Louise a big challenge, but you took it on and it turned out "Beautifully"!! I love the colors and the composition, and as always, talking your way through your creating, always ends up gorgeous! ☺🤗❤
Dear Louise, every time I see your artistic works I wonder: What is all this creativity? Everything you create is beauty itself.. I am in love with your artistic ideas.. I am in love with your works.. I am in love with your creations.. All your works are a piece of heaven.
I involuntarily said "uh oh" the first time you added more pillow. This is very tricky to know just how much paint is enough, much like when I do my bloom halos. I find it easier to add if needed. I got a couple of trays that I've been building up my energy to bloom on but I see those challenges ahead and change my mind lol. This came out spectacular! ❤
Preaching to the choir sister, 😘I always go less with the philosophy, I can always add more. I don’t know what I was thinking during this creation. Fortunately, I was able to extract the extra pillow without damaging the composition. Since this pillow was so fluid, I probably could’ve just tilted in all directions and spread it that way before I needed to blow it out.
Simply beautiful as always, Louise. I'm almost finished with my Italian flag tissue box cover, and I'm also working on my Spain flag tissue box cover, I'll show you the first block when I'm finished with it in the community tab.
Girl this turned out gorgeous! I can’t tell you how many times I put too much base coat/pillow down before I figured out a way to calculate the exact amount. Can’t wait to get to teach with you in DC!❤ and I’ll see you next week in Asheville!❤
Thank you Treesie, 🩵You’re way ahead of me if you actually have calculated the exact amount because I usually can just go by eyeball. But I usually use MultiPro so the Glidden threw me off because it is a little more thin. Look forward to seeing you next week here, in my hometown, and of course, in DC.
Oh man, 😘Donna, and I know better. But I have always only used MultiPro before, so I have that dialed in, the glidden spreads a lot more, and I know better I just didn’t realize how much it was spreading like a flood . 😂 thank you for being here and your funny comments!! @@LouiseMcKayArt I do acrylic pouring too, for about 2 1/2 years...I love seeing what others do and getting ideas. I haven't gotten brave enough to start a channel. 🤠
@@donnacampbell9187 cool, I started in March 2021 so just over three years now. The only reason why I started the channel was because somebody asked if I had a video and they wanted to see it so I learned how to do editing and all of it. It’s been quite the journey. I understand what you’re saying, though, never thought I would ever have a channel, and now I’m gonna be teaching classes at the fluid art boutique in DC in August. Go figure, life is weird how it works out sometimes.
This is stunning!! Your buyer should be very pleased with this. You cracked me up with your warnings about too much pillow, I was getting concerned too. You were able to get it perfectly done it looks like tho. I like the idea of a personalized video, I may have to check in to that. Wish I could be in DC but it's not meant to be at this time. You'll do great tho

Awesomeness 🎉!! Your a lefty too!! You performed an beautiful blew out Louise! It's beautiful. 🎉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💣 I have to rewatch. Sorry if you don't get credit for the first.
I really appreciate your description of how to angle the blow dryer. Have you ever taped the inside wall for tidiness or does that cause trouble down the road?
Thank you, yes, I have taped the inside in my earlier creations, but I find I don’t need it as I’m careful with how I blow things out and the paint is thick enough that it doesn’t splatter
I agree, this IS your best tray!!!! I love it!!! I have a question for you, I have a tray that has been solidly painted a dark blue. I would like to try this. What color would you paint the tray itself? I think the blue could be "too much". What do you think? Thanks
Honestly, Charlene, choices like that are best left to the creator, it depends on the color blue. There are lots of dark blues, depends on where it would go, there are a lot of factors I don’t know the answers to. If it were me, I would probably sand it all the way down and start with a fresh stain I liked. I think more blue probably would be too much, but then again, I don’t see it, so I can’t tell
@@sandystaiger2731 hi Sandy for the multi pro I always wait three weeks for the tray to fully dry. It did not crack, I really don’t have a problem with cracking because my workshop is very controlled in temperature and I don’t have any breezes. I cover it and keep it very protected while it’s drying. You can see the resined results. I always share the final results so people can see how everything looks in the end. I hope this helps.
@@LouiseMcKayArt thank you. So i'm assuming your lazy susans are the same dry time period. The paint just seems so thick. Curious to work with it. Is TLP a powder pigment??
@@sandystaiger2731 actually the lazy Susan’s are about 10 days to two weeks because I’m able to spin off the paint and I have much more control of how much paint I leave versus the tray that I can’t spin any off. Yes, the TLP are the mica powder pigments.
Why does my resin pull away from the edges? I mix as instructed, babysit, pop bubbles, have a warm room but in the mornings it has pulled away from the edges slightly. It’s so frustrating!! HELP!!
Hi Jerri, I don’t know based on what you’ve just given me. A couple questions. What kind of resin are you using? How do you work it to the edges? Do you actually push it to the edges with something? Tilt it or just let it spread?
@@LouiseMcKayArt sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. Work seems to get in the way of my fun. I have used Art Resin and craft Resin. Both did the same thing. It’s as tho my coasters have a dip in the center that causes the resin to pull away from the sides.
@@jerrichambers4890 make sure you actually physically pull the paint over the edge with your fingers and cover the sides. If you have alcohol spritzed the coaster before you resin, you should not have a problem with anything pulling away.
@@corysmama1 I have to remove the extra pillow paint before I put it to bed to dry. The only way I know how that works is just scooping some out with a pallet knife until I have about a 30 second of an inch in there. I tried using a syringe. Maybe my syringe was too small, you could try maybe a wider mouth syringe but you gotta be careful piece. The composition will suck into it as well. The only way out is to not have so much to begin with. That’s the best way.😂
