As a Korean, I really find this not fair. South Korea is testing as many people as possible and honestly telling their numbers but some countries are placing travel restrictions on them. The good doctor has been warning of this possibility should we fail to take this matter seriously and prepare. Our leaders have been slow to accept it.
It can't be in the interest of the economy to not take this seriously from the beginning like the WHO, so I don't get it how these people can be so short-sighted. This approach will backfire so badly..

That one patient has been at the hotel for a week already feeling unwell .. so everyone departing that hotel for the hotel (since he arrived there) is a potential new vector that will pop up in a few weeks when they return to home and start making new clusters.
Kudos to John for sticking with his convictions. I've watched John's opinion of the WHO slowly slide from disbelief to complete incompetence. This is a positive transition. Keep it up!
Oh like how he applauded China the whole time even though they're responsible for it? They wouldnt have had to take the measures they did if they were transparent from the beginning.
@@christiensebastien2442 To be fair, China is accountable for the virus. But in the sense of containing the situation, China is doing a good job. I think John is very objective right here.
Yes they seem idiotic, WHO... I can only think if I were defending them that they are giving everyone time to wake up and get prepared because as soon as they say it’s a pandemic mass panic buying will hit the shops!
Italy jumped 58 cases within an hour of your post. As soon as WHO says the "P" word the economic implications is a $4 trillion drop in the world economy according to high officials. You can see why they are reluctant to take that step.
pandemic or not either way around economy will drop. if this is not contained. Government better start preparing to contain it or to prevent it from spreading in your country.
@Logan 5 If you think that the 4billion is going to be out of the rich folk's pocket you're a walking moron. The first and ONLY people who are gonna get hit are small business owners. That means the poor and the middle class is gonna pay. Also there's not gonna be "several billion dead people". Stop pulling shit out of your ass.
@ he is my fave, but I've just discovered some legitimate and respected virologists and infectious disease specialists on twitter who are also saying this is indeed a pandemic and being critical of WHO and the CDC.
As soon as you have a death in a country, it was circulating for aprrox 40-50 days already in the country, given that first on average 50 cases have to develop from patient 0, that takes time, those will end up having a death, but only 3 weeks later. So italy is not in the first week of the outbreak, just in the first week of noticiing it. There were cases already for a week in hospital for pneumonia that were not tested.
It could of course be faster, also the patient 0 could be the one that dies first, but that was a rough estimate on the average. Could also take much longer until deaths show up.
The cognitive dissonance of this situation baffles me. China locks down 3/4 of a billion people. We see bars welded across doors, people dragged away by police, stories of crematoriums running 24/7, hazmat suits, trucks spraying disinfectant, etc., and the global response has been three steps behind the curve the whole time. It’s a pretty interesting study in human psychology. Our monkey brains are going to cost us big this time.
51 crematoriums, 300 each burning a day, all day since December 29. Do the math... Those are the currently burnt to ash but not the dead.... :( WHO baffles me when they don't want to call this a pandemic after people go off to travel. 😒
im just so disgusted in the way that just about all governments hve handled this but i belive if the end of the world was tommorow they would not tell us anyway what good is mass panic when yo ucan let peopel carry on as normal untill teh bitter end

The virus has been out and spreading for a while now and since they don`t find patient zero they don`t know for how long exactly. The number of critical cases and deaths are high now because the people who are seriously ill are the easiest cases to identify. I may be repeating what others have said, but if the Italian doctor has been in Tenerife for a week, then infections were occurring in Italy at least a week ago. That could explain their relatively high death rates, as there are likely a much larger number of mild cases there. And perhaps elsewhere, as obtaining a covid19 test seems to depend upon contact with Chinese.

That or the virus has mutated
that's why quarantine is actually meant to be 40 DAYS LONG!

Citizen credit system...good credit, good care, bad credit, dead.
Politicians first, of course. Second is whoever has the family that can afford the better lawyers.
Lawyers are last in line.
Meg Kampen. My vote is for politicians to be last in-line and only after all citizens receive the care they need. Trust me the world will not miss them. Wishing and praying everyone else and your families!
Electricity taster same with politician’s that would be payback for their corruption
its called triage
Dr. Campbell deserves a Nobel Peace Prize!!! Dr. Campbell for President ( I wish!)!!!
The number of critical cases and deaths in Italy in such short time make me think the numbers coming from China were severely "out to lunch".
I think you can safely add a couple of 00's to the figures
@Exx Seppshun or both which makes it even more scarier
Nope, the major spread was in hospital where you have a lot of sick people. That's the answer. Don't create own theory.
@Exx Seppshun existing science lab say something different. Virus in 99% is still the same.
@@dexter77777ify comparing numbers from SK and Italy only serves to prove the original beliefs of CCP lying about numbers...its not a theory at this point, its mathematical proof
As to South Korea's death rate, a large number of infected were actually at a hospital, suggesting they already had underlying conditions.
Thank you for posting this information Dr Campbell. I am following closely and appreciate the facts.
The description of Beijing is completely true. My parents live in Beijing, and it is exactly like that. But people are calm and not panicked. Companies and factories are still not at full capacity, but capacity is coming back soon, ~1-2 weeks. Will probably remain this way for another month or two. Who knows how long this virus will last
A full lock down will mean that the disease could be controlled in about 30 days. The problem then for Beijing will be keeping people out of the city that have not gone through the period of lockdown as they could just reintroduce the virus.
@@bighands69 They are ordered to self quarantine for 2 weeks - I would imagine hotels are closed or tightly monitored and only accessible with a permit. I am a long way from Beijing but the draconian measures are everywhere, groups of 3 people can be arrested. I think 1 -2 weeks is unlikely, they have said that from mid January and extended it every time. We are thinking school is out at least until May, street commerce is merely official and supervised. It is 'rush hour' here now and it is silent except for the birdsong.
@@allmendoubt4784 Very eerie, I can only imagine.
"Difficult decisions" in medical terms means triage of sick people in order of survive-ability, usually starting with medical staff, pregnant woman, children, fit adults and eventually older people or with underline diseases.
Politicians might come before pregnant women in the real world. Also people with enough money to sue you, which means lawyers come after the elderly.
Thank you, Dr. Campbell. Always very informative. 👍👍👍
I'm quickly changing from "the weird guy who lives offgrid in the woods" to "the smart guy who lives offgrid in the woods"
Off grid but online oddly enough. Lol sorry couldn't resist
@@rodionromanovich449 Haha... People say that to me all the time. The EMF covers the area whether I use cell service or not. Might as well take advantage of it to shitpost using my smartphone. I'm not a Luddite, I'm just seizing the best of both worlds. ;) The idea isn't to abandon technology, but to use it independently
As far as I am concerned it's out of control now and we are powerless to stop it. Contact tracing is no longer effective. I don't live in a city so hopefully won't be exposed to it. I won't be travelling or holidaying at all until this has gone. Not enough has been done at the very earliest stages of this outbreak and now we are all sitting ducks☹️
Gone how... It is going to be a seasonal virus if it spreads, just like the flu....
@@Trikipum Well if that's the case the world we live in now is going to be very different. Hopefully it will peiter out like SARS . Only problem is it spreads much easier, faster and without warning
@@Trikipum
If it is shut down properly it will not be a seasonal virus. As the virus will not be able to spread and will just become ineffective.
Your analissys is GREAT. THANK YOU DOCTOR.
I think at this point we are all going to have to deal with this virus. I strongly suspect we already have cases here in the U.S. that are unknown. It is time for personal responsibility. We all need to be responsible for maintaining good hygiene, staying home if we are sick, being prepared to treat minor illnesses at home so we do not burden the health care system and getting what we can in the way of food, medicines, disinfectants, etc now so we aren't part of the masses that will panic buy at the last minute. And for the love of god, can we all cover our mouths if we have a cough. I only say that because I just returned from the grocery store where I kindly asked a lady to cover her mouth as she was open-mouthed coughing all over the store.
@CoastalCuda that's the problem ppl will panic and panic buy, AMERICANS are so miss lead or distracted they are blind to see past the cell phone, it will be every man for themselves that's merica. Remember Katrina, wait 5 days them send help, we got to let 1000's die first
@@cindylincoln3319 That will become an issue if we have several cities with outbreaks. There is a reason FEMA has told us for years to be prepared for a disaster. I am in a hurricane zone and in a disaster, it takes time for the gov to be able to reach out and help. And that is just with localized disasters. In a large scale disaster, we would be on our own for quite a while. and yes, a lot of Americans are not paying attention and not preparing. We live in a situation now where the majority of the citizens have not had to live through a huge event that disrupts their lifestyle. Most did not live through world wars, rationing, etc. So they have a false sense that no matter what, everything will go on as normal. It is going to be a problem. A big problem.
A couple of weeks ago I was walking through an open air shopping center and a man drove past with his window down coughing all over people as he drove by. He was alone in the car, so I don't know what his angle was, strangest thing I've seen in a long time.
@@coastalcuda5727 geepers Wally you said it was just the flu now I can't have lumpy come over and play
@@ninjamistysninjanook664 There are definitely some people who will do stuff like that just for kicks. Just as we've seen videos of people purposely spitting on door handles and buttons in elevators. Even more reason for each of us to be meticulous about our hygiene.
Iran's deputy health minister has apparently tested positive for the virus today.
Im from iran and that's true
Wait seriously???
midnight teapot I pray for him.
Because of the elections and the failure to close religious gatherings, Iran could become second to only China very quickly
Incredible! And just yesterday contentious accusations wherein a mayor took official count to task saying he had more than 40 cases in his city alone. "When we hit those numbers, I'll resign", said the health minister. I guess his Deputy may very well be case 41.
NO ...Dr Campbell, thank you for your time and effort. Take care and all the best.
thank you for your resilience, measuredness and calm whilst being a voice of reason. Take care of yourself, I can only imagine it's quite a strain effectively being a 'whistleblower.'
It is obvious what message from Dr. John is particularly conveyed in this video: the word he mostly speaks in this video: *concerning*
If you let your heart get there, then... 😓😪😓😪 only tears remains
I been nurse for 40 years....to say i am fearful is understated. i always prepare for the work... i am planning to survive it...it will become a regular part of our flu season...the hysteria will die down....my baby is 36 years old..and i will go to work...just get as healthy as you can...it looks like it's a 30 day recovery...maybe 30 day incubation period.
Thank you John for informing us with accurate and honest information. No other news sites are telling us straight how it is, I appreciate you sticking your neck out for us and giving us this information.
I have been tracking your posts for a over a week now. I find your reporting on this crisis to be the most logical of all!! Thank you and please don’t stop. I am with you WHO has botched this. It is what it is....a pandemic!
This kind of content is part of what makes the internet so potent.
Thank you Dr Campbell. You are a boon to us all.
It’s definitely a pandemic 😔
Why ?? Why ?? aren't western nations closing borders / banning flights ??? Our leaders don't care about us, more concerned with international trade / globalisation.
We need to get these videos out there
They do care in a sense.. mass panic isn’t going to help contain this it will cause it to spread faster
RemusKingOfRome5 what’s your confusion? I agree with your last point, governments seem more concerned about the economy.
The definition of a pandemic is an epidemic of disease spread across a large region/ to multiple continents
@@tiramisumochi4787 If nations had banned flights 2 weeks ago, the pandemic might have been stopped. Even banning flights now might help.
