! PLEASE🙏🙏 Tell me the quantity of water 💧for cup of rice🍚??? My ricevalway become nush "Gooey🤮" Thnaks😘
Most rice is 2 parts water to 1 part rice. If it's gooey, wash it well first and maybe use a little less water.
Hi Joel! can you use low fat butter or margarine in this recipe?
You could Sam but why would you? Margarine is very unhealthy, and low fat butter is heavily processed. Just use the best natural butter you can afford and maybe just use a little less.

You don't wash and rinse the basmati rice before cooking?

Unwashed rice? Better google search “arsenic in rice” for why this is a bad idea
